  1. Well, the Jets didn't come down and score on the opening drive, so that's encouraging. That Unga kid looks pretty good running with the ones as well.
  2. Brown isn't good in coverage or run support, but honestly, the Giants are SO thin at safety we might want to take a look.
  3. That's the truth. However, the guy has pretty clearly cut his own throat too. The Giants like to claim they're "on the cutting edge of medicine" or whatever but I think that's just lip service. Palmieri has been terrible for a really long time and Coughlin won't let him go.
  4. So wait, another Reese pick who "has all the physical tools but couldn't put it together in college" is going to be cut? I am shocked... SHOCKED... by this news!
  5. A player who's jersey I'll continue to wear with pride. People forget what a force he was... dude was good for a strip sack every other game it seemed like. I can't name one guy on the team that's good for it now.
  6. It's not just you. The Giants podcast has at least four callers per day saying he needs to be a day 1 starter.
  7. How do you know the Giants O-line is in trouble? Giants nation is clamoring for... Bobby Hart to be a starter.
  8. Eli Manning was the Super Bowl MVP twice, holds every major passing record for the franchise, and has been a model citizen and class act since day one... not a small feat in the New York Media. Moreover, he's the quarterback for a Mara-owned football team. He'll leave whenever HE decides to leave.
  9. The question that will determine if I missed out: Did the Giants run the legendary Mac-Adoodle third and long draw play? No game is complete without it, preseason or otherwise.
  10. So I missed the game last night, but here's what I gathered: 1. Eli and the passing game looked out of sync, and ODB was alligator-arming it (not that I blame him... it's preseason with two other starters injured). 2. More injuries at LB and Safety. 3. J.T. Thomas had a good game. 4. Nassib looked sharp. 5. The O-line kept everybody clean, and Pugh/Flowers in particular were impressive. 6. Still no running game.
  11. There's plenty of blame to go around for sure... and as I said, TC's conditioning staff is awful... but I think Reese deserves the blunt of the criticism. It's not like these players are leaving the Giants and having great careers elsewhere... the coaches are getting what they can out of them, but that ain't much. Sure, there's cases of players being run into the ground like Hakeem Nicks, but there's also the Marvin Austins of JR's drafts that never amounted to anything with anyone. Even Linval Joseph who everyone was singing the blues about leaving didn't really do much in Minnesota last year. The hole this team is in has more to do with Reese's 2008-2012 drafts than anything. These are the years you're supposed to be getting peak production out of those guys and instead we're wondering what happened to Jerrell Jernigan and paying top dollar for J.T. Thomas.
  12. He's no J.T. Thomas or Anthony Castillas. Or whatever fucking Castillas we have.
  13. Exhibit A: for all the people who still bitch about the Eli trade.
  14. I hope you're right. I think he's 34 and it still looks like Jerry and Newhouse will be starters on the line, and we have a rookie protecting his blind side. The Giants might be competitive this year, but as the article states it'll take about a dozen things breaking their way.
  15. I'm saying this right now... Eli ain't making it out of that Bills game in week 4. It's gonna be one hell of a long season, fellas.
  16. Great article, sadly. I especially agree with the "Roster 911" section. TC is a good coach, but holy shit is his conditioning staff bad. Reese is really the guy that should go after this year, but I suspect it'll be Coughlin so that JR can finally "build his team." God help us.
  17. I think the road to Eli's extension is pretty much already paved. His career numbers are comparable to Roethlisberger and Rivers... he should be paid as such.
  18. Maybe not. However, for the third straight year the Giants starters have looked like shit in the preseason. There's still three more games to get things fixed but that display sure wasn't encouraging.
  19. The Jags with the league's best linebacking corps that we were VERY fortunate to land a marquee player like J. T. Thomas from. Did you know he had ELEVEN tackles against the Giants last year? ELEVEN! The guy was all over the field!
