I think at this point I'm ok with a DJ contract if it was of the Colin Kaepernick variety from San Francisco... incentive laden, with zero percent guaranteed and an easy out.

I loved Eli, but the whole "he made everyone around him better" argument I don't think holds any water. His last few seasons were terrible... not because he was a bad player, but because the team surrounded him with garbage. Look at Aaron Rodgers today and you'll see something similar (though Eli's teams were much worse towards the end). It's true that the players that left the team didn't do as well once they left, but that's because most of them were on their fifth ACL tear. It's a team sport; your good play can make others play better, but that has its limits. No one guy is going to just automatically elevate the play of everyone else that much.

That #84 has more drops than catches this season. He fucking sucks.

I dunno man, pass protection definitely looked good in the 3 quarters I did get to see.

Didn't get to see the last quarter but Banks and Papa were saying that Jones' decision making on the final few drives was terrible.

Yeah, but we got something for THIS guy, which I think was a good move. If someone came and offered a 7th for Golladay, I'd jump at that offer. Actually, I think I'd give incentive-laden contracts to both Barkley and Jones, or have contracts with easy outs if they're hurt and/or when they both turn back into pumpkins. Dex Lawrence I think we're gonna have to pay, and hope he hates Minneapolis as a city.

Decision making has been good, he's really stepped up as a leader... tough, dependable, a good guy to root for. Extremely accurate so far this season. I really do like him as a person and player. His arm is still weak and that's probably not going to get any better.

Odell is by all accounts holding out for a "contract worth his value," so since the Giants only have .87 cents under the cap I'm guessing we're out of the Odell sweepstakes.
