  1. If he can develop RBs the way he developed QBs in Minnesota, a championship is pretty much inevitable.
  2. The problem is... this WAS Nicks' "show me" season, and we got just under 900 yards and zero TDs out of him. It's actually not horrible considering how crappy the line was, and I think that'll be his agent's line when he's shopping him around, but I don't think he's back this year.
  3. It's not a bad "touche," but why did they include the pic of him fucking the turtle?
  4. I know I've said it once before in this thread, but that Richard Sherman is one class act.
  5. Wow. He really DID replace Plaxico Burress, didn't he?
  6. He'd be a steal in the fourth, and I'm sure the Giants would put him to good use.
  7. I'd disagree that Martellus Bennet became an "elite" player under Pope, but he did become a competent one (finally). Otherwise this guy pretty much nails it. Pope and Flaherty are considered some of the best position coaches in the business. Gibride, on the other hand, had to fucking go. I'm tired of hearing from apologists, "well, the team scored more points with him than at any point in team history." Yeah, name me ONE franchise that hasn't "scored the most points in team history" over the past five years. Turns out, when you're not allowed to hit the quarterback or receivers, you score the most points in team history... go figure. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if the Giants make some moves with their scouts as well. The season only ended two weeks ago for us.
  8. That's what I've been saying too. The guy will be out of position 4 of 5 plays but then make a tackle after a five-yard gain and everyone will be crowing about how well he's coming along.
  9. Holding out hope that Colin Kaepernick goes full Aaron Hernandez and is out of the league in a year. What a douche.
  10. I wonder if McAdoo will make a push to sign Jermichael Finley...
  11. Too bad. The guy made the Kevin Bosses and Jake Ballards of the world into NFL tight ends. It's a shame that Adrien Robinson and Brandon Myers soiled the guy's name.
  12. Yeah I take it back. Every reporter should be threatened for asking a player if he'd root for another team, or for assuming that Steve Smith had any friends/former college or pro teammates/interest in anything not Steve Smith.
  13. I think people are in for a very rude awakening with Stevie Brown. The picks were awesome, but those don't come along every day... and aside from the picks, he was a below-average player, and that was BEFORE the injury. I hope I'm wrong but I'm not holding my breath on that guy.
  14. Great post and not a lot I'd disagree with here. I think you can get Tuck on the cheap... say, 3 years, 13 mil. I think a guy like that realizes there's a lot more Subway commercials in the Big Apple than there are in Charlotte. I don't know that I'd keep Joseph. You drafted Hankins, you've got Jenkins locked up for another year... there's your two starters. I think Patterson can be had on the cheap. Joseph is going to command a bigger salary than he's really worth... I see a similar situation to Barry Cofield, where he was definitely a good player but not "top-5 salary at his position" good. If worse comes to worst, you can re-sign Rogers and he'll give you a decent 8 games. I'd rather spend the money on Beason. I don't care how bad his coverage is... before he showed up, when was the last time you saw a Giants linebacker shed a block to make a tackle? Maybe Antonio Pierce against Green Bay in 07? Overall though, I'd be more than happy if the Giants ended up going with the fishgut plan.
  15. Let's take a look at the playoff teams this weekend: The Seahawks are talented, but loud-mouthed assholes that have never won shit as a franchise. For all we hear bout the "12th man," that stadium has been doormouse-fucking-quiet each year the Hawks start 1-4. However since Richard Sherman runs his mouth so much, there's a great chance he ends up as an NFL analyst since it's the law that if you're a total douche (Keyshawn Johnson, Warren Sapp, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, etc) you have to become an analyst when your career is over. Tom Brady is a total fucking crybaby at this stage in his career; a complete embarassment. You can pretty much say the same for Philip Rivers, but at least Brady has won something. Plus up here I have to deal with all the annoying Patriots "fans" who have never heard of Tony Eason or Andre Tippet. Carolina has twelve year old Cam Newton... oh wait, I mean "Superman" to pair with perpetualy six-year-old Steve Smith. And seriously, who gives a shit about franchises that have been around for less than 25 years? Then San Francisco... oy... San Francisco. Will goofy assed Colin Kaepernick try to trademark spiking the ball this season? Because, you know, he invented that. Will Justin Smith ever get called for tackling O-linemen? Is this the year Charles Manson... I mean, Jim Harbaugh's heart explodes on the sideline? I guess I'll have to root for Denver... except that oh yeah, Peyton Manning always finds a new way to choke in the playoffs. I think I might just not be that into football anymore.
  16. Fish, I don't quite understand what you're saying. Stick with the guy who's schemes we know suck instead of breathing new life into the team that desperately needs it? Yes, the guy's schemes won the Lombardi. So did Mike Martz's and nobody is clamoring for him to be their coordinator. Schemes get old... it's just the way it is... and you can't hold on to "well, it worked in the past" when the past was almost two years ago (the offense was terrible for the second half of last season too). Also, don't forget it was Gilbrides shit play calling that got us OUT of the playoffs in 2008, when he decided to have Eli throw 35 passes into 40mph winds... and how well did he make adjustments after the team lost Plax? So well that we went onto win one more game total in the regular season. I personally can't wait to see how Eli does in an offense that doesn't require a dozen pre-snap reads and lets him just play.
  17. He's a very good blocker. Will probably end up covering Beatty's ass.
  18. If the Giants let him walk, it's an indicator that he really is done. From Steve Smith to Mario Manningham to Marvin Austin to Gibril Wilson, when players leave the Giants their career is effectively over. It's also a testament to how our coaching staff is better than they're given credit for.
