  1. I don't know if the Giants ever had a cohesive coaching unit under Cough. I don't know what his strategy is. I imagine its more Gilbride than McAdoo. So what exactly is his contribution. Anyone know? Is he like Regan in the final years?
  2. oh ok, my bad. really, you can only hope to put your team in a position to win. you cannot coach a guy not to bounce a punt return off his knee. And if you get to 1st and goal at the 5, I'd say you put your team in a position to win. It's ridiculous to point a finger and say you didn't win. As if Coughlin had something to do with Tyree's velcro head catch.
  3. Yeah but this will be the first time he's had 2 losing seasons in a row. And he's 68 years old. Time to pass the baton.
  4. I never got the impression that Eli and Tom are joined at the hip.
  5. And unfortunately one of those 2 players is coming back vs. Giants.
  6. That's true but when the secondary is hurting, the vaunted DL you'd think would take some pressure off. Fact is, we're not very good healthy.
  7. Every team has injuries. In the NFL, you just scrape them off the carpet and get the next guy. It's depth that counts.
  8. More important that he brings his DC and LB Coach. Their offense isn't great. But it's amazing how their defense is missing their 2 best players and still are fantastic.
  9. Yeah they didn't listen to me about Brandon Marshall either.
  10. And which head coach has been able to mass produce linebackers? Including another breakout rookie who will be getting intimate with Eli next week, Chris Borland.
  11. Then having the team quit on him Don't believe everything you hear from Deion.
  12. not fire him. bump him upstairs for a couple of years. he's not going to win again anyway. Show me the last HC who wasn't an asshole that won the SB.
  13. They're all assholes. Coughlin was the biggest asshole around when he first got here.
  14. Yeah and being an ex-hero doesn't mean success. I think the Giants are going to make a big play for Jim Harbaugh. He''s been successful wherever he's gone and he yearns for a mature, business-like atmosphere like NY. The 49ers front office is young and sensitive. Harbaugh is about winning, not soothing egos.
  15. yeah i just checked toomer for 2002 and he had back to back hundies
  16. I got to think it doesn't take long to scheme against the Giants defense. Harbaugh is probably telling his coaches "I'll see you on Thursday"
  17. Yes, executives always aspire to their first level of incompetence.
  18. , “I don’t know. I was in the bathroom.” Wow, that's downright Pisarcikian
  19. C'mon Bigblue25, start the conversation. We need to talk about the future because the present stinks.
  20. That would be an excellent question to pose to him.
  21. We'll never know, because of all the injuries. And only because Coughlin made it sound, when he took over the team, that a head coach had some power over injuries, do I throw that back in his face. Because although there were 2 super bowls, there was never an improvement in health. As a matter of fact, it's probably worse. Seems like the NFL has stopped caring so much about keeping folks healthy and care more about having able bodies to replace fallen warriors.
