  1. I think its even worse for safeties. You're supposed to hit the guy... but if he's looking for the ball he's a "defenseless receiver" and you get slapped with a fifteen yard penalty.
  2. Yeah man... I didn't see it, but at 10:30 I noticed they were only halfway through the second quarter and figured it must be a flag-fest.
  3. Good point... however, the question remains: is he "playing his little ass off?"
  4. I hear ya, man. I've said it before... if football weekends weren't such a big deal in my family, I wouldn't watch either. This product is terrible.
  5. This was exactly how I explained the game in a text message to my fiancee.
  6. SSpecial teams, Cruz, Jennings. In that order.
  7. True but it was on a tip. I can't fault him too much for it. I blame Cruz for the three drops much more than Eli.
  8. Honestly, there's a ton to feel good about this game. Eli looked comfortable... even GOOD in the new offense. The line protected much better today (though the run blocking still blows). Our pass rush looked phenomenal, and Ayers looks like a good bookend to JPP. Donnell looks like a real fucking NFL tight end. If we don't shoot ourselves in the foot we win. There's no one to blame for this but the Giants. However I feel much better about the season moving forward, and if we can sneak out 2 wins to get to .500 by the end of September and learn to not snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, I think we have a chance to have a good year.
  9. Eli played great today. I don't care what the stat sheet says... one pick was on a tip and the other was in garbage time. If the special teams didn't gift wrap 10 points to the Cardinals, we're probably winning this game. On the bright side, our special teams coach really IS one handsome sumbitch.
  10. We've had a lot of success with Eli, and I'd never count him out. I think he shakes out the cobwebs and starts looking like the QB we expected by October.
  11. Also... and I don't give a fuck what anyone says... he was NOT a crook.
  12. Not for nothing, but Jerry Palmieri started strength and conditioning in the 80's. In that time training methods have changed, supplements have changed, nutrition has changed... but it wouldn't surprise me if Palmieri's training methods have remained largely the same. I cut down on my own personal training injuries just by doing the P90x pre and post workout stretches. My back literally was fucked up for six years before I started doing them... in nine months, I've had no back problems. It's not time for new blood there. It was time for new blood there back in 2006. We're ALWAYS injured, and Coughlin's Jacksonville teams were undone by injuries as well... guess who the conditioning coach was. This shit has to stop.
  13. These are all great points. If the offensive line can gel and play a little better, I think it'll fix a lot of the offense's problems.
  14. I think we should give the offense till October before we start burning jerseys.
  15. We have a shot in this one. Both our team and theirs have good defenses. If we can keep the score 14-10 or something similar, I think we can get a victory.
  16. I didn't get this with Gilly, and I don't get it with McAdoo either. NOBODY gave Beatty any help last night, at least not that I saw, and he was getting bitch-slapped all night. Why can't we put a TE on that side to give him a hand?
  17. Yep. We had a bottom-5 left tackle last year, and Reese wisely guessed that having him spend the offseason on crutches would make him return to form.
  18. So wait... did THIS thread make me gay?
  19. He's been seen practicing his (Ace bandage) cross patterns.
  20. Honestly, Reese hasn't had a good draft since 2008... unless you count two good players as a "good" draft.
  21. Yep. This guy has given us 5 starters in the past 5 drafts. Its pretty obvious who needs to go.
  22. Seriously, its tough to imagine anyone playing worse than this guy.
  23. Hmm. Wonder how long his wife will stick around now that Ray isn't picking up a paycheck.
