  1. Dear sir... you may have jinxed this team by disgracing Ramses Barden in the past, but don't you ever... EVER... compare Gilbride to beer again. Not even a shitty beer like Natty Ice.
  2. Yeah... now that Al Davis is dead, probably not.
  3. So aside from slitting your wrists for the benefit of the team, what would you do? I know what I would do: 1. Get rid of Killdrive, but keep Coughlin. I still feel like Coughlin is a pretty good coach, but this gameplan from Killdrive is just fucking awful. It's pretty obvious we've been winning in spite of him, not because of him... the talent isn't there this year, and the guy can't make an adjustment to give his players a shot. I'd keep Fewell for one more year; I really don't feel like it's the D that's killing this team. 2. Trim the fat. Here's who needs to go: Tuck, Snee, Diehl, Scott, Herzlich, Jernigan, Murphy, Baas. Guys who need to restructure to stay are Beatty (he just looks fucking terrible), Jenkins, Myers, and Rolle. Offer mid-level contracts to JPP and Nicks, but neither has set the world on fire with this team (that's two JR first-rounders that look to be one-year wonders... he knows how to pick the one-year guys). One-year deals can go to Rivers and Boothe. Everyone else that's a free agent can walk. 3. Sign Richie Incognito, and trade down in the draft to get a playmaking LINEBACKER and fucking GUARD, for Christ's sakes... I say the same thing every fucking year. Incognito might be on the downside of his career, but he's feisty (borderline dirty) and wouldn't get pushed around like a girl... unlike the shit players the Giants are trotting out at OL with no heart. Stick him with a good rookie and a guy like Boothe for insurance and it might not fix everything, but we wouldn't have THE WORST line in football. I'd also take a stab at a mid-level LB like a Karlos Dansby, Desmond Bishop, Nick Barnett... you know, guys we should have gone after this year in free agency. Give one of those guys a one-year deal to mentor a younger guy. 4. Eli; you need to take a pay cut. End of story. There is no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
  4. We're not paying him after this season anyway. We might as well get something now. I'm cool with a third for him.

    Reese

I went mountain biking at the start of the 4th . What did Scott do?
  6. There was a rumor the Lions were interested in a trade. I'd take it at this point.

    Reese

Here's where I place blame, in order, for this shitty season: 1. Jerry Reese. The guy had one knockout draft of one-year wonders back in 2007 and has been riding the coattails of that success ever since. In another thread I went over how nobody is left from his first draft, and overall he's had many more misses than hits... but take a look at what's happened over the past six years. O'Hara and Seubert were replaced with nobody. Pierce Mitchell, and Kiwi were replaced with nobody for LB. The "fierce pass rush" is the worst in the NFL, and we've "stockpiled defensive linemen" who can't play. He's had colossal misses in the early rounds of the draft (Austin, Sintim, etc.) and his developmental talent doesn't have the talent to develop. Think about this for one second... when was the last time we had an ADEQUATE player that was a third-round draft pick? 2. Gilbride. He doesn't adjust the game plan, and honestly, he puts the players in position for failure due to his rigidity. How many times do we have to see Brandon Myers whiff on a block before we fucking TAKE HIM OFF THE LINE? Why can't we ever line up in the power-I, and let our backs get three yards and a cloud of dust? Why, when Eli is sacked six times IN A QUARTER are we not going to three step drops and short passes? How many times do we have to see Eli and a receiver "not on the same page" that leads to a pick? This guy has had his run, and it was a good run... but I'd like to see what Eli can do with an offense without 3 optional routes and 12 pre-snap reads before he retires, and with a coach that doesn't put the fucking Brandon Myers' of the world on the line to get his ass handed to him. 3. Everybody else. Yeah, Eli looks bad, and the entire D and O-lines look bad. In fact, the whole team looks bad. But those two other guys are the crux of the problem, if you ask me. If I'm John Mara, I'm putting Reese on two year notice... he had better get some players that can actually play.
  8. What does the BBC app do? Oh, and also, I wouldn't spend another 15 bucks on these piece of shit losers if my life depended on it. This was one short football season.
  9. Every time I go there, I spend the evening uninstalling viruses, and that's assuming I even get a workable feed that doesn't crap out every three minutes. I'd rather just spend the money.
  10. 1. Download Tunnelbear. 2. After installation, set your location to U.K. 3. Go to nfl.com and buy a week-long subscription to NFL Game Pass. 4. Watch the game without having to go to the bar, blackouts be damned. Right now it's costing me 15 bucks to watch the game, way cheaper than an afternoon at the bar.
  11. No, he had neck problems too. Usually played through anything, though.
  12. I actually think it'd be awesome if it was two warm-weather teams and there was a blizzard. THAT would be an interesting Super Bowl.
  13. I'd argue that we've had some decent linebackers since then... Jesse Armstead springs to mind, and Corey Miller was decent as well. But what makes you think Banks is interested in coaching? He's very well entrenched as an analyst/radio guy.
  14. Brown isn't very good at anything but INTs. Don't get me wrong... that's HUGE... but he's neither good in coverage, nor in run support.
  15. Or Nick Barnett. Or Desmond Bishop. Or Rocky McIntosh. But hey, on the bright side... we do have Mark Herzlich, who's only been whiffing on 40% of his tackles this year.
  16. It's a little different than Johnson's "we're calling our own defense in the huddle" but I see what you mean.
  17. Carl Banks used to work with Boomer on the Westwood One radio broadcasts of MNF. Banks came right out and said, "well, Boomer's mad because Lawrence is a hall-of-famer with two Super Bowl rings, and Boomer never won anything." This was back when Taylor had the arrest for being with an underage prostitute. Pretty ballsy to say that about the guy you're sitting a foot away from at work.
  18. Yeah but I saw other games... the Jet game in particular... a WR was running a short out pattern read perfectly by the DB... the guy lets up... LETS UP... then shoulder tackles the guy about as gently as possible... but because he arrived when the ball did he got flagged. It was ridiculous. That guy should have lit up that fucking WR and not only did he hold back, but he was STILL flagged.
  19. Honestly, it's tough to imagine a FB blocking worse than Hynoski this seson. I don't know if he's just never been 100% of if he's hit a wall but his whiffs were terrible.
