  1. This is probably the fifth or sixth article I've read praising this kid. Word out of camp is he's looked great throwing the ball and running the offense, and now we get this. http://www.espn.com/blog/new-york-giants/post/_/id/52219/davis-webb-is-going-to-extremes-trying-to-learn-the-giants-offense All encouraging signs.
  2. When they first started charging for PSLs, this guy came on the radio... don't remember if it was Sirius or WFAN... explained that he was mid-thirties, and he and his wife were Wall Street lawyers, and while he wouldn't tell what they made he said they both made six-figure salaries and probably did better than 99% of the households in the country. He says, 'there's a forty-year waiting list for tickets... but finally, I get the call I've been dreaming of my whole life. There are tickets available for Giants games, and they only want 25K per seat for a PSL." Guy explains how excited he is... then bounces it off his wife, who replies, "are you out of your fucking mind?" He then goes on to say, "I'm doing better than 99% of the people in this country... and if I can't afford tickets... who exactly are they going to sell them to?" John Mara made his fortune on the backs of people like my old man... who had season tickets for the Polo Grounds... then Yankee Stadium... then Giants Stadium. 40+ years of spending his hard-earned money watching the team he loved... which eventually became the family weekend outing... way too many good times in that stadium, moments I'll remember with my family until the day I die. But God forbid the Maras charge a reasonable price to keep the seats that he had for all those years... those corporate assholes are too important... now we watch on our big-screen TV at a fraction of a cost of PSLs, but I don't think any of us would trade that TV for the moments we shared in those Giants Stadium seats. Since that day, I haven't spent a dime on Giants or NFL products (but I will buy Chinese rip-offs). That is why John Mara is a douche. Fuck him.
  3. Good thing we drafted Forrest Lamp. Looks like he'll be pressed into some early duty.
  4. I've been watching less specifically because of the hype and oversaturation. I have ESPN and NFL network but I'm tired of listening to assholes like Dick Sherman and Warren Sapp. Of course, I'm likely the minority.
  5. Something that's being overlooked... while Lewis JR was only an average receiver he was a really good special teams player last year.

  7. Fuck. Now we're never going to make the playoffs. JR YOU STOOPID IMGRATE SIGN JEREMY MACLIN NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I've seen four of these articles come across my news feed but none of these fucking geniuses seem to note that our right handed QB is batting lefty. *edit - other than the story I posted. https://www.google.com/amp/nypost.com/2017/06/03/the-best-worst-and-weirdest-giants-at-playing-softball/amp/ Guess there's no bar exam equivalent to be a Giants beat reporter.
  9. I just think if I'm able to squat 1200 lbs I work a little more on that 100lb bench press.
  10. Pretty funny that four years ago some on these boards were heralding Kaepernick and Harbaugh as the gold standard by which the Giants should start planning for their future.
  11. We do? Because since the Super Bowl season, our record has been 39-41. Last year was pretty awesome and that's only a losing record by one game, but coincidentally, we had our worst group of linebackers in the four years since the Super Bowl. Last year's guys were serviceable, but I don't see any of them as playmakers. At the end of the day, Zach Cunningham and Gerald Hodges are probably going to make a lot more plays for their teams than Devin Taylor and Duke InYourNacho, who may not even make the team. I don't understand why we keep passing on good talent on a very needy unit for average-to-bad talent on the stacked ones.
  12. I was going to make the Taylor comparison too, and I'm pretty sure he used to skip just about all of training camp. I think Strahan skipped out on part of camp too if I'm not mistaken. Nobody seemed to care when those guys showed up and wrecked people though, and I doubt the fans will care if Beckham does the same. As we've seen in the past though, the only man who can stop Beckham is Beckham, so I hope the media spotlight non-stories don't get into his head. There's rumors he's dating Iggy Azalea too.
  13. We pass on good LBs in the draft and free agency regularly.
  14. That's my argument. Why does it take 10+ years to get a good linebacker on this team?
  15. Taylor had a decent year two years ago, and a bad one last year. His other two years in the league from what I've heard were also nondescript. He had a 39.1 grade from PFF (that's bad). Hodges had a better PFF grade than any Giants linebacker on the team. He had an 82.4 (that's good!) He'd be an immediate upgrade over literally any linebacker on the team, and again, graded out higher than any Giants linebacker. He also had a rather quiet career before this one. I'm not sure I completely trust PFF so take that with a grain of salt, but it does go to show that Reese once again seems not to care about an entire UNIT of the team, instead choosing to sign marginal backups at positions of strength. On a team stacked at DE with Pierre-Paul, Vernon, and promising young players like Okwara, Wynn, Odigizuwa, and Moss, we signed the second-worst DE in football instead of a decent-to-good linebacker. I guess when your best player in the unit is the unstoppable Johathan Casillas (68 PFF grade) you're all set and don't need to upgrade there. Looking forward to Jason Witten over the middle for 13.
  16. I know, right? Really says something about our linebacking corps.
  17. Taylor was the second-worst ranked pass rusher last year. The LB we let go was the third-best ranked LB in free agency, grading out higher than anybody on the roster. Stunner, I know.
  18. So the Giants had a marginal DE and a pretty decent linebacker in for visits this week. Guess which one they're signing! http://www.bigblueview.com/2017/5/24/15688334/ny-giants-rumors-news-devin-taylor-signing-duke-ihenacho
  19. Dude, that shit belongs in the porn section.
  20. I think his effort is good, and I think the coaching is probably good. I just don't think Flowers is that good. This is his "prove it" season, and it's true that he's young, but to this point Flowers hasn't done much to make you think he can be more than an adequate LT in this league. To be honest, the entire line isn't that good. I don't think they're all not trying, I just think JR may not be that great at picking O-linemen. We had this discussion before, but... Diehl, Seubert, O'Hara, Snee, MacKenzie. Who's been replaced with somebody better?
  21. Blount had 18 TDs last season. That's three times the rushing scores the Giants had as a team. I didn't want to break the bank for him either but again... in the four minute drill, who are you going to give the ball to seven straight times on this team? Who gets the ball on third-and-goal from the one?
  22. That's ok. We're planning on chucking the ball 30 times in the 4th when we're trying to run out the clock.
