I wouldn't be surprised if Cody Ford ends up on the team within the next month. 2nd round guy from a few years back that got bounced around to a bunch of different positions on the line but never managed to nail down a spot. He's still more potential than production but Schoen knows him and we're once again getting desperate on the o-line.
I just don't fundamentally agree with that. Yes, you need to draft well in the first 3 rounds, but if you look at any of our championship teams they were littered with guys who were later round picks that all contributed in big ways (Bradshaw, Diehl, Jacobs, Boss... hell Bavaro, Baker, and McConkey if you wanna go back further... so many players). In the later rounds teams should be looking for guys who fell in the draft, not reaching for guys you can sign off the street two days later... and that's what McKethan was. You take the guy projected in the 4th if he's there in the 5th, not the guy who was projected in the 7th.
