  1. I'm not as into college/draft as a lot of you guys are, but the idea of the Giants taking Garrett Boles #1 really scares me. They had a Utah play-by-play guy on the Giants podcast the other day and let's just say, his review on Boles wasn't glowing. Basically he said he's a work in progress, would need to work a lot on his footwork, and has trouble with speed rushers. Plus he'll be 25 when the season starts. I don't think you take a 25 year old "project" with your number one pick... by the time he's gotten his game together he may only be a few years away from 30. Plus, the Giants need to win now. Doesn't sound like a good fit. Who are you guys scared of the Giants taking?
  2. What week will Dallas fans be asking for Romo back? I'm thinking by week 5.
  3. Beat me to it. I am unhappy with your reasonable, measured reply to my comments, Wolf. You need less factual analysis and more name calling, you fart-face (like that).
  4. I thought Reese was terrible with third rounders too but somebody posted a stat back in the day of the 3rd round success rate, and while Reese is worse than your average GM it's not apples v. oranges worse. Still though,,, you have to go back to 2005 to find a 3rd round pick on this team that was a real contributor, unless you count Mario Manningham as a 3rd WR.
  5. Or was he hacked? Or high? Osi? http://www.bigblueview.com/2017/4/3/15165062/ny-giants-rumors-news-owa-odighizuwa-issues-mystifying-series-of-tweets
  6. Yes, this again... and again, I'm not the only one who thinks so. But you're correct, it wasn't 40 passes, it was closer to 30. And it was Ward, not Bradshaw. Rushing Car Yds Avg TDs B. Jacobs 19 92 4.8 0 D. Ward 12 46 3.8 0 Also, when two playoff QBs are throwing five picks and there's two missed field goals... it might be too windy for "intermediate to deep" passes all day. Al Davis seemed to think so.
  7. Let's not forget Kevin Killdrive calling 40+ passes in 40+ MPH winds in the playoffs... against the Eagles... when Jacobs and Bradshaw were putting up 6 yards a clip. Thought he was gonna show Al Davis how fucking smart he was and be the next Raiders coach. How'd that one work out for ya, Gilly?
  8. Love him, I'm rooting for him and the Jags... but honestly, I'm not holding my breath. That franchise is pretty bad from top to bottom, Marrone has no real successes to speak of and does nothing for me, and Coughlin is notorious for holding on to players and coaches for too long. It's just a matter of time before Jerry Palmieri and Mathias Kiwanuka end up down there and a third of the roster is on IR in October. Again, hope I'm wrong. Would love to catch a game or two while I'm visiting relatives in Fernandina.
  9. Rumors but nothing seems to be legit. http://www.espn.com/blog/new-york-giants/post/_/id/51276/anything-brewing-with-nick-mangold-and-the-jets
  10. Yeah I remember commenting on that as well. Turns out John Jerry is a really good pulling guard.
  11. He did well enough last year. Not spectacular but certainly didn't hurt us.
  12. I'd definitely give a third for him... though it may mean that we miss out on the next Damontre Moore, Jayron Hosely, or Jay Bromley.
  13. Plus if you tear off his arm, you can just reattach it.
  14. If we kept that line together that would just be so awesome. Four more years of DL dominance.
  15. It's a really reasonable amount to make by the market standards of today. If I remember correctly, he was getting top-3 DT money at the time of the signing. Joseph was a nice player but I'm not even sure I'd have put him in the top 10 of DTs when he signed that contract.
  16. Linval wasn't overly impressive when he was here. He wasn't horrific by any means either, but I wouldn't say he was worth that contract he signed. He developed nicely after he left, but a year prior he was the starting DT on a bottom-5 rush D. Hankins has comparable numbers at this stage in their respective careers except for that breakout sophomore season. He also has the year he was injured, but his tackles were pretty good that year too, and if you remember the rush defense really went to shit after he went down.
  17. At this respective stage in their careers, Hankins may actually be a better player.
  18. Worth taking a look at as a scrambling QB scout-type? Or is the "I sit for the National Anthem" too much bullshit to deal with?
  19. I say you've gotta give Eli the benefit of the doubt for at least two more seasons. He got no help from anyone not named Beckham on that offense.
  20. Man, I hope that's not true. I think Pugh is slightly overrated but I love his versatility and how he just keeps his mouth shut and plays wherever. I'd hate to see him go somewhere else.
  21. https://www.google.com/amp/www.bigblueview.com/platform/amp/2017/3/13/14913094/nfl-free-agency-news-rumors-signings-john-jerry-new-york-giants Not terrible I guess. He's really a backup but considering how broke we are this offseason, I suppose this is as good as we'll get. At least Fluker looks to play RT where he graded out slightly higher than Guard. I sure hope we can either get Clady from the Jets on a cap friendly deal or Flowers makes a huge leap in year 3.
  22. I think he was a little overrated. Two years go on Big Blue Kickoff live, John Schmeelk and Paul Dottino used to have a weekly conversation with me in my car. It went like this: John and Paul: I know that John Jerry, JD Waldon, and Marshall Newhouse might not be household names but let's not forget, Coach Flaherty made stars out of guys like Rich Seubert, David Deihl, and Shaun O'Hara. Me: THAT WAS TEN FUCKING YEARS AGO, JESUS CHRIST WHAT HAS HE DONE LATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Granted, I wasn't on the line with them for these conversations, but I was yelling so loudly that I'm pretty sure they could hear me.
