  1. It was likely that the RB who's been hurt every season of his career would get hurt again. The fact that Schoen didn't prepare for this is gross negligence on his part.
  2. If we drop the Commanders and Jets games we need to have a fire sale. Start from the ground up and hope that 2023 draft is the real Joe Schoen, not 2022.
  3. 2022 not looking much better unfortunately.
  4. Dude will probably go to Denver and become the next Marvin Austin.
  5. I'd like to officially petition the mods to autocorrect Michael Penix Jr's name to "Michael's Junior Penis" for all future posts in a Lebowski-style manner.
  6. Thanks everyone for talking me back onto the ledge. I knew you wouldn't let me down.
  7. Ahh RG is what I meant. Regardless, he couldn't beat him or Bredeson, and that's a really bad sign.
  8. I think fucking up his hand last year really did him in.
  9. Yeah he was drafted to be the "fill in anywhere" first guy off the bench, but he sucks so pretty much he'll just suck anywhere. It was obvious in camp that they wanted him to be the starting LG over Glowinski but he couldn't win the job, which was pretty telling.
  10. I’m not convinced the team is this bad. So far we’ve played four teams that are legit Super Bowl contenders. We’re not at that level yet and yes, we’ve largely looked uncompetitive in those games. However, I’d also like to point out the state of our team during that stretch: - Our two best offensive players have been out (Thomas and Barkley). Our QB is about to be out. - We literally have five guards starting on the offensive line, and nobody besides Neal has played a single position for more than a game. The offense sucks, but show me the team that can go toe-to-toe with four of the best teams in the league in that state. The good news is, after the ass-kicking we’re sure to take this week, I think the next few games are largely winnable. After the Bills, the next teams on the docket are: Commanders (they suck) Jets (they suck) Raiders (they suck) That would take us to 4-5 when we play the Cowboys again. I think playoffs are out, but I can easily see a 8-9 season, which isn’t “worst team in the league.” If we lose to the Commies we'll know we can start talking about a top-5 pick.
  11. You know, I've always kind of been of the "players play, coaches coach" opinion... mostly because I coached for a bit and still had players do literally the exact opposite of what I had shown them, and have the same thing often happen in the classroom. So I decided to do an objective analysis of Giants o-linemen that have left the team recently. These are PFF grades: Nick Gates - 62.8 (current) Kevin Zeitler - 75.1 ( 2021 ) Cameron Phlegming - 71.7 (2021) Will Hernandez - 65.4 (2022), 71.0 current Mike Remmers - 70.1 (2020) These guys all fucking sucked while they were here, not to mention guys like Glowinski that seem to have gotten appreciably worse since being here. I'm starting to think it's the coaching.
  12. Those guys are steps up from what we have now.
  13. Fucking finally. It's at least worth kicking the tires on this guy.
  14. Gets run over by future Hall of Fame QB Josh Dobbs, that's what.
  15. I know this is a joke, but the four teams that beat us have four losses between them. We can probably eke out just enough wins to ruin our draft position over the next 3/4 of the season!
  16. Remember he got a neck injury after his rookie season and the doctors told him he might not play again, so he added nine inches of muscle to his neck. I know he was the butt of a lot of jokes with JackStroud fellating him at every opportunity (joemorris had a DnD Online group called the "Cult of Blackburn" lol) but he really was a tough, selfless player. We could use some more Chase Blackburns on the team.
  17. I think a smart play is to do the Kansas City/Green Bay move and draft your next QB if you think he's there when you pick. Let him sit behind Jones for most if not all of his first season while he gets used to the speed of the NFL game. If Jones balls out, you trade him for a high draft pick. He's still under contract at a very reasonable rate for two more years. If he sucks, you cut him and (hopefully) have your franchise QB ready to step in with a year of seasoning under his belt.
  18. This is what I mean when I say Schoen doesn't know what the fuck he's doing and reaches too much. Robinson and Tank Dell are basically the same player and Houston took Dell in the 4th round.
  19. Shakes I love ya guy but... I'm not sure what you or anybody else on the board sees in this guy. On that play he stops moving his feet, leans and ducks his head. His assignment is one of the three guys getting the sack. McKethan's pass blocking grade for this game was literally a 0.0 He's a bum.
  20. I think the problem is the same one we had with Reese and Gettleman. It's not that the line has been ignored, it's that our GM can't identify good talent on the line, or really anywhere else for that matter. Schoen's been here for two offseasons; he got us Glowinski, Neal, McKethan, Schmitz, and Ezeudu. Even if half of those guys played well we may have a shot, but they literally all suck; none of them has a PFF grade higher than 45. That's comically bad, and like I said in the draft thread two years ago, it looks like Shoen doesn't know what the fuck he's doing. I know a popular draft meme on here is "after the first round it's all a crapshoot" but it's not for the teams that have sustained success. Aside from maybe Kayvon and Bellinger that entire draft was a whiff, and there's a case to be made those two might not be very good either. This year's draft looks better, but you can't go into a draft with 11 picks and come out with zero good players. Schoen and Daboll did a great job pulling a rabbit out of their hat last year but we have to face the fact that this might not be the front office that will make the team successful again.
