  1. I was listening to Anita Marks on the podcast... and someone calls in and says, "WHY do we keep Myers on the line to block? He's terrible at it!" She says back to him, "Well, Gilbride's system asks the tight ends to block, so if you get a guy that can't do it, I mean... do you really change your scheme that's been successful to fit one guy when you've had so much success with it?" To which I replied (to no one), "YES, you stupid bitch! Good coaches change the scheme to FIT THE PLAYER, not the other way around!"
  2. I have to admit though, for the past two games Killdrive has gone to short passes instead of trying to air it out every play while Eli gets killed. I mean, you'd like to see those adjustments BEFORE your team loses six games, but better late than never.
  3. The Giants defense has been stellar for the past three games... now what is different NOW than it was 3 games ago... has there been, maybe, some new player added or a position that's been addressed? The difference is just amazing.
  4. Good thing we have so much depth at DE, so when we have injuries we don't have to... oh, wait, nevermind.
  5. That's a great question. On a line that has the likes of Kiwi, JPP, and Tuck, 6 sacks is fucking inexcusable.
  6. Unfortunately... it costs a few million to get your dick sucked when you look like this.
  7. Didn't he have something like 15 carries for 35 yards?
  8. Eli and Peyton are an unstoppable combo.
  9. Nice to see Gilbride is finally incorporating the Wildcat, Read-Option, and all those other offenses that win Super Bowls every year historically.
  10. I honestly didn't watch that game. I just read the article on NFL.com that said, "Peyton plays badly in playoff loss."
  11. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000266939/article/andrew-luck-colts-spoil-peyton-mannings-indy-return Dude has one ring in fifteen seasons. and has something like nine first-round playoff exits. He choked in the playoffs last year badly, and now he's lost in his big homecoming to the Colts. Is he the world's biggest choker?
  12. What do you expect to get for him? He's a player who has been injured every year he's been in the league that you're only guarnateed ten games out of. Nobody is going to give you a second or first... if you make it conditional, maybe you get a second out of the deal if you're lucky and the team we trade him to goes on a playoff run. Honestly, I have no idea where people on this board are getting their player values from. The Giants choices with Nicks are: 1. Pay him what he wants after this season and hamstring the rest of your team for the duration of the contract, 2. Let him walk after this season and get nothing, 3. Get something of value in a trade now and hope Reese doesn't blow the pick.
  13. We should trade him now for whatever we can get within reason. Nicks is going to want in the neighborhood of 10 million per season. If we paid him that, then a third of all our cap money would be tied up in three players: Eli, Cruz, and Nicks. Reese would have a tough time building any other position on the team. What the team needs now is cheap labor, and you get that in the draft. We should take a conditional third for him and hope Reese doesn't use it on the next Ramses Barden, Chad Jones, or Jayron Hoseley.
  14. Roc, I have no idea where people are getting this, "well, he's got trade value" from. He was a fourth-round rookie who couldn't beat out either Curtis Painter or David Carr for the backup spot... and just about every team has somebody young that they're looking to develop. Why would anybody waste any pick on Nassib when there's guys like Vince Young or Josh Freeman available that have real NFL experience and have lead playoff teams out there, or they have someone on their own roster who already knows the system? You'd be lucky to just get your fourth back for him, and I don't think you'd get better than a sixth. In fact, I don't think he has any trade value at all.
  15. Hillis, Jacobs, and Brown should give us the "thunder, thunder, and thunder" look we've been after for so long.
  16. I think this is more a sign that Wilson may be done for the year.
  17. I was saying in the other thread that when We're statistically out of the playoffs we should bench Eli and see what Nassib has got.
  18. I'm serious. When you have no chance at the postseason and there's a good chance your OC is going to get shitcanned, what benefit is there in keeping your franchise QB behind that line? More wins and a worse draft position? Career ending injury? Less experience for your "trade bait?" There's no reason not to give the young guys some reps... every team does it.
  19. I've got just as many about Randle. I don't think it's a coincidence that six of Manning's picks this season has been when he's been throwing to him. Same thing used to happen with Manningham.
  20. I think when we're statistically eliminated from the playoffs, you start Nassib. If he shows you absolutely nothing, we take best player available in the draft, which may include a quarterback.
