  1. I'm thinking Josh Sweat or maybe Tyrell Crosby?
  2. FUCK YEAH! I've been asking for a guard for seven fucking years!
  3. This. We should have been talking about whether or not we should be giving our stud RB and Guard extensions this offseason. Better late then never I guess but I'll take Barkley and an inside mauler on the OL over another fucking average D-lineman or WR that tears up a knee and is done in four years.
  4. I think he's awesome. Carmen Policy was the guy who let the Leonard Littles of the league get two DUIs, kill a kid during the second one, and then still get a third one... and still play in the league. How soon people forget the lax NFL of the past.
  5. I was wondering that.
  6. Dude even looks like Aaron Rodgers.
  7. I notice my boy Will Hernandez is still there...
  8. How much is Odell gonna love people biting on play action?
  9. Only guy who's a bigger bust is gonna be Allen.
  10. Nice Browns pick. Huge bust potential.
  11. Wow, Steve Smith. Nice to see the NFL didn't learn anything from that time he threatened Michael Irvin.
  12. I don't understand the Josh Allen love. Didn't the Jets just draft the physical marvel with "all the tools" two years ago? What are they looking to draft this year?
  13. This is the rare draft where our needs line up perfectly with the depth in the draft. What I'd love to see: 1. Darnold - worst case scenario is he comes in and competes with Webb, best case is he leads the franchise for the next dozen years. Let's be serious - Eli won't be around much longer and we need to start preparing for that. Darnold is the best QB in this draft and is only 20 (I believe). If we can't trade down and get another #1 next year that we can pair to move into next year's top 5, then we have to pull the trigger on a QB now. 2. Will Hernandez - not as good as Nelson. Nobody in the universe is as good as Nelson. This guy can still be a Pro Bowler for ten years though, so long as he's not in the same conference as Nelson. 3. Nick Chubb - physical runner the Giants need, with near-breakaway speed, good vision, and enough wiggle in his run to make guys miss. We're idiots if he's there in the 3rd and don't take him. Outside of Barkley I think he's by far the best RB in this class, and Shurmur will probably use him in the same role as Dalvin Cook last year (who was in contention for ROY honors before the injury).
  14. 1. Darnold 2. Barkley Just like that.
  15. I don't think he got him fired, but honestly, Pat Flaherty hadn't developed on O-lineman since we drafted David Diehl and signed Rich Seubert. Like Reese, he was living on a great corp of work from a dozen years earlier. Also to be fair though, it's not like any of Reese's picks in that time went on to other teams and had success either.
  16. His chips were pretty terrible, but otherwise it's tough to think his performance was that bad when there's defensive guys taking the handoff from the QB on every play.
  17. It's really strange how quickly he's fallen. Played decently on a bum ankle his rookie year... everybody loved him. Was fairly nondescript his second year, so he worked his ass off in the offseason... but it didn't pay dividends and had a pretty terrible third year. The guy has definitely tried; not sure what's making him quit now.
  18. https://sports.yahoo.com/jay-feelys-promgun-pic-harmless-joke-inappropriate-143109894.html Lost in this whole conversation is the fact that if he really had to shoot the date he'd miss wide right, and miss three times in a row if in Seattle.
  19. The Giants have been recruiting character guys and although Dez is a character, I don't think that's what the team has in mind.
  20. Honestly, I like to hear evaluations of the college players but the whole "well this team is drafting so and so" is just dumb. Unless you're a Giants scout you have literally no idea which way the team is going to go, or any other team for that matter.
  21. We're taking Nick Chubb, not Barkley, and if he stays healthy he going to be a better back.
  22. I'm seeing 6-10 but yeah, same difference.
  23. Yeah and I think there's also a chance that we do pretty well. His coaching philosophy (change the offense to fit the player) more or less mirrors my educational philosophy and he did a lot with a little in Minnesota. The guy definitely knows his x's and o's. I can just as easily see him as a Norv Turner type that is a grade-A coordinator but doesn't have the leadership skills to hold a team together. These are kids in their 20s that are still super impressionable and Shurmur doesn't strike me as someone who a 24 year old millionaire would sacrifice his body for when the going gets rough. Gettleman is a no-nonsense guy though and Bettcher seems to be as well, so maybe you can get by with a smaller personality at HC. It worked ok for Fassel for a while there.
