  1. Shoulda drafted Johnny Football.
  2. That's true, but if I'm not mistaken the first round of that draft has been one of the worst in recent memory. Most of those guys didn't have their optional fifth-year clause offered to them. Maybe, but if I'm Reese I'm telling the Maras to give my drafts a chance now that we have a 2016 conditioning program, not a 1957 one. Yeah, those drafts from 2008-2012 were all pretty bad, but how many of those guys never saw the light of day because they were in the trainers room every week or on IR? It's too early to say if Wellman's program will keep the team healthier but we're at a way better place this season then we were last season in regards to injuries. Honestly though, I think Gettleman made Reese more than the other way around. The Pro Player Personnel department has never been the same. When Gettleman was here you'd find a few diamonds in the rough every year in free agency... an R.W. Mc Quarters, a Shaun Andrews, a Trumaine Mc Bride. Guys that weren't stars, but were going to contribute to the team and weren't going to hurt you. Since then, we've hit on the guys that it's tough to miss on (DRC, etc) but there's been a lot more Brandon Myers' than Martellus Bennets.
  3. Reese ain't going anywhere after this season. Yeah, he had terrible drafts from 2008-2012 but the last three have all been decent.
  4. Yeah game 3-4 is when you get a good feeling for what a team is going to be. Still room for improvement but if you're off to a 1-3 start, it's tough to fight back from that.
  5. Again though, if you want to make the argument that Reese is incompetent, that's fine. But he didn't ignore the OL, he just picked some bad guys. Mitch Petrus. Eric Hermann. J.D. Walton. Geoff Schwartz. Grey Rugamer. Dallas Reynolds. Newhouse and Jerry. Not to mention the guys he may have hit on... Richburg, Flowers, and Pugh. These are all guys brought in to replace the Deihl-MacKenzie line. Personally, I wouldn't take a single guy on the line now over the guy Reese inherited, but he's trying. He's just not as good at assembling a line as Accorsi was... but it's not like he's taking a 6th round guard every season. That line got old overnight, but the late round gambles and low-priced free agents haven't worked out.
  6. I think we'll have a pretty good guage of the team after the next preseason game. However, people said not to panic about things in recent preseasons that carried over to the regular season... the third and long giveup draw, poor run and pass blocking, horrific linebacking play, Gilly's offense getting Eli killed, etc. At one point we had our starting offense playing against other teams backups for three series and couldn't score during Gilly's last season... but "preseason so no big deal." All these things we were told were "no big deal," but our record past four seasons says otherwise. The games don't count but that doesn't mean it's meaningless.
  7. I thought Norman was the adult and Beckham was the little bitch last year, but I think I may have had that backwards.
  8. Totally. It's just that complete ineptitude and ignorance are two different things.
  9. Aren't blocking TEs supposed to be a dime a dozen?
  10. This. I've been on the Fire Reese bandwagon for a while now, but I think the play of the line is more because the guys they brought in (Okung, Penn, etc) were told they'd have to make a switch to the right side. It's not like Reese ignored it, and I'm sure he's still looking. Does he still deserve the most blame? Yes. This is what happens when you draft athletes instead of football players for six years. But it's not fair to say he ignored the problem, he just wants to see what we've got in Flowers.
  11. People talk about the left side being something to build on, and if you're not interested in ever running the ball it is. But none of those three guys have shown the ability to push the pile consistently. Flowers and Richburg are both young and can develop, but I think a C+ to B- is all you'll get out of Pugh's run blocking. I know I've said this for the past 5 years or so, but I'm going to say it again... the Giants need a mauling, road grating guard. When we needed a yard on third-and-one, you knew we could run behind Chris Snee and get it. Who do you run behind on this team?
  12. It's early, but right now Apple looks a lot better than Tunsil.
  13. Beatty and the Giants had a pretty rough split from what I've heard, and he's drawn interest from other teams. I'd be surprised if he came back.
  14. Didn't get to see the last quarter, but I thought the defense looked great, minus the linebackers. Still not an NFL caliber guy on that unit, which is just mind-boggling. Casillas is close, but I'd still consider him a top notch backup. The D-line looks fantastic though, and may be able to carry the lbs. The o-line is average at pass blocking, and still terrible run blockers. Worse, they're extremely thin. One injury (today it was Pugh) and everything more or less will go to shit. It's tough to gauge the backs with such shit blocking. Speaking of shit blocking, Larry Donnell needs to be off the team;he's a 265 lb pussy.
  15. I've been asking for a run blocking TE since we lost Bennett.
  16. Also, has there ever been a worse blocker than Larry Donnell?
  17. That Keenan Robinson looks like one hell of a player huh?
  18. Could you imagine how sick our line would be if that guy had worked out?
  19. How fucking lame are you to have to drug women to get laid... when you're on TV every weekend?
  20. I honestly think Vernon gets past 12 sacks and finally goes to the Pro Bowl. I have a feeling he might be the real deal.
  21. This is a great idea for a season or two, but Reese has been doing it for what... ten? For the record, I think our defense will be in the top half of the league this year but what the fuck? Is ONE comepent linebacker too much to ask? It's always backups and has-beens.
  22. Dude, you should listen to her on the Giants podcast. For a girl who played in the women's league she is so insufferably stupid it makes you wonder if she took too many shots to the head. EDIT: I didn't mean to offend you by calling you dude.
