  1. Isn't there some kind of law against a team having too many good linebackers?
  2. If that fucking happens I'll be done with ALL football. No way I'm going to watch a minimum of four years with that asshole on the sidelines.
  3. Honestly though, besides QB you could pick any position and say we need an upgrade.
  4. Round 1: Best O-lineman available, or best MLB. Yeah, we need help on the line, but I'd take a QB of the defense to last ten years too. We haven't had a smart guy there since Pierce, and holy shit JaQuain Fucking Williams might be on the roster again if we don't get some playmakers there. Round 2: A fucking Center that doesn't get pushed 5 yards back when he snaps the ball, or a Guard that mauls people for once. Round 3-7: Best player available.
  5. This is the same site that will probably say something like, "Tony Romo threw for 400 yards against the Giants this past week while Marshawn Jefferson ran for 150 as the Giants fell to 1-9" in their Power Rankings. Another reason I don't watch football much anymore. They hire 12-year olds for statisticians and reporters.
  6. I was watching with an eight year old. Halfway through the second quarter, as Wilson was scampering for another 14 yards the kid yells out, "that's the EXACT same play they've run three times already!" A fucking eight-year old figured it out, but JaQuain Williams was baffled every time.
  7. Its not just that. Its the rules, the horrible officiating, free agency where every team is average, the over commentating, the celebration of assholes (Warren Sapp, Deion Sanders... now Dick Sherman). Its just not that interesting to watch anymore.
  8. Yeah, Fewell really benefitted from: 1. Winning a Super Bowl with a D that got hot at the right time, and 2. Having Beason and Will Hill come in at the right time last year and make him look like a genius. Other than that, the guy's been pretty sub-average for his tenure here.
  9. I have to disagree, Nas. Football is terrible these days. I went from watching 3-5 games a week to 3 quarters of football a week. If football wasn't a big focal point of my family gatherings I wouldn't watch at all.
  10. I think this is why the "Read-Option" offense is going the way of the Wildcat and the Run and Shoot. People are figuring out, "oh, we don't know if the QB has the ball or not... well, fucking drill him and find out."
  11. Tough to score when you can't make it past the 40, for sure.
  12. BiC posted something about Wellington and John Mara. Shit changed on this thread.
  13. Wellington Mara swore while he was alive that he'd never sell PSLs to fund a stadium. He put the league ahead of his own team and was largely unconcerned with profits, and understood that putting the fans first in regards to ticket prices, concessions, and parking was how you made a profitable business. John Mara is NOTHING like his father. I wouldn't put anything past him.
  14. I'm almost thinking we have to blow the whole thing up. Part of me says, "hey, just fire Fewell, get rid of Reese and keep TC and Eli." But the other part of me says, "cool... and by the time the new GM gets 'his' team built in 3-4 years, Eli will be ready to retire and Coughlin will be 100 years old." This team is just terrible... but I put 75% of it on Reese. This roster is awful.
  15. When I was bitching that the third-and-long draw play was being overused, and it kept killing our preseason drives? Yeah...
  16. After ranking 25th in passing yards, and 30th in passing offense overall, I'm thinking that the "Russel Wilson is elite" conversation has gotten awfully quiet. However, I'm sure after today the Giants will have that fixed. GO GIANTS!
  17. Lawrence Taylor could literally sack the QB every play.
  18. If we're going to point fingers and place blame, I'd hold Fewell more culpable than McAdoo moving forward. Reasons being: 1. McAdoo has literally one NFL-caliber receiver on the roster playing, and zero NFL-caliber backs. Williams might develop into a nice back, but he's sure as hell not one right now. 2. When McAdoo had healthy backs and receivers, the offense was actually pretty decent, albeit against total shithole teams. 3. Yeah there's been injuries on defense too, but Fewell's defense still sucked when he had the "best defensive backfield in the NFL," and we've got a large enough sample size to know moving forward that on his best days, he's a B- to C+ coordinator. If I was gonna fire one of them, it'd be Fewell, even though overall as a unit, the offense has been worse than the D.
  19. I'm in a fantasy league as a favor to my uncle and honestly, I've watched maybe 10 hours of football this season, and none of those hours were on teams other than the Giants. I haven't submitted a single waiver claim. I've still managed a 3-5 record.
  20. Don't get me wrong, I liked the Fewell game plan. Way better to have them hang 40 on us and have some bruises the next day than 40 and a clean jersey. Who knows, maybe you get lucky and knock the QB out of the game (although with the Giants, the backup usually comes in and looks like Johnny Unitas).
  21. I think 9-7 is still where we'll finish. I think we're losing two of the next three, then winning out. Still not enough for the playoffs, but it'll save a couple of jobs and make sure we get just under a blue-chip player in the draft.
  22. 11. JaQuain Williams - watch this FB or TE turn a three-yard pass into a first down AGAIN! Time to move on to your career at Tire World, JaQuain...
  23. Granted, I usually don't make it to the second half of a Giants game anymore but everytime I see him out there he looks good. Consistently draws the double-team, still gets a good push, and is a beast against the run. I think without the sack numbers we can actually nab him on the cheap in the offseason.
  24. I see your point, but MY point is that there are three guys in four draft classes STILL ON THE TEAM and producing. Nicks helped us win a Super Bowl which is immeasurable... and then what? Joseph was a nice player, and is probably a nice player in Minnesota. He's not a nice player on the Giants. 4 guys from 2014? Do you really think JaQuain Williams, Jerrel Jernigan, and James Brewer are NFL caliber players? Yeah, there's been a ton of injuries, and I'm not sure who to blame for that. Jerry Palmieri has been with Coughlin since his days in Jacksonville... and Coughlin was run out of Jacksonville because he had three years where 15 players wound up on IR. I'm pretty sure Palmieri is having guys do routines that worked back in 1985. But Reese takes chances on these guys too. Sometimes you get a Jessie Armstead and it works out... but lately we've been getting a lot more Terrell Thomases. At some point, you have to stop making excuses and start drafting better. I'm hoping these last two are steps in the right direction.
