  1. Dunno. If not today than next week though. This is tough to watch. Also I'm ok trading Engram for a third.
  2. If I'm Shurmur I'm putting in Lauletta next series. What do you have to lose; the season is already over.
  3. I'm just gonna come out and say it: Evan Engram sucks.
  4. This team is legitimately bad. Might as well put Lauletta in there.
  5. Giants don't look great but neither does Washington. We have a shot at this one.
  6. Dude, I was just gonna make a post asking if anyone had seen you. Glad you're ok.
  7. Yeah I'm not sure where all the Cleveland comparisons are coming from. Sure they didn't cash in on draft picks, but saying that's a losing strategy is like saying, "Man, fast food just doesn't work... I mean... look at White Castle...fast food would never work for another franchise... " Seahawks, Niners, Rams, Eagles, Jacksonville, Chiefs... all of these teams have had success in the present or the recent past by creating teams with good, young rosters and a few steady vets.
  8. Honestly, I think Snacks is the best DT in the game, and arguably the best run defender in the game. Dude is constantly beating double teams and then... actually making the tackle.
  9. His contract was reasonable and he was worth more than a 5th... but yeah, I think the team understands we're going to be bad this year... bad the next... might as well see what we've got at NT with the two guys who'll be here after that.
  10. I'm a little disappointed in this. I loved Snacks and thought his contract (7 mil I believe) was pretty reasonable for next year. There were grumblings this offseason/preseason that he has some attitude problems, particularly with the media. Since Apple also had some problems in that regard I wonder if the two might be related.
  11. Yeah I think he's not very good, but also it's not really the Giants way to can a coach after one year... sends a bad signal to the rest of the league. Not that John Mara has really done... well... anything to make me think he can run his family's football team, but I'd at least hope he tries to have some stability before we find the next Ben McAdoo.
  12. Yeah I think we might be on the hook for his guaranteed money, right?
  13. Oh yeah... get rid of Stewart too. I honestly forgot he was even on the team.
  14. As I said in the other thread, I don't think Bridgewater is the answer, but I think he can be a "stopgap with upside" while you groom your eventual franchise guy.
  15. Holy shit... do you think Gettleman read my thread on here?
  16. The past two weeks he's actually playing more like i expected him to play. It was unrealistic to expect a rookie from UTEP would come in and not make a ton of mistakes.
  17. Outside of this year's draft class, yeah. I don't think Engram is very good either... at the end of the day he's a 3rd WR with bad hands.
  18. Your team is off to a 1-6 start. Where do you go from here? This would be the Sephiroth plan: 1. Everyone is available for trade. Like, literally... everybody. Absolute fucking fire sale these guys. I wrote in the game day thread, if someone wants OBJ for two firsts, I take it. If the Jags want Eli for a fifth, I take it. Somebody wants Vernon for a third, I take it. This season is over and we need to cut all the dead wood and start fresh. I wouldn't do anything absurd... like get rid of Eli for a seventh... but basically, if you're not on your rookie contract I'd be listening. 2. Solder, Jenkins, Vernon, and Ogletree should all agree to pay cuts. If they don't, then cut them if it's an option (Jenkins) and deal with the guys you're stuck with (I think the other three). Damon Harrison only costs us 7 mil next year and I think he's more than worth it at that price. 3. I don't think Shurmur is a very good coach but I think we're also stuck with him for at least another year. Give him an opportunity to get "his guys" in here if there even is such a thing. 4. Draft your next QB if he's available, but if not, look really hard at the O-line. I think we need at least one O-lineman in free agency and probably two in the first three rounds of the draft. 5. If Eli can't be traded, ask him to retire or cut him. Bring in a stopgap guy if we have the number one overall pick (a Bradford type) or maybe a stopgap with upside (a Bridgewater type) if there's no attractive QBs available where we pick. 6. Get rid of Alex Tanney and sign Webb off the Jets practice squad. Tanney was the "if Eli gets hurt and we're making a run, come in and not fuck up for a game or two" QB. I think we're pretty far past that now. Webb can compete for next year's backup spot; just based on the eye test I don't think Lauletta is an NFL-caliber QB... I'm pretty sure he's Tim Hasselbeck. Get them both ready to play the last 6-8 games. 7. I wouldn't break the bank for Collins as he's basically a one-trick pony (run stuffing safety). If he wants to stay and be paid "run stuffing safety" money, then keep him, otherwise he can walk. I said it last April... we're gonna suck for a long time, gentlemen. Get ready for a really shitty 2-3 years after this one, minimum.
  19. Yeah, I'm seeing two more wins this season, three tops. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we don't win another.
  20. Definitely makes you wonder what we could get for Odell.
  21. Whelp, that's it for me. It's fire sale time gentlemen. Have a great night.
  22. I was a huge Gettleman supporter and his draft looks solid, but his free agent pickups have been utter shit. Solder and Omameh both suck and are arguably worse than the guys they replaced.
