Yeah, its still possible we'd take a shot on the guy, but not with the 9th overall pick. He's still there in Round 3? Sure, take a shot at him... Reese loves the risk/reward guys in those rounds. But no way are we picking a guy with character concerns after the Will Hill fiasco with the 9th pick.

The "real" refs fuck up calls that cost teams wins literally every week, it's just not as big a news story because they aren't under the same microscope.

That was certainly part of it. The other is that Jerry Reese thought Paysinger, Curry, Jones, et. al. were nfl caliber players.

I wonder if Snyder is trying to tank it and get the first overall pick in 2016? He didn't go on his annual "spend top dollar for aging FA" binge this year either.

I have mixed feelings about him. On one hand the guy is definitely a guard and I don't think you take a guard that high. On the other, our O-line is pretty much all holes and question marks and a mauler on the inside would be good both for Eli and Williams, who can't see holes to save his life. If we could trade down and still nab him that'd be ideal, but I'd understand taking him at 9.

I thought it was "we line up wide and they run for 9." At least that's how it used to be when the Eagles ran it.

I don't think it should be every single one either, but I'd bet the Giants aren't even getting 10% starters out of their third round guys in the past 20 years or so. True, but I'd bet its better than the Giants' percentages. Off the top of my head I can think of Tuck and Manningham and that's about it. George Young used to find quality in that round... why can't Reese?

I remember reading an article about NFL GMs a few years back that basically said every GM expects that their 1st rounder will be a high-impact player/Pro Bowler type, the 2nd and 3rd round guys will be solid starters, 4th-5th round are role players and everyone else are basically "jackpot" type guys. This idea that GMs don't expect production out of third-rounders is hogwash.

I'm not asking for Hall of Famers, but if we could pick more Justin Tucks and less Jayron Hosleys and Jerrell Jernigans, I'd be pretty stoked.

I say we do it every year if the NFL PROMISES to take away the Giants 3rd round pick. Jerry Reese pretty much makes sure we have no third-round pick anyway based on most of his selections.

Did the Patriots get penalized at all for... you know... cheating to get to the Super Bowl?

Maybe I'm just crazy but his feet looked slow in that video too. This guy is not an NFL tackle, guys. I think he's an All Pro guard, but not a tackle.
