I'd be happy with either of those guys. Hortiz is still my #1, but this is a very strong list of candidates.

We can trade him (and should) and save 7 million with a zero dollar cap hit. I'd try for a third but would definitely settle for a fourth for him.

For real. Gettleman, Chris Mara, Abrams, and Marc Ross. One is the owner's brother and two of the other guys are out of football... it's like they weren't even trying.

Joe Schoen apparently interviewed really well. Hortiz is my #1 guy, but I think Schoen might be my #2. Peters is intriguing to me and is very highly regarded, but hasn't been there as long and his teams have had double-digit losses in four of his six seasons. That honestly doesn't wow me; ideally I'd like sustained results for our next guy.

The weirdest thing about Judge too... it's like this year he was the exact opposite of last year. During the 2020 season, the team had a bad record, but you could see the improvement week to week. There was very little confusion among the players; everyone knew their job. Players were utilized to their (often very limited) strengths. In-game decisions were good... there was hardly ever a time where I said, "why the fuck did Judge to that," except possibly for for a few challenges. The team really looked like they had bought in. This year? Literally every game I'd say, "why the fuck did they do that?" "What are they thinking with this game plan?" "Why are we calling our second timeout in the first quarter?" Players flat-out looked like they didn't want to be here. I know the defense kept fighting, but after that third loss of the season I think the offense realized the season was over... in September. I wonder what happened to Judge and the coaching staff to get everything so ass-backwards in year two. It's almost like they said, "let's do the exact opposite of what worked for us last year."

Honestly, this will keep me watching Giants football. I had zero interest in watching a Judge-coached team next year.

It's probably my second favorite pairing.

Nobody can turn this whole thing around in one season. I'd be happy with six wins, earn draft capital, build for the future.

Fucking love that kid. I saw some highlight this week of him running 40 yards down field to make a block... he almost kept up with the WR.

I'm hoping that out of the 7 guys they've contacted so far to interview... 4 must have said, "I'm not gonna make the trip if I can't hire my guy..." and ownership caved.

I did a mock last night where I traded back for an extra 2nd. We ended up with Ikwonu, Lindenbaum, Kenny Pickett, Breece Hall (reminds me of Shaun Alexander), and Isiah Likely. Man, do I wish that was a reality.

I didn't see it that way at all. If the Giants were an average team, they should have started off the season 3-0... instead we immediately lost to three sub-.500 teams. It was pretty obvious then we were a bottom-feeder; it didn't really matter who the teams we were up against were. Thanks Chuck... I'm like the Kool-Aid Man of terrible narratives.

I was thinking of something similar, but it was gonna be the ".500 challenge." I'll watch games where the team is .500 or better... which means probably the season opener and that's it.
