  1. Wasn't he healthy LAST year? This year was the one where he was recovering from the broken leg. Regardless, he probably has been the best lineman.
  2. Raise your hand if you give a shit what Tiki Barber thinks.
  3. Not with JD Walton as your center. That guy might as well line up in the backfield.
  4. What has Nassib done so far to make anyone think we'd get more than the 4th we spent on him?
  5. ...but at least 3 of Eli's picks were directed at guess who? Ruben Randle. Also, it was awesome watching Randle totally pull a Plax Burress and watch the defender take the ball and run with it while old Rubes casually strolled around the field.
  6. This. You need to PLAY somebody and DEMONSTRATE THEIR VALUE if you want to actually get something for them.
  7. I've been watching just Giants games until they're down by 3TDs. So in other words, I'm watching about 2 quarters of football per week... down from the 4-5 games per week I was watching two years ago.
  8. The GM and all coaches are gone. I'd love to see Cowher here since he's a veteran that knows how to build from the ground up and knows how the Maras work, but JR and co. have to be out of here. As far as the players go: QB - Eli and Nassib both stay. Eli's gone after he plays out his contract and we either groom/draft a kid in the next year or see what Nassib's got. RB - Jennings and Williams can both stay, but we need someone else here. Not sure Williams has it as much other than a short-yardage guy until he starts seeing the holes better. WR - Beckham is the real deal and a guy you can build around. We keep our fingers crossed that Cruz returns to form. Everyone else is gone. TE - Everybody goes. Yes, Donnell is too invisible for too many games, and his blocking is flat-out awful. OL - Pugh and Richburg can stay. With Beatty and Schwartz we have no choice on due to their contracts. We (once again) need at least three serviceable guys here. Walton is pretty terrible and so is the guy from Miami; ditto for Charlie Brown. LB - McClain isn't great but is good enough to keep. Literally everyone else needs to go, aside from maybe Kennard who might develop. This unit remains pathetic under Reese. DBs - Rolle is over the hill; I admire his tenacity but show him the door. He's not a guy to build around. DRC is staying, and I'd offer Prince a good contract; he's a keeper. Everyone else needs to seriously be looked at to see how they bounce back from injury. DL - Hankins is a flat-out beast. I'd keep Jenkins just as veteran insurance, and offer a middle-of-the-road contract to JPP. Ayers deserves another year to see if he's really this good. Moore needs more playing time. I have a feeling that could be the core of a pretty decent line. Kiwi and Patterson can both walk. That's what I would do. Cut the junk and let Cowher work his magic... dude went to the playoffs with guys named Maddox, Tomczak, and Stewart as his QB. He'd be my guy.
  9. This era of Giants football is over. Its been a great run, but its closing time... these guys have to go. Everything that has plagued the Giants was on display today. A bad roster thanks to Reese's shitty drafts. Horrible play calling. Mistakes. Eli throwing five picks. Reese needs a "Thanks for everything" and to be shown the door. Coughlin is still a very good coach but when your assistants are terrible, that's ultimately on you. Quinn and Fewell should have been gone years ago. Give Tom a gold watch and a front office job. Eli can play out the rest of his contract while we groom the next guy, unless a team like Houston wants to give us something worthwhile in a trade. But he's not the future either. And those of you praising Ben McAdoo... please, just fucking stop. He's a TERRIBLE coordinator. We need a clean sweep and a new era. This last era has been GREAT... but its over, guys. Time to start fresh.
  10. LOL. "Another key player?" JWill is the linebacker equivalent of Elivs Patterson.
  11. Not only are we winning, but this is the weekend where the win STREAK actually starts en route to a 9-7 finish.
  12. Jennings is the only NFL-caliber back on the roster right now. Williams might get there at some point but right now his vision is terrible.
  13. I don't know that we were "unprepared..." we had a lead at halftime, and the game was tied in the 4th until the Seahawks blew the doors open. The problem as I see it is the opponent made halftime adjustments, while the Giants did not. Still an indictment of the coaching staff, but for a different reason. Also, JWill has to go. I know Spencer Paysinger isn't anything special, but he's probably a C- linebacker where Williams is probably a D-
  14. ODB has the POTENTIAL to be better than many in that bunch, but he's not yet. Dude's been in 4 games... he could become part of the Giants injury bug tradition and be out of the league in two years.
  15. I dunno, man. Quarterbacks aside, just take a look at our skill guys compared to the rest of the division: Giants Eli Manning Rashad Jennings Larry Donnell Odell Beckham Cowboys Tony Romo Demarco Murray Jason Witten Dez Bryant Eagles Nick Foles Shady McCoy Brent Celek Jeremy Maclin Redskins Robert Griffin Alfred Morris Fred Davis DeSean Jackson Not for nothing, but our "skill" guys are #2-#3 guys in the rest of the division.
  16. I don't get this either, but its been Coughlin's M.O. since he's been here. "Hey, we've got an unknown commodity who might be a good player or might be terrible... but you know what? Lets stick with the guy we KNOW sucks." Honestly, the ends should be JPP and Ayers. The latter seems like he could be a real difference-maker if he got more snaps.
  17. I dunno man... whenever I think of living in 1985, I think of the greatest era of music in the history of man. Ahh, the glory days.
  18. Just my point of view. Coughlin doesn't spit and swear and throw his headset and try to fistfight the Lions coach. Harbaugh is just so over the top... I'd be embarrassed if he was the coach.
  19. Exactly. Why is this article anointing him as the "head coach in waiting" when at the midway point he's a slightly worse-than-average coordinator statistically?
  20. Looks to me like the NY media trying to make a story that isn't there.
  21. Not for nothing, but where the fuck does all this McAdoo praise come from? Their offense is 18th in the league, and they've failed to score over 20 points in 5 of their losses. Even worse, they've consistently been outscored in the second half... a sad indicator that McAdoo isn't making the necessary halftime adjustments. Its awesome that he's not Gilly, but he's not setting the world on fire, either.
  22. Honestly, Marshawn Lynch does that to everyone. There's a reason I really wanted the Giants to pick him up three years ago.
  23. You know, why does it have to be one or the other? Can't it just be both? Can't we just agree Jerry Reese has shitty drafts, and also the players that make the team all end up injured? I don't know why we can't find some middle ground, here.
  24. Here's a summary of why I don't watch the Giants if Jim Harbaugh becomes the coach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQsTM0Xq9oQ Seriously, I'm not going to watch this fucking asshole further ruin a sport I used to love. Have a shred of dignity.
  25. Another reason football sucks now. The new Collective Bargaining agreement pretty much cut the number of training camp practices in half, and severely limited the number of "contract drills" you can have in practices. Essentially, the first two games of the season are still preseason games (based on the play; players are TOTALLY unprepared), and you're no longer allowed to teach players how to tackle by actually... tackling... in practice during the season. On the plus side, its clearly reduced the number of injuries. :eyeroll:
