  1. Yep. I think Jacksonville would beat us right now.
  2. Justin Pugh is probably our best lineman.... which is like being the fastest kid in the Special Olympics.
  3. Seriously, should we kick the tires on this guy? He can't be worse than what we've got.
  4. That's what happens when you have zero playmaking linebackers.
  5. 1. What will JPP give us? He's looked like a shadow of his former self through two games, and is getting pushed around and sealed off at the edge. I know he's hurt, and in the great Giants tradition we're playing him anyway over the "depth." This guy has to show that he wasn't a one-year wonder. It's time for JPP to decide... is he Michael Strahan, or Kevin Carter? 2. Is Eli going to look like a Pro Bowler or like a middle of the pack guy? Three picks weren't his fault I'd argue, but that's still four picks in two games. He usually starts slow in the first two games each season, then turns it on in the second half of game 3. The team really needs him to do that today. 3. Will the offensive line, finally together as a group for more than a week, play better? Baas and Snee haven't played very well. On the other hand, the same 5 guys are together for the first time since the season started. Hopefully some continuity will get them playing better. Eli is getting killed back there, and if they don't step up their play, it's going to be a long season. 4. Will the linebackers progress and be competent? Hell, I'll just answer this one myself: no.
  6. Paysinger has not been good. He may have a decent stat sheet, but he doesn't read well, whiffs on tackles, and when he does make the tackle it's 5 yards down the field. We have no NFL caliber linebackers on the team right now. None.
  7. Whassup Plax! Dude, I think you may have made the "possibly dead" thread last year!
  8. Good or bad move? The Colts now own 2 of the top 3 picks from last year's draft.
  9. I thought he went to the Foghorn Leghorn school of stuttering and stammering. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V49TuPc7hmQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSPaLiTBL3E "Now Victor Cruz runs I said a-runs down the, a-down the field..."
  10. Me too. It's not because he's religious like everyone says... lots of athletes are religious. It's because he beats you over the head with it. Dude doesn't need to thank Jesus before answering every single question. You love Jesus... we get it. Could you now answer why you threw four picks today?
  11. Actually, his other nickname is "the black Kid and Play."
  12. I'd take Rhodes on the team. Hopefully we sign him.
  13. Everywhere around the league, I keep seeing jerseys with dark patches under the arms, and on the belly... what's up with that? It looks like every player is sweating like a pig before the first snap.
  14. It's been going on since our linebacker trio was Antonio Pierce, Kawika Mitchell, and Kiwi. We replaced Mitchell with nobody. Then we replaced Pierce with nobody. Finally, we replaced Kiwi with nobody. You can only get away with that for so long.
  15. You think that's bad... Joseph, Patterson, and Rogers are all up for new contracts after this season. We'll be back on the DT carousel in another six months.
  16. Is it just me, or does everybody throw for 400 yards per week now?
  17. And that's the problem. We've been spending late round picks to "develop" talent, but as you say, the talent isn't there. Mosely? He's shown nothing. McCants? He's shown plenty... like he can't hold up against third stringers. I have no idea why he's still with the team. The craptastic linebackers we've drafted (like Greg Jones and Phillip Dillard) aren't even in the league anymore. "Developing talent" is great when there's talent to develop, but otherwise, you have to look to free agency... and we just haven't done that. I'm glad we re-signed Cruz. I think we can safely let Nicks walk at this point, and I'm getting there with JPP... outside of one All-Pro season, the guy has shown nothing. I'm more than willing to let them go so we could get an impact linebacker and mauling guard.
  18. Snee is bad. Baas is bad. Kevin Boothe is a C+ kind of guy. That's the problem. We knew going into this season that we had a deficiency at two positions; OL, and LB. So what did Reese go an do? Sign two guys to the DL, draft two more, and get some free-agent WR pickups. We didn't go after a Guard or Center. We didn't try to pick up any of the decent linebackers out there... and there were guys that were available. We didn't draft anybody sans Pugh. Not for nothing, but Louis Murphy, Dan Connor, Ryan Nassib, Damontre Moore, and Jonathan Hankins aren't exactly setting the world on fire right now. In short, Reese fucked up. There's plenty of blame to go around... Eli looks like shit, Killdrive's offense sucks in the red zone as usual... nobody is "on the same page," but at the end of the day, we don't have the horses for the race. If we don't turn this around quick, it's gonna be a long-assed season.
  19. That's right... after precisely sixty minutes of football... in the ultimate knee-jerk reaction... this question is actually taken seriously on ESPN.
  20. With Sash gone and Will Hill suspended, we can pretty much count the 3-safeties thing out.
  21. Everybody who's worth a shit is taken up. Obviously, we should have gotten an NFL caliber player at the position when we had the chance. As I see it, our only options are: 1. Sign Michael Boley and deal with him beating up his kid, 2. Trade one of our 375 defensive tackles for an adequate linebacker, and re-sign Marvin Austin, 3. Settle for whatever shitbackers we picked up off the scrap heap this week. Knowing Reese, I see us going with door #3.
  22. In all seriousness though... that was an awesome seventeen minutes we got out of Connor.
