  1. Not for nothing, but didn't Carr just sign a gazillion-dollar contract? I know his cap hit for the year is 25 mil but not sure how much of that we'd have to eat.
  2. I have to admit I'm not surprised that Gruden shows up and suddenly their franchise QB is ruined.
  3. Yeah, but I have to admit early returns on this draft seem to be markedly improved over past ones. For instance, we have two third-rounders that are contributing. I'm pretty sure Reese didn't have two third rounders that contributed in his entire tenure.
  4. I was actually hoping we'd trade down and grab that guard that Indy took, but Hernandez seems to be outplaying him anyway. So yeah, I have to give a solid "I was wrong" on this one.
  5. Yeah younger Mara is not only a poor businessman, he also seems to be a bit of a douche.
  6. You know, it's funny... before the draft people were comparing him to Barry Sanders, and I rolled my eyes the same way when I hear that Myles Jack is the next Lawrence Taylor. But fucking a.... this line is absolute trash... and just LOOK at what he does. Maybe I'm just a homer but yeah... I kind of see Barry Sanders out there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1aYHFBeKa4
  7. Actually, I meant to put this for "what now..."
  8. Sort of...the Colts traded Phillip Dorsett who was a former first-round pick not living up to his billing for Brisette and a third-round pick. Maybe we should have hung onto Flowers.
  9. Honestly, this is a good idea if he'd want to come back. We need to find next year's QB. We know for a fact it's not Alex Tanney. Might as well have another viable option.
  10. "In game prediction?" How about the WHOLE FIRST SIX GAMES, motherfucker!
  11. Now if I was Temp I'd reply to this with "your mother's been telling stories about me again?" Can somebody comment on my thickness, please?
  12. Yeah, according to PFF the Giants have the 24th best line in the league, or the 8th worst depending on how you look at it. Incedentally, Pugh and Richburg are both rated pretty terribly. Eli's skills are eroding for sure, but if we were to stick some green-assed rookie behind this line we really would end up with the next David Carr. That's why I suggested in the other thread that we draft a QB first, then the best interior O-lineman we can find, and add another one in free agency (a good one... not Patrick Omameh). Like it or not, Eli is the best option this year. Just as we were saying about Webb last year, it'd be tough to evaluate any rookie when they only have a second and a half to get rid of the ball.
  13. No to Kaepernick. Between OBJ and Lil Wayne I think we have enough headaches to deal with. Also, even when he was "good" he wasn't very good.
  14. That's a great point, I forgot about him. He is a good corner but he also shows up for at least one boneheaded play per game.
  15. I agree, but Saquon and Hernandez are in the same boat and they're not doing interviews with rappers and losing their shit on the sidelines. ODB played a good game but I don't think he's grown up at all, and honestly, I'm getting tired of his schtick.
  16. Pretty much. You watch what that kid does week in and week out and especially on a night like last night... and say to yourself, "if there was a single other member of the offense contributing we'd be putting up 30 points a game. Barkley was 100% worth that pick, at least so far.
  17. I made something to eat after I ducked out of the gameday thread so I did get to see Saquon's TD... but I wasn't foolish enough to think that meant that we were mounting a comeback. I know these Giants too well. Anyways, where do you think we all go from here? The way I see it we have a number of problems (stating the obvious, I know). 1. We have a lot of money tied up in players that are not playing up to their contracts. Eli, OBJ, Vernon, Solder, I'd maybe put Ogletree in there as well. I'm not saying those guys are bad players per se, but they're not playing up to what they're being paid. My plan would be: Eli retires. If I'm not mistaken, there's 24 grand. Vernon, Solder, Ogletree take pay cuts. If they refuse, I'm not sure there's a good way out of their contracts so you might just have to eat them unfortunately. OBJ - I have no idea. I didn't watch the second half of the game but this is the second game this season where he had to "take an IV" before the half, and the Lil Wayne stuff is flat-out ridiculous. If this crap doesn't stop I'd honestly look into a trade... he's not helping the team win at this point, and he's not a leader. 2. Free Agency/Draft - Make a QB succession plan (this should have been started three years ago). Right now, my plan would be: Sign Teddy Bridgewater. If he's too expensive/unavailable, get a Sam Bradford type in here to hold the fort for the new kid. Draft the best QB you can find in April. Get another tackle or guard in free agency, but a good one. Move Omameh to a backup role and if you can somehow get a Taylor Lewan type, move Solder to RT. In round 2 draft the best Guard or Center you can. Re-sign Collins but only at the price he's actually worth. 3. Coaching/Front Office - I'm not sold on Shurmur, but he's shown more from a personality standpoint then I thought he had. Gettleman should hopefully stick around a few more years. I think you keep those two guys in place for another two years and re-evaluate then. That's what I've got. What do you guys think?
  18. Yeah that's a good idea. Goodnight fellas. Sorry we didn't get to play a meaningful game in October this year.
  19. Honestly Saquon and Hernandez are the only good players on this offense. Beckham hasn't done shit this year.
