  1. I agree... trades for players at this point make no sense. We need as many draft picks as possible to entice a new GM. Now, if we had wanted to move some dead wood for an extra 2nd or 4th (not a 3rd as none of them do anything for us anyway), I would have been all for it.
  2. Pair him with a RB that gets you three on the third-and-long giveup draw and I see many super bowls in the future.
  3. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/look-steve-smith-threatens-to-beat-up-michael-irvin-and-he-may-not-be-joking/ Is there ever going to be a time when the networks figure out that giving jobs to the league's biggest assholes may not be a great idea? This is why I don't watch any pregame shit anymore.
  4. For aging teams with a QB on the wrong side of 30, you have to build your offense with the offensive line; if not, it's like trying to build a house with a cracked foundation. As a QB gets older, you move to a power OL and a running game. We literally did the exact opposite. This isn't rocket science, but smart guy Reese couldn't figure it out. The problem isn't that it was ignored so much as that Reese can't spot talent at those positions. Pugh is pretty decent, but Richburg is a C+ player and Flowers maybe even less so. Jerry is a backup at best and we still don't really have a RT. As far as linebackers go... look at our drafts the past ten years and show me the playmaker there. We took guys early (Sintim), we took guys in the mid-rounds (Jones, Williams), and we had some guys who are adequate there (Kennard, Goodson). We even brought in some terrible free agents (McClain). But there's no doubt about it, there's much more misses than hits. With 3 interior O-linemen set to hit free agency and our entire linebacking corps minus Goodson set to do the same, is there ANYONE who wants Reese here to retool those units? Some of us wanted this two years ago, and were told this would "make us the Cleveland Browns." Well, we've won exactly one more game than the Cleveland Browns. I think it's time to give the clean sweep a shot.
  5. Actually I think Mara is the only guy that would actually want that. 6-10 might possibly save McAdoo or Reese, but it won't let us know what we have for next season. Mc and JR are fighting for their professional lives so they're not going to "see what they've got" unless they know they're returning next year; they're going to do whatever it takes to win as many games as possible and make their record look less shitty (or say, 'see? The team never quit on us!'). Right now that's Eli. The only guy sure to come back next year is the owner. If you see a switch like that, I think it would actually come from Mara.
  6. I have to admit he looks pretty good. He was supposed to be a weak blocker and I don't think he's ever going to shut down a DE one-on-one, but he does pretty well with linebackers and DBs, at least from a "stalemate" perspective.
  7. You talking about our seam-busting tight end that hasn't run one seam route all season? That guy?
  8. This product is fucking horrible league wide and has been for a while now.
  9. You know it's bad when you suffer a loss like the one today and there's not at least 3 outrage threads.
  10. That's what sucks about replay. Even watching in slow motion these retards can't get it right.
  11. Just started watching but holy shit there's some bullshit calls.
  12. Look on the bright side... now we have a shot at 6-10, and we can bring back Reese and McAdoo to completely rebuild the interior of our offensive line and restructure our linebacking corps!
  13. I've actually seen some 3 TE sets! Mike Sullivan baby!
  14. I wrote about this on another thread. As far as the injuries go, we should probably get used to it. Many of these guys have things that they'd play with if they had something to play for... but why risk having your career Hakeemed for an 0-5 team that's clearly not making the playoffs?
  15. 4 years, 18 mil. And he's only an ok blocker.
  16. We'd do a fair bit of 3 TE sets tonight, with Engram in the slot or split out wide. Lacosse, Engram, Adams, and that guy we overpaid for in free agency are all serviceable players, all have been in the offense for more than 7 days, and Denver has given up something like the 6th most points to TEs this season. Of course, I expect none of this to happen... I suspect we'll see a lot of 3-wide sets with Eli throwing to guys who were on the street a week ago and don't know the offense. Are you ready for three picks tonight?
  17. Yeah reading between the lines I think that's what DRC is pissed about. I think that guy we picked up from the Steelers got the start on the outside over him.
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlBiLNN1NhQ
  19. Yeah I read an article just now that said basically DRC has walked out three times this week. Sounds like I may have gotten it backwards, but I'm sure there's still more to come.
  20. I dunno man. Putting two and two together... 1. DRC has pulled none of that stuff since he's been here. If anything, he's played hurt and still played very well in just about every single game. 2. DRC was demoted to slot corner in favor of a rookie last season and said nothing despite being a better player. 3. When said former rookie was benched this past game, MacAdoo started that guy we signed from Pittsburgh instead of DRC. I honestly can't blame him for being pissed. He's arguably the best corner on the team and they're not giving him the opportunities in a contract year to help the team.
  21. Baby kept me up, lol. That obvious huh?
