Not for nothing, but what the fuck is up with Jerry Reese?
Sephiroth replied to Sephiroth's topic in New York Giants
Let's put it another way. You are Jerry Reese. If Reese had listened to some of us last time we did this we might actually be in the playoffs this year. http://www.sportswrath.com/index.php?showtopic=42112&hl=%2Bjerry+%2Breese Here's what I would do: Coaching - Gilly can stay, but Fewell is gone. Go after Romeo Crennel with all your might, and bring in Mike Sullivan to whip Eli back into shape. QB - Eli is obviously ypur starter, but bring in a backup that can get a few wins if Eli goes down. I'd look hard at both Matt Moore and Chad Henne. RB - we need a legit every-down guy to pair with Wilson. I'd look at a back in the draft, somewhere between rounds 5-7. Bradshaw can't stay healthy and you need feet to run. WR - Keep Hixon and Cruz, develop Randle, sign Barden for insurance on the cheap, or get David Nelson cheap if you can't get Barden. Jernigan is gone, and Nicks should probably walk too. TE - doesn't matter, Eli hates them. OL - re-sign Boothe and Beatty for the right price. Go after Jeff Faine and slide Baas back over to guard. Get the best RT you can in the draft. Everybody else walks. DE - JPP is your RE, Kiwi competes for LDE with Tuck. Ojomo rotates in a bit more with Tracy. Get a guy in the first 3 rounds to develop. Osi is gone (Tuck may be too). DT - sign two fat guys for the veteran minimum and stop wasting cap space on the Rocky Bernards and Chris Cantys of the world. Joseph is your pass rusher, not fucking Kiwanuka at NT on passing downs (wtf)? Dwayne Hendricks gets a hard look. LB - keep Boley and get rid of everyone else. Rey Mauluga comes in, and we (finally) draft an outside LB. Chase Blackburn comes in as a backup at OLB and MLB. CB - Draft someone to back up Prince and Hoseley. Keep Webby but at a serious pay cut. TT is done. S - Jarius Byrd comes in if we couldnt get any of the other FAs I mentioned above. Otherwise we go with Rolle and Brown, and draft a backup in the first 3 rounds. K - someone with NFL calibur leg strength, please. -
The guy ignores need positions every year (LB, OL) to draft fourth-stringers at other positions (WR, DE). But what's up with free agency? Two years ago we got one guy... David Baas. Last year we got One guy and it was Sean Locklear. Why can't we sign an impact player? Last one we got was Boley and that was four years ago... where is all the money going?

I think Reuben Sandwich might make Nicks expendable. In fact, they're so alike I think that may have been the plan all along.

I can't disagree with anything written here.

This. Our team was never very good to begin with. The whole, "well, we can just turn it on when our backs are to the wall" mentality is fucking bullshit.
-
The team has a few problems, but the most glaring to me: Both lines underperform, are overrated, and frankly, just flat-out suck. In year 9, our qb is still a total enigma. Our GM doesnt seem to care much about any position besides DE and WR, and the coaches can't adjust.

The Giants should have listened to me.

Goodbye Chris Snee and David Diehl. I heard Disneyland is replacing sone turnstiles so you'll surely not be unemployed for long. Goodbye Corey Webster. I'm going to Giants training camp and will surely beat you out for the corner job. Goodbye Perry Fewell. Our next DC will know that you don't put a speed DE (Kiwanuka) at DT in any situation, ever. Goodbye Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora. Oh wait, are you guys gone already? Goodbye entire Giants linebacking corps. Try to avoid LT and Harry Carson on your way out the door.
-
I always wonder that. Dude has been in the league for 9 years, has two rings, two MVPs, two Pro Bowls, and is still such an enigma. I wonder how he'd do without Gilly... he could flourish or totally flop.
-
But they're #2 in Red Zone defense.

I don't always understand how these things work in regards to cap hits and the like. I know sometimes you can cut a player but you're still responsible for part or all of their salary anyway. However, of those guys, here are the ones I don't think are worth their salary: Diehl- 7,450,000 - dude is flat-out done. Got old overnight and that's a shame, because he's always been an unselfish guy. Tuck - 5,600,000 - see above. Canty- 8,200,000 - was honestly never worth the money. He's a B, B- player that's been making A+ money... plays DT but can't stop the run to save his life. You can get a fat guy in there for the veteran minimum that gives you everything Canty does. There's some other guys in there that I'd say are on the fence (Baas, Boley, etc) but I'd be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for another year.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... this team is the most Jekyll and Hyde team I've ever seen. We could go out and beat Baltimore by 60 points or the team might not even get off the plane. This feels like 2007 or 2011, but it feels equally like 2009 and 2010... both years we missed the postseason.

So it turns out we're on the outside looking in...

If we win out we're in. -
I discredited his acting work for years because whenever he opened his mouth, all I could hear was "C'mon, c'mon! Feel it, feel it! Feel the vibration!"
-
"Yes."
-
For me it was fourth-and-one.
-
If the Giants are going to lose, I'd rather have them lose like this. By halfway through the second quarter, I knew I could turn it off and get some much-needed work done.
-
What up sucka? Where you been?
-
Thanks man. Good luck in your game as well.
-
Because I'm admittedly nerdy - playoff possibilities

This is awesome man. Thanks! -
Just Adcock?

Is he going to break Michael Strahan's single-season sack record? He needs one per game to tie it.
