I won't name names, but four years ago some people on these boards though Harbaugh was a genius for starting Kaepernick over Alex Smith. Well, Headcase Harbaugh is out of the league, Kaepernick isn't far behind, and all Alex Smith does is take his team to the playoffs every year.

This is why you don't have a fantasy football draft before the final preseason game. Wait till you see how pissed people get when the Patriots cut Martellus Bennett.

With Malleck, Lacosse, and Whitlock gone, and Will Johnson out indefinitely, you'd think the Giants would have to be scouring the waiver wire for some decent blocking at TE/FB. I mean, we're not really about to go into the season with Larry Donnell and Will Tye setting the edge, are we?

He doesn't play defense, and will just be out with a broken foot by week 3 anyway.

Beatty and Flowers should flip-flop positions. Will B. isn't really a right tackle because he can't run block, and Flowers can't play LT right now because his footwork and technique are still very sloppy.

Whitlock is a fun gimmick player, but there's really no room on the roster for a fullback who can't block.

Davis is the starting RG and backup RT on the Niners. That ship has unfortunately sailed.

All joking aside though, let's just think about this for a second. A team that's making a serious push for Worst Team in the NFL this season, with what may be the worst WR corps in the league just cut a former Giants second rounder that somehow managed to hang around with the team for four years, and was probably the second best WR on the team for at least two of those years. Just let that marinate for a bit.

I think we should sign him. Give a call to Marvin Austin... maybe kick the tires on Hakeem Nicks. You know, get the band back together.

Agreed. I'm hoping when Eli finally hangs it up, the team is more "post Favre Green Bay" than "post Dan Marino Miami." I have no faith in Reese to adequately prepare for the "post Eli Giants."

I've heard from members of this board that none of this matters because it's preseason.
