  1. Part of me says it'll happen... but then the other part looks at Gettleman guys on the line. Seubert, Diehl, O'Hara, Norwell, the other guy from Carolina... hell, Kevin Boothe. He can find talent on the OL from unheralded places. Norwell would be nice for sure but I'm not sure we're going after him as hard as some other teams,or that we have to.
  2. Sounds like a good move and can still cover a slot receiver.
  3. That's a meteoric assertation.
  4. We shoulda gone after both Sitton and TJ Lang when they were available. I'd still take either.
  5. McDaniels Think this means that Belichick is out? He might be planning on the inevitable Shurmur three-year implosion and have his eye on the Giants. Maybe the rumors from a few weeks ago had some legs.
  6. I was talking with a sulking Patriots co-worker today... I said to him, "see? Just one call in a certain direction determines the game. Yeah it didn't go the Pats way yesterday but THAT'S what I'm talking about when I say the Pats get all the calls." He begrudingly agreed.
  7. Cousins doesn't impress me. I heard somebody say onetime, "he's just good enough to lose" and I think that's accurate. If you look at Smith and Cousins side-by-side over the past four years, Cousins probably has all the stats but Smith has all the wins. I'll take the second guy over the first guy any day.
  8. The Giants and Eagles officially have the same record now that the 2017 season has ended!
  9. Yeah it's a chicken and egg thing. Is the defense terrible because Patricia isn't that good or is it because they have very little talent on that side of the ball?
  10. Uh yeah didn't the Pats just hang 33 on them? It's not like that defense held a record setting offense to 14 points or something.
  11. Maybe I misunderstood the argument... again, when I hear "every team does that" it's almost always followed by some lame assed excuse for why it was just too harsh for the Patriots to actually be held accountable for cheating. Other teams break the rules too and other teams are held accountable (the Falcons did recently as well) but I'm not sure that means "every team does it." I'll say this though, if I owned a team and was in the championship game I'd be cheating my ass off seeing how easy the Pats got off for deflating the balls; I'm pretty sure any team in the league would trade a four game suspension for a Super Bowl trophy. People talk about what a hardass Goodell is but if I was commissioner I'd have nullified that Super Bowl;no rings, no trophies, try again next year. It's what we do at college... cheat on the midterm or final and have fun at home while we keep your money.
  12. I hear this argument 10x a day up here and it's a total bullshit argument. If "every team" did this, why doesn't every team get punished? It's like saying, "well, my neighbor got caught shoplifting, but everyone else in the neighborhood probably does it too, so we shouldn't hold it against him." There is ZERO evidence that other teams broke the rules in the ways the Patriots did. To assume otherwise is asanine.
  13. I'll never forget when Photobucket started making me pay for third party hosting either, UK. The end Photobucket as we knew it... but the birth of Instagram.
  14. I'm seeing Hernandez in the 2nd mocked to us, and hearing he's a flat out beast.
  15. Talk to any Patriots fan up here and they'll still get red in the face and insist "if you watch that play in slow motion you see the ball hits the ground." 5 Super Bowls isn't enough for those fucking crybabies.
  16. I actually saw an article today titled "Breaking Down Geoff Schwartz's Fixes for the Giants Line." Can anybody name me one reason this guy's opinion should matter? He had like one decent season out of eight, right? Can we get Willie Ponder's opinion on how to fix the special teams?
  17. If we trade down four spots we sure as hell had better pick up more than a 2nd round pick. We traded up four spots for Eli and gave up two firsts, a third, and a fifth. According to the chart a second only gets you half of the value you just traded away. We could take their third and fourth too and still have points left over.
  18. Beat me to it. I was gonna say my plan is to not sign free agents for 16 million dollars and have them play eight games.
  19. Yeah I meant after he actually, physically left the team. They were ok with Kaepernick that one year with Smith as a backup and everyone was clamoring for Harbaugh and a rushing QB, but headcase coaches and runners at QB typically have a very short shelf life in this league.
  20. I know I'm in the minority, but I've always thought Alex Smith is an underrated QB. Yeah, he's a "game manager," but he wins everywhere he goes... maybe not Super Bowl wins, but he wins. San Francisco wanted to be really smart by benching Smith for Colin Kaepernick. How did that work out for them? Have they even sniffed the playoffs since he left? Meanwhile, Kansas City's gone 53-27 with Smith at QB. That's pretty darn good. The Skins won't be sexy with Smith at QB, but they'll be solid, reliable, and yeah, probably pretty good.
  21. Honestly I've kind of felt that way about JPP since his sophomore season. He's never reached that's season's sack total, and that year was the last time he had a play that determined the outcome of a game (the FG block to beat Dallas). Let's not forget too, his third year was the year that he had back surgery in June and Coughlin was trotting him out every week in September despite having Tuck, Osi, and Kiwanuka on the roster. He's never been the same player since. He had good stats many years but doesn't have the killer instinct that the Taylors and Strahans had in the past... the ability to take over a game and make a few pivotal plays that get you the win. Instead he gets two sacks when the other team is already up by three scores or we're 3-8 and out of the playoffs.
