I cannot see how you overlook Bob Melvin in the AL for Manager of the Year. Lincecum didn't take care of himself in the off season. With a 160 pound frame, he needs to be in prime shape. And that led to confidence issues. He has no longer been the Freak with 2 strikes. Glad we gave Cain the long term and Freak the short term money. He's got a chance to prove out in the playoffs and beyond.

What Dickey has done this season is truly amazing. I don't know the story of his life or hardships, etc. Just talking from a baseball sense. Steve Carton was 27-10 on a Phillies team that lost 97 games, probably the best season in modern baseball. Dickey's performance is close to that. Bravo.

An NFL player won't want to be a ref unless he's hard up for money. And that makes him susceptible to the gamblers. I think the formula they have now works, with lawyers and other professionals who are continuously vetted and rated.
