  1. Yeah you'd think this would be it for the handsome sumbitch, but like Herzlich, he seems to have nine lives for one reason or another... despite not really bringing much to the table.
  2. I hope this is only to fill the Rooney Rule requirements. This is the guy who's been the head of our drafts for the past 11 years.
  3. For the life of me, I can't figure out why head-to-head matchups determine playoff seeding tiebreakers but for the draft it's strength of schedule. Makes absolutely zero sense.
  4. I think Quinn should be the head coach, and Herzlich should start at MLB.
  5. FAKE NEWS! The only REAL question is why does BRONX CHEER Rik hate the Giants and New York so much? Sad.
  6. I'm not sure Flowers has a guard body type. Isn't he pretty tall with long arms?
  7. Lots of guys we wanted... nobody we actually got. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-top-25-offensive-linemen-of-the-2017-nfl-season
  8. Yeah this is why I was pushing so hard for Forrest Lamp this past year. We have three guys heading into free agency on the interior line, and one (Jerry) who's just flat-out terrible. Would have been nice to have had some insurance there.
  9. It would be a bad move to give up on him... he's still on his rookie contract so he's relatively cheap. I think he's playing out of position too... he might be a pretty good RT. However, I think it was colossally stupid for Reese to not provide competition/backup in case he flopped, which he did... and we can see the results.
  10. Yeah I thought I remembered people saying two years ago it was a weak QB class, but Wentz and Goff both look pretty good.
  11. I'd give him a C- but yeah, same difference. From an F to a C- is certainly improvement, just not what you'd want to see out of a top-10 pick.
  12. This is a shit show of a season with no good answers at the QB spot.
  13. I sort of think playing Webb will only be good for Webb. Even if he comes in and lights it up... will that really affect the draft philosophy of the team in April? I don't think a 2-3 game sample size good or bad is enough to make a decision regarding the most important position on the team.
  14. The only Patriots guy I can think of that had success outside of New England is Scott Pioli.
  15. Found this on Gettleman too: The Panthers also won the division in three of his four seasons at the helm. I may be a believer.
  16. Yeah but we wouldn't be asking for as much either. Two firsts for the top spot overall instead of two firsts, a third and a fifth. Again, just talking out my ass here... I don't think the Browns are going to be worse than us.
  17. I think I remember him going for it a bunch of times against us in the playoffs too and we kept stonewalling them. I think it was the Mike Smith Falcons.
  18. Not quite sure Gettleman "sucks." I loved when Gettleman was our pro player personnel guy. He'd get you a Ryan Mundy, a Gray Ruegamer, a Trumaine McBride. Guys that weren't stars, but wouldn't hurt you if they needed to see significant playing time. His drafts looked to have been pretty decent when he was with the Panthers too. I'd be pretty happy with Gettleman at the helm, but I agree, please no Mike Smith. He's even got the most boring name in the league.
  19. He's a young, immature player who plays like a young, immature player. He definitely has skills. I'd let a new coach/GM do what he wants. If his interview with Apple is bad and he wants to move him, I'd be OK with that if we get something of value. Otherwise he definitely has the physical skills to be a top corner in the league.
  20. Yeah that's true but front offices get weird about that stuff. Remember what we gave away to get Eli... and that was in a draft with Roethlisberger and Rivers.
  21. Man, if only the Browns had won that game. It would be great to trade back a spot with them and pick up their extra first rounder if we end up ahead of them in draft positioning.
  22. At one point I looked over at my son and said, "JPP is still on the team, right?" Dude has been invisible for weeks. To be fair, I've had to miss a lot of game time... today Charter came by and fixed a downed wire right as the third quarter was starting... but he ain't living up to the contract so far.
  23. As I see it, we still don't have an NFL caliber linebacker on the team. That's three spots we need right there. We could use a free safety. Jones is serviceable but aside from him, I have no idea what's happening with the rest of the 0-line. I'd bring back Fluker if he's cheap and move Flowers, but that still leaves us in need of a LT and Guard. We have literally no running backs... none is a starter. That's three more holes to fill. We're down a number two receiver, kicker, and possibly punter. This is also all predicated on the idea that we're ok keeping overpaid guys like Vernon, JPP, and Janoris Jenkins on the team, and that we think Apple and Collins will bounce back... and DRC is back as well. This is gonna be a lot of work.
  24. I think probably Bill Cowher for head coach, and also Bill Cowher for GM. With the money he makes as both, he can buy the team and be the owner too. When he's tired of running a football team, he can run for president.
