I used to try and do the right thing... bought NFL Sunday Ticket online one year... did two years of NFL Game Pass... but honestly, both products were really bad. Combined with the fact that the NFL itself has sort of gone to shit and I'll stick with Reddit threads for the foreseeable future.

Phil Simms came out and said on NFL radio that NFL front office guys have told him that they'll cut good players to hold on to their draft picks even if the picks aren't very good. Again, Webb will probably be a career backup but if Tree's scenario happens it's Webb who I'd want under center. The other two guys look flat-out terrible... Lauletta doesn't even look like an NFL caliber QB.

Here's the straight dope: Webb, Lauletta, and Tanney all suck. I think the thing that is strange is that by just about any metric that you have, Webb is a better QB than Lauletta. Size: Webb Arm Strength: Webb Experience: Webb Upside: Webb Anticipation: Lauletta Work ethic: toss up, but Webbs is already legendary. The real pisser is that for the 3 million guaranteed we gave Stewart (who I never thought was very good even in his prime) we could have signed Bridgewater, a guy who has experience, upside and knows the Shurmur scheme. He could've been the #2 and we'd let Lauletta and Webb compete for 3. Instead we got Stewart, who is essentially a 3 million dollar coach.

I think I proclaimed Eli a total bust during that 4 INT game against Minnesota. I'm pretty sure that's the same year we won the Superbowl. Honorable mention to any receiver that I lost a dollar bet on to Treehumper.

Yeah I thought LaCosse could be a pretty decent player when given a chance. He did get hurt quite a bit though. Fluker was a good run blocker too but a bad pass blocker... which means he had a 50% better game than Omameh, who doesn't seem to be able to do either very well.

I actually like Just Giants podcast with Grump and the Cranky Fan. They're just two guys that go to every home game and a handful of away games every year but I like their perspective on things. Gets me to thinking that we should have our own Giants podcast sponsored by Sportswrath.

Those two are smart but holy fuck that podcast is unlistenable. My middle school students literally make better sounding audio than that.

Neither Webb nor Lauletta is starting caliber, but Webb is a lot closer. Lauletta looks like Tim Hasselbeck to me, where Webb looks like a (very) poor man's Carson Wentz.

Yeah I didn't have any illusions that he was the future, but in a pinch for two games I'd much rather have him than the two guys we've got.

I don't get it either. Webb clearly looked better than Lauletta or Tanney, and had virtually no cap hit. He also had a strong arm and supreme work ethic from all reports. This is my first real head-scratching move of the Gettleman era.

I have no idea ideally why you'd keep him over Lewis... Lewis is a legit special teams stud and Sharp had a TD on a punt that I could have scored on... and two muffled punts in the preseason. He's garbage.
