  1. Not just that, but Shurmur isn't exactly the type of coach that I'd label as a "leader of men" and our two best players are both up for contract renewals at the same time. There's a great chance we're gonna be bad for a long time.
  2. Can't wait till Hillary vs Giuliani. Pretty much a done deal at this point, no real reason for the primaries.
  3. Still way too early to tell. That 2014 draft looked awesome and there's one guy left on the team from it, and 2015 looked great too but Collins is the only good player from that one.
  4. For the record, I'd be happy with Barkley on the team. I have to admit I'd be ok with Barkley, Darnold, Rosen, or Nelson. Anyone else in that spot would leave me a little disappointed.
  5. As evidenced by this video, his diet is poor, he doesn't follow instruction very well, and he looks slow. Also, there's this:
  6. There's no way Smith and Nelson will be available at those spots.
  7. We already have someone on the team like that and half the board thinks we should trade him. You can have a few players with that kind of attitude on your team, especially WRs but look at the Geoff Georges, Phillip Rivers' and Jay Cutlers of the league haven't had much success. Tom Brady of course being the one notable exception.
  8. I don't think for a second that hookers and blow is the same ballgame as murder.
  9. This. Why you'd want to end Eli's streak to "see what you have" in Geno Smith is mind-boggling. You had four years of game tape on him.
  10. Agreed. If it's feasible, I'd much rather have the "Favre to Rodgers" handoff instead of the "Marino to... uh... whoever eventually replaces Marino" one.
  11. For the record, I'd be totally cool trading down and getting an extra #1 next year... taking Nelson or Barkley... again, you can package those two picks in the future to move into the top-5 and hopefully get one of next year's QBs if you don't like any of these guys. If you think one of these guys has "it" though, you go draft him.
  12. I wouldn't be unhappy with Nelson or Barkley, but Eli has maybe three years left, I'd argue probably only one. He's never been the most accurate QB, so what's going to happen when he loses some zip on his passes? We need to start thinking about the future now. Dallas has an unbelievable guard and running back but I think they'd trade them both for Aaron Rodgers with no regrets whatsoever. If the future QB is there and the GM and coaches believe in him, you take him. If the coaches have faith in Webb then you let the two of them duke it out and have the wonderful problem of deciding which high-talent QB you want to start, or "deal with" having a starting-caliber backup. It worked out pretty well for the Eagles last year. I think if the Giants stay put it'll be really telling... at 2, we're getting a QB. If they trade down, we'll take one of the other two guys. Even with Barkley or Nelson though I don't think this team is a playoff team next year.
  13. I'm not paid to do so but I bet there's one there. If you held a gun to my head I'd say Darnold or Rosen, the latter only if we're sure he has his head on straight. I think Mayfield is going to self-destruct, and Allen has bust written all over him... the typical "fall in love with his measurables" even though he hasn't really produced on the field. Goff was supposed to be the only sure thing two years ago but Wentz looks pretty darn good, and last year was supposed to be a historically weak QB class but Mahomes and Watson both looked like they can be NFL starters in the limited time they played. The jury is still out for sure, but of the top four QBs in this draft there's no reason to think that at least one can't give us Eli-type play (perhaps minus the postseason heroics). Lets not forget too that there's no guarantee that Barkley, Chubb, or Nelson are sure things either.

  15. If you don't trade someone (like Odell or swapping picks) for another 1st next year then you more or less have to take a QB this year. The top-flight QBs are all gone in the first five picks and if you don't have a way to trade up into the top-5 next year then you're in "QB hell" as Gettleman likes to say. This draft is deep at RB and interior lineman. Yes, those two players would be nice, but Hernandez and Chubb give you 85% of what those other guys do... I'd be ok with that if we land our franchise QB that'll lead the team for the next decade.

  17. I'd shit myself if we got Darnold, Hernandez, and Chubb in that order.
  18. Mods, please retitle this thread to "does this make the Giants gay?"
  19. Yeah if they trade Beckham they're nuts. I mean, if someone offers something insane you do it... 3 firsts, a 2nd and a 3rd or something... but otherwise you keep the guy who's been the best player on your team for four years and deal with the kicking net bullshit.
  20. Crazy right? I mean he's a good player but I wouldn't give more than a third for him.
