  1. For the record, I don't agree with any of what I wrote, but that doesn't mean the Maras aren't going to fall for it.
  2. Barring a total collapse for the rest of the season, I think JR is back next year. Here's why: 1. The thing he's been most criticized for (the O-line) is quietly getting the job done it seems. Flowers seems to be ok in pass protection, Jones may actually be an upgrade over Richburg, and Wheeler looks to already be a better player than Hart (with admittedly a very small sample size). 2. Darkwa is coming on and while he's far from great, he's at least been serviceable. 3. Referencing the above two points, Reese can always say, "look, the backups were better than the starters. I don't set the lineup. Clearly, this is McAdoo mismanaging the team." 4. Engram looks like a good player, and he did draft Beckham. In fact, Dalvin Tomlinson, Wayne Gallman, and Avery Moss have all looked decent too... this whole draft may end up being pretty good. It's not what I would do at all, but I can see the argument being made on Reese behalf. I think we might be stuck with him if we get four wins, and I can almost guarantee it if we reach six.
  3. I want that Notre Dame guard that's destroying people. I saw a highlight film the other day where he was pushing 325 lb linemen 10 yards off the ball. Or, we could just stick with John Jerry.
  4. Tom Brady is the best QB to ever play. That being said, he's also the whiniest bitch to ever play. I've never seen a QB look to the refs literally every time he gets hit. What a fucking crybaby.
  5. It's almost like we should have picked up an nfl caliber linebacker this past decade though.
  6. That Travis Kelce sure looked good today, huh?
  7. So what did I miss? The world's most boring game it looks like from the score. Anybody wanna give me the Cliffs Notes version?
  8. We can suit Webb up or not... play him or not... it won't make any difference. He's a Giants third round pick and unless they're named Tuck, they never have much of a career anyway.
  9. This is all true, but I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. Reese can suck and McAdoo can too. From the backups outplaying the starters to the pathetic offense to the fueds with players to "Ummm...." when asked a simple, cardboard-cutout question, I think McAdoo is one of those guys that might be a decent assistant but isn't really head coach material. Most of us didn't want him and honestly, he wasn't that great of a coordinator to begin with IMHO. As Herc says too, it's amazing that we didn't want to let McAdoo get away to the Eagles, which may have played into the decision to hire him in the first place. I sure wish the Eagles were scoring 14 points per game. The bigger problem is that there isn't a whole lot of guys I'm excited about that are out there. Cowher is my dream pick, but I think it's pretty much just that. Sean Payton or maybe Josh McDaniels might do it for me, and Nick Saban is interesting but ultimately turned down the interview two years ago because his wife told him to. There's a strong possibility that we're going to suck for a long time, like the span between Parcells and Coughlin.
  10. Can we change Jekins' nickname to "Slackrabbit?"
  11. I'd love to end up worse than the Browns and trade our pick for both of theirs.
  12. Let's put it this way... we gave up Phillip Rivers, a 3rd, another 1st, and a 5th to essentially move up THREE SPOTS and get the #1 overall pick when we drafted Eli. Those picks are fucking gold. I'd be stoked to trade down a few spots and acquire extra draft picks. This team needs good, cheap help... plus a #1 overall pick will look a lot more enticing to a new GM and coach.
  13. Yet. Everybody needs their Cleveland Browns experience.
  14. Not without Gettleman. In many ways, Reese is the Bill Parcells of GMs... great when he's got great assisants, but pretty sub-par without them.
  15. Listened to a bit on the radio... from what I gathered, it's pretty much the same result that most of us concluded last time we played San Francisco in San Fran, correct?
  16. We got this one. The Niners are almost completely devoid of talent besides Ruben Foster (healthy players at least).
  17. I just read a report this morning that said there were no extra practice reps for Webb this week.
  18. That's the thing, he's a little too over the top. He's like Jim Harbaugh without the wins.
  19. Well, it sure didn't the first time.
  20. That's the thing too though... this guy is their pro player personnel guy. I don't follow the Patriots much but how well do they really do in free agency or with other teams' castoffs?
