Reese has done the same in the past where we clearly have needs going into the draft (LB and TE) and he completely ignores it.
On the plus side, he will go all out and sign an Aaron Curry or trade for a Keith Rivers.
Look at the game film. Dude's feet are too slow to play LT, and probably RT. I mean... they're pathetically, ridiculously slow. NFL speed rushers will eat that kid alive.
He's a guard, and you don't take a guard at 9.
We're going WR or pass rusher.
I think we can forget about JR taking an O-lineman in round 1. He's already gone on the record as saying he'd take a playmaker over an O-lineman if given the chance, and there's going to be plenty of playmakers in that spot. The only question really is do we go D-lineman or WR?
The thing too is, how many teams are really looking for a veteran QB to come in and play for four years at that price? Most clubs either have their franchise QB in place already or have a young guy they're developing. I mean, there's always the Raiders but is that how a guy like Eli really wants to end his career?
That's kind of what I think too.
The Giants are hedging their bets in case 2015 ends up like 2014. With Coughlin out, Reese will get to hire his own guy with his own vision of how he wants things to be (though I'd hope they'd let Reese go too). If Eli wants to be a part of that it's fine, but if he prices himself too expensively he can hit the market.
Exactly. Reese's shitty drafts have really crippled this team and the FA class was pretty terrible last year too. Again, if the Giants don't make the playoffs he should be the first to go.
I think if you combined an updated classic type mask for football.
With something to keep players' noses from breaking...
You could probably get something that not only is safer for players, but looks really cool. Hell, designing the faceplate might become part of a team's logo... you could end up with something cool like this.
I know Nem would approve.
Even worse, he tries to be a vocal leader by talking smack about the other team (there will be BLOOD!) and then finishes the game with one tackle. That's not just poor performance, that's embarrassing.
This is pretty much exactly my thinking as well. We keep getting "depth signings" when we don't have actual starters at the same positions... and we can't think that Cruz and Beason are going to be able to contribute this year. Cruz may never play at a high level again, and Beason has missed something like 35 games in the past five years.
