I felt this way too. Flowers is playing out of position; he's a RT. If we had Whitworth (or somebody), Pugh, Richburg, Jones, and Flowers, that's a decent O-line. Outside of Whitworth there wasn't much available though.

You're missing the very important point that signing Whitworth would have hurt Ereck Flowers' feelings, and we don't want ANY offensive lineman to think they're not good enough.

I wasn't high on Goodson and have been really pissed that we haven't drafted or signed a decent linebacker for the past ten years, but I have to admit early returns sure look good. It's about time we hit on a late-round LB. Like I've always said... the 26th time's the charm.

I said that in the game thread. If this is how we play against the Dallas defense, what's going to happen when we start playing good ones?

It's only one game, so I'm not going to lose my mind... but still, the same problems from last season that didn't seem to be addressed in the offseason cropped up again. La'el Collins and Forrest Lamp sure look like they could have helped this team more than Evan Engram and Mykkele Thompson though. Not just that, but I'm not sure we even have our five best starters out there... Jones and Fluker both looked better to me in preseason than Jerry). The coach isn't afraid to call out pretty much any member of the team when they play poorly... I'm not sure why the O-line keeps getting treated with kid gloves. They're awful.

We're going to end up somewhere around .500 I think. We play something like seven teams coming off their bye week. The schedule really fucks us this year.
