  1. I thought we should have cleaned house and gotten rid of Coughlin and Reese the same year (three years ago actuall), but many on this board said "we'd be the Cleveland Browns." Instead the team went half-assed and we currently have two more wins than the Cleveland Browns. Coughlin is enjoying success in Jacksonville but they're a little more than half a season in. At this point last season many of us were bubbling over Reese and McAdoo's success, so let's not go crazy with King Coughlin's reign just yet. Blowing things up is the best thing for the organization, but Mara inspires little faith in me. The way the past 5-6 years have been handled make me think that the Giants may be in the garbage for a long time. He's selfish, he's indecisive, he sells others up the river for what look like his own mistakes. I'm not a fan.
  2. That's not a terrible plan. I could get behind that.
  3. Webb is a Giants third round pick. He's never going to do anything, because Giants third round picks don't ever do anything.
  4. Dude started off by doing the impossible... turning the most coveted sports ticket in the tri-state area with a 30 year waiting list into a 1/3 empty stadium on any given weekend. I'm not sure the younger Mara and Tisch know what they're doing.
  5. Mara can't fix the problem. Mara is the problem.
  6. This. Because of this... It's as though everyone is making shit up on the fly. "Meh our O-line is fine... uh it's not, now what should we do... let's bench some DBs... oh wait, let's not bench them... lets bench Eli... oh wait, we didn't have Webb ready so I guess it's for Geno... I dunno, maybe Eli will be back..." Nobody knows what the fuck is going on. John Mara is a terrible owner. I've thought so for a while but the past three years definitely confirms it. Remember when the Giants had a waiting list for tickets?
  7. The funny things is, if Smith gets one they'll have the same amount, but Alex Smith probably won't have the career INT record. Favre was a likable guy (for a while at least) and had a neat story, but he came around at just the right time where he was the only decent young QB in the league. For every game he won you with an amazing comeback, he lost you one with a totally boneheaded pick for no reason. Of course, I'm probably the only person in the world that doesn't think he was The Greatest Quarterback Ever, but I'm ok with that.
  8. I remember this too. Around this time two years ago everyone was saying it was the weakest QB class in a while. Early returns on Wentz and Goff are both pretty good. They said this year's QBs were bad too but the kid the Texans got looked like a world-beater before he got hurt, and he was supposed to have all kinds of issues. Not for nothing Ice, but no team or coach does it this way. The coach is hired, then he picks HIS staff. Teams don't put a staff in place and then ask someone to come in and head it up (unless you're Jerry Jones).
  9. I thought the opinion on September was this, but now most of the "experts" are saying there's not any blue-chip prospect at QB and they all more or less have issues.
  10. Looks interesting. Ten bucks says they gloss over Parcells' regular season record sans Belichick, and don't even mention his one playoff loss. (Didn't wanna disappoint).
  11. I said it a few weeks back... get ready for a lot of guys going on IR as more and more "business decisions" are made on a sinking ship. I mean fuck... Richburg was put on IR for a fucking concussion he got in week 4. Unless you're a drooling vegetable, you don't go on IR for a concussion you got IN WEEK FOUR. This guy is not "the leader of the offensive line." I think Jones is a better option there.
  12. I'm almost of the opinion that we should draft that Guard outta Notre Dame in the first or a top flight LT, then pick up maybe a MLB in the second. Let us suck for another year or two before we go QB/OL next year. This ain't getting turned around in one year.
  13. This is exactly how I feel. The younger Mara cant hold a candle to his old man. Geno is not the future of the franchise and if the coaches and management think he is it makes me question how we've been competitive this long. There's an argument to be made to see what your rookie's got if you're planning for the future but you don't bench the best QB the franchise has seen for Geno fucking Smith.
  14. I thought you had to start working in Webb, but I also think when the best QB in the history of your franchise says, "I don't care about my record, I want to win" you say back to him, "after all you've given this organization, we can at least give you that." It's embarrassing to be benched for Geno Smith. Eli is one class act. Not many left like him.
  15. This is how bad our front office is... the fan base is getting excited that instead of being dismal, we've worked up to being slightly below average on the OL. Reminds me a lot of the year everyone was giddy about JT Thomas and Jameel McClain... "Hey, at least it's not Mark Herzlich and Spencer Paysinger! These guys can almost hang in the NFL! "
  16. I don't think there's a case to be made for Reese after today.
  17. https://youtu.be/yYxc2PW4Kv4 Anyone who ever said Eli was bored, didn't really like football, etc can go fuck themselves.
  18. I went to my first Giants game for my fifth birthday... I remember the Minnesota playoff comeback... the 49ers comeback... the DeSean Jackson return. But never in all my years have I felt so sad as a fan as I do today.
  19. We were officially mathematically eliminated this past Thursday so I'd love to see this happen sooner rather than later. My guess is it'll be later though if we even see it at all.
  20. It's almost like we should have had a fullback all of last year and half of this one.
  21. I hope us. I've been asking to blow this team up for three years.
