  1. I think it was Awesome who said they'd be a mediocre team who is very entertaining to watch. They are who he thought they were
  2. Be interesting to see what he does with them.
  3. Yeah- I would say there's a few guys playing , out of position on that team. Murphy does not look at all like a 2nd baseman, yet he made some great plays in the NLCS. Maybe he's the type that carries his at bat onto the field. The fastest thing they can do, IMO, would be to shore up the bullpen, especially with some lefties. I think they were a year ahead of themselves, like the Cubs so this was all gravy.
  4. Mets fans? Are you still watching?..... Tough one last night- really believe Collins blew it with his "bullpen guys" Not hard to see that the Royals feast on righties, any righty. Don't know how many lefties are in the Mets pen but he should have used them to protect the lead. You can't run the playoffs like the regular season. Just ask Matt Williams and Donnie Baseball
  5. I don't know, Ice. I think he's got something left in the tank and just doesn't like the way he's being used. Who cares about the money as long as the pencil pushers find a way to make it work?
  6. He was great for a time. Is it injuries, attitude or bad offense? It appears as if San Fransisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is going to be one of the most talked about players heading into next week's trade deadline, but there are obstacles if the 49ers want to deal him away. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported last week the 49ers are fielding calls on Davis, who is in the final year of his contract. The 2006 first-round pick is off to a dismal start, only catching 12 balls for 170 yards in five games played this season. He was thrown to six times in San Francisco's 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night. NFL Media's Ian Rapoport followed up with a report Sunday, saying Davis' future with San Francisco is "unclear." New head coach Jim Tomsula and offensive coordinator Geep Chryst have phased Davis out of the offense, though in fairness, no one has really been a star in the 49ers' league-worst offense. But fourth-year tight end Garrett Celekhas been featured a little more prominently in the 49ers' passing attack, catching 15 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown reception. Despite Davis' track record of success, the 49ers could have problems finding a suitor for the two-time Pro Bowler. For starters, the 31-year-old is owed $4.35 million this season. Any team that trades for him would still be on the hook for roughly half of that cash. That's a hefty price to pay, considering Davis' production has fallen off a cliff over the last two years. In 2014, Davis only caught 26 passes for 245 yards in 14 games. That was a stark drop-off from his 2013 campaign, in which he caught 52 passes for 850 yards with 13 touchdown passes. Surrendering a couple of million dollars and a pick is a lot to give up for a player with a declining skill set, especially if he'd be unhappy. Davis told Comcast SportsNet Bay Area on Saturday he'd be "highly upset and highly disappointed" if the 49ers decided to deal him away. It's no guarantee that a player whose name is bandied about in trade rumors will actually be traded. Davis' situation in San Francisco could be a reminder of that.
  7. I don't think I need to remind anyone of all of the weird ways we have lost to the Cowboys. I was not happy giving them the ball with an eternity left on the clock.
  8. Cowboys had 2 long, efficient TD drives in that game. Who led those? Plenty of talent for another one. Especially with no pressure on QB.
  9. Favre once said "there's always enough time@ referring to getting the ball back with no timeouts. There was plenty of time for that offense to score with no Timeouts.
  10. i think they do capitalize and that is what's keeping them in the game.
  11. I'm with Tree on this one. I know the book says you'd rather take your chances against Dallas offense than defense but we historically pull defeat from the jaws of victory against them. the games usually are won by whomever has the ball last.
  12. The ball was overthrown. He had no chance no matter how many hands he had.
  13. LOL! He will get you that tough yard... when you need 2
  14. It really looks like they followed the Giants formula- and maybe perfected it a little. Comparing the 2010 Giants to the 2015 Mets- Great starting pitching- Mets get edge Great Middle Relief- Giants Edge (Mets haven't needed it much) Great coaching- Give Bochy the edge only because of his resume Timely hitting- Mets big edge (tough to predict a Cody Ross is going to carry your team) I dislike the Royals-but they are tough- young, strong, athletic. If they get in, it will be a tough one. Toronto I think would be no match.
  15. The Eagles game was the first game that we were outplayed. I think it came to a shock to players and coaches alike that our game plan wasn't working. Now Dallas will use the Eagles formula to defend us. It's up to our coaches to devise a new game plan. And Geezus can anyone get a sack? You'd think we could fall into a couple a game.
  16. LOL, Good Luck to the Mets and their fans!
  17. yeah i'm on pacific time so it's easier for me to say. it's this or The Voice!
  18. I still watch to the end. Like fish been watching for decades. Scores even. I recall when Aaron Thomas caught the ball in the end zone and the ref said he was out of bounds- but he wasn't Significance ? It was the only time they would sniff the playoffs for 18 years. I still watch to the end.
  19. when 23 fumbled and went into coughlin's doghouse, the offense went to sleep.
  20. they beat a hapless and decimated Ravens team. As someone else said, there's Pats, Packers and everyone else.
  21. we beat a hapless redskins and 49er team (skin of teeth). Bills aren't going to playoffs either.
