  1. Had to switch gears... now it's Bratwurst and kraut. Got me a four pack of Dragon Milk Stout as well and its fucking delicious.
  2. That sounds good. Though I have to admit, I'm surprised for an occasion like this you're not going with jellied eels and chips. I've heard it's an English culinary delight.
  3. Seriously. What do you expect when your team is named after the things that power your phone? Who's afraid of those?
  4. What're you all cooking today? My son really wanted homemade pizza and wings for yesterday's game so we're doing the fallback option of chili and burgers today. LET'S FUCKING GO!
  5. HAMILTON was being fucking held on the play, and he got called for the hold. NFL officiating sucks.
  6. I was there for that game and it was fucking awesome. This was before 9/11, so they didn't warn the crowd ahead of time that jets would fly overhead during the (Kate Mara) national anthem. They strafed the stadium and scared the shit out of everyone... and we pretty much rode that adrenaline wave for the next three hours and never sat back down. Two defensive plays that didn't show up in the highlights... on Minnesota's second drive, on third down Culpeper tried scrambling and had nothing but open field in front of him... Jessie Armstead came flying from center field and stopped him for a four yard gain. Next series on third down, Culpepper heaved a pass for Moss in the end zone who somehow ended up being covered by our 3rd string/ slot guy (I think his name was McKinnon). The pass was incomplete, Moss hurt himself falling on the ball and basically stopped trying for the rest of the game. It was pretty obvious that the special plays that had been Minnesota's bread and butter all season wasn't gonna work on these guys. I got to see this with my old man and I'll never fucking forget it. It was a really special day.
  7. I get Jake Ballard vibes, which is not a bad thing at all.
  8. Thanks man. If you ever end up working for the team keep me in mind!
  9. He has definitely looked much better these past few weeks.
  10. And holy shit... Wink Martendale is still alive.
  11. Wink will probably get the Jim Johnson treatment. Really good assistant, but "too old" to be a head coach. If Kafka keeps turning chicken shit into chicken salad and he'll be gone eventually. Let's just enjoy him while he's here.
  12. The NFL/big businesses have fucked up my streaming for so long that I'm not sure I'm ever going to pay for it again. One year I got Madden because NFL Sunday ticket came with it for free, but DirecTV didn't think that adding 20 million new customers required an upgrade to their servers, so none of the games actually worked until week 4. Then I tried using a VPN to make it look like my laptop was in Mexico and paid for the "NFL Abroad" package, but only about a half of each game was watchable no matter where I set my location to. This year, I've done the NFL+ package and every month I have to go and dispute one of the charges because they always charge me twice. I think I'm done.
  13. Dude tackles like shit and drops sure INTs... but he's not being picked on quite as much as earlier in the year. Maybe his coverage is good and that's why they're not throwing to him, but there hasn't been a single play this year where I've said, "wow, great coverage by Flott!" Chenal has had a handful of eye-opening plays so far. The fact that Nick McCloud is starting over him kind of tells you everything you need to know about the kid. I sure hope I'm wrong and he becomes something (I think he's got a shot to be decent) but again, we can only grade where we are right now... and right now Chenal is the better player.
  14. Whelp, I figured it was time for a much-too-early assessment of how me and Joe Schoen's respective draft classes are going. I'm not going to evaluate Thibodeaux and Neal since we were of like minds on those two guys, but to be honest, at this point I think I have a pretty significant edge on Schoen. I'm available to be a GM, or even to just do a consulting gig for all Giants front-office folks who are watching. Round 2, No. 43 overall: Wan’Dale Robinson Who I'd take - TE Trey Mc Bride Comments - This is a tough one to pick, as Wan’Dale started to look pretty good by midseason, and McBride has looked rather terrible until the last three weeks of the season. However, Wan’Dale has a serious injury right now, where McBride is healthy… going into next season, you’re more likely to get more production our of McBride as opposed to Wan’Dale. EDGE: Seph Round 3, No. 67 overall: Joshua Ezeudu Who I'd take - LB Nakobe Dean Comments - Josh Ezeudu has shown himself to be a stud run blocker in limited action so far. He’s also demonstrated that he’s one of the worst pass blockers in the league, with some comically bad “o’le!” moments. Out with a neck injury, we’ll have to see what the future holds. Nakobe Dean, also in limited time, has impressed the coaching staff, has fans salivating for the future, and earned himself a 78.9 PFF grade. The winner is clear. EDGE: Seph Round 3, No. 81 overall: Cordale Flott (CB, LSU) Who I'd take - LB Leo Chenal Comments - Cordale Flott is looking a lot like what some smart people were saying after he was drafted: not big enough, not strong enough, not fast enough. Coverage is middling-to-bad, tacking is even worse. He’s got room to grow, but right now he’s a JAG. Leo Chenal, on the other hand, has also looked good in limited reps. Like Dean, he has a talented linebacking corps ahead of him, but he’s working his way into the starting lineup and looks to be a building block moving forward. EDGE: Seph Round 4, No. 112 overall: Daniel Bellinger (TE, San Diego State) Who I'd have taken - RB Isiah Spiller Comments - This isn’t really a tough one. Daniel Bellinger has exceeded all expectations as a tight end, displaying top-end blocking and a knack for getting open. With the exception of one notable drop, his hands have been excellent. Spiller has spent most of the season on IR and has not looked wonderful in limited reps. EDGE: Shoen Round 4, No. 114 overall, Dane Belton (S, Iowa) Who I'd have taken - OG/OT Zach Tom Comments - Another easy one, Zach Tom has filled in at both RG, LG, and LT. He’s allowed one sack in that time, and posted a 69 PFF grade. His athleticism and positional versatility is one of the big reasons why Green Bay is still in the playoff hunt. Dane Belton has looked like Dane Belton... meaning toast in coverage and a 29.9 PFF grade. EDGE: Seph Round 5, No. 146 overall: Micah McFadden (LB, Indiana) Who I'd have taken - RB Ty Chandler Comments - Micah McFadden is not a special player, nor an especially good one. However, he does have game tape, and with Ty Chandler in IR for the entire season to this point, it’s enough to make him a (marginally) better pick. EDGE: Shoen Round 5, No. 147 overall: D.J. Davidson (DT, Arizona State) Who I'd have taken - CB Zyon McCollum Comments: First of all, let’s get this out in the open: they both suck. Davidson has been pushed around in limited playing time this season, and McCollum has been picked on in spot duty this year. However, McCollum has at least showed up for some special teams play where Davidson has been invisible since game two. I’m calling this one a push. EDGE: None Round 5, No. 173 overall: Marcus McKethan (OG, North Carolina) Who I'd have taken - OG Jamaree Salyer Comments - Salyer has had the enviable task of taking over for Rashawn Slater while the latter has been on IR since the preseason. All he’s done is posted a 67 PFF grade while allowing 4 sacks on the year. He was drafted to play guard, but has shown the chops to be a more than capable NFL tackle. Marcus McKethan has been hurt since the preseason, but when he returns it’s expected that he’ll look like the injured version of Marcus McKethan. This one is not even close and it’s another example of Joe Shoen trying to get too cute with his picks. EDGE: Seph Round 6, No. 182 overall Darrian Beavers (LB, Cincinnati) Who I'd have taken - OG Lecitus Smith Comments - Lecitus Smith has not looked great when called upon in two games this season, but to be fair, one of those was against some guy named Aaron Donald who I heard was pretty good himself. He apparently looked decent aside from that in limited action. Darrian Beavers has been in IR all season. I’m not going to kill Smith for getting manhandled by Donald, and he’s at least been available so far, which puts him above Beavers. I do think Beavers has a chance to be a good contributor if he can come back healthy next season. EDGE: Seph So for those of you keeping score at home… so far in the Seph vs Joe Schoen matchup, it’s 6-2, but I’d also say we’re about seven minutes into the first quarter with both teams having had the ball once. Still plenty of game left to play, but I'm left wondering what our team would look like with the guys I picked over the Micah McFaddens and DJ Davidsons of the team.
  15. The thing is, most of the questions or criticisms were legit, but he's improved in all of his weak areas and is now an above-average QB. Cut down on turnovers? Check (also, I hate when lazy broadcasts show "look at all the Jones turnovers the past four years!!! Most of those were his rookie season) Show a big arm on tight window throws and the deep ball? Check. Elevate the play of those around him? Check (this WR corps is awful). Come up clutch in some big games? Check. Improve pocket awareness? Check. Make better reads? Check... though I still think there is room for improvement in this area. Jones has done everything the coaches have asked of him and then some. I wasn't sure how I felt about him when the season started... but now I really hope we keep him.
  16. When I start feeling this way, I think of all the times in the past 10 years that I've felt this way only to have us finish a season with 5 wins.
  17. I want us to fuck that team so hard. We'd better play our starters because the only reason the Eagles have existed these past ten years is to troll the Giants.
  18. Also, having Adoree Jackson and Xavier McKinney will go a long way towards making Justin Jefferson look human. Last time we were putting Nick McCloud and Darnay Holmes on him.
  19. Vikes. We had that game and we knew it.
  20. Type of games the Giants lose. We're feeling a little too good about how we played in a loss... 4th string QB... 3rd string RB... I hope we get our shit together.
  21. Anyone who thinks this is going to be a cakewalk is in for a rude awakening. I can very easily see a 21-17 Colts victory.
  22. Everything is shaping up for a 42-10 Colts victory.
