15 years of no playoff appearances culminating in Joe Pisarcik's Miracle in the Meadowlands. That's what was before George Young.
Rozelle convinced the Mara's to hire him.
Shockey for sure, I recall there were questions about Dayne even then. 2 RB's went before him. (so much for consensus best RB in the league). I will say that after Alexander, the RB talent fell considerably so I can see why they made a move for an RB when they did. Tiki was fumble prone and not a proven commodity. They just chose the wrong guy.
Grr- I'm far from a draft-nik and even I knew that Shaun Alexander was the pick there. Not to mention Julian Peterson or Abraham. You'd have to be disappointed in Ernie there. Dayne was who we thought he was.
Wow, where do I start?
Probably with Tucker Fredrickson and then almost every #1 draft pick until Simms and after LT with the exceptions of Carl Banks, Rodney Hampton, Strahan, Jeter, Van Pelt.
This is something that has gone on in the Giants organization for a long time. Things like this more often than not start at the top. And I mean the owners, not the head coach. We like to think the Giants are all class. The results show otherwise.
I think it's this. There's some member of the medical staff who's being honest with players for a change. My take is that you'll see more of this. Walk away before they send you away when you can't walk.
My beloved Warriors have advanced to the Western Finals , a place where they haven't been since 1976. I disowned the Sharks last year so don't have to deal with that stress- and the GIants are doing ok without Pence who comes back today. Pretty good times.
