  1. They fell two spots. All we need is one dumbass team to trade into the top 3 for a QB and we'll still get someone we're happy with.
  2. Yeah I know. A guy can hope though.
  3. He was the "TE to take the top off the defense with the seam route" but the next time he runs the seam route will be his first.
  4. I really loved AJ Brown last year. Reminded me of Nicks and will probably crack 1k yards this upcoming weekend. If we could somehow trade down to like 4-5 and get a guy like Jeudy, gain an extra 1st and maybe regain our 3rd for the inexplicable Williams trade I'd be OK with it.
  5. This is true. However, the problem is that Shurmur (at least publicly) said that he'd change his scheme to fit his players. If anything he's done the exact opposite.
  6. Is it possible that he looked good because we were playing the worst team in the league?
  7. I think Hernandez would be playing better with better coaching. They're not that far apart in skill, no.
  8. Yep. Hernandez was graded higher till like week 7 last year. https://nypost.com/2018/10/05/giants-other-standout-rookie-continues-getting-better/
  9. Sorry everyone... thought that would autocorrect to "semi-Jenkinsed."
  10. Let's not forget too though for much of their rookie season's Hernandez was the better player. If he doesn't have a semi-retarded coach like Hal Hunter next year there's a good chance he bounces back.
  11. I think top-flight number 2 is probably the ceiling, but that's fucking great work out of a 5th round pick. His stats are comparable to Beckham this year.
  12. I heard (I think) on the Giants podcast that he's been having a very difficult time dealing with his son's health this year.
  13. It does make sense though. If you pick at 3 and you think the team at 2 is going to take your guy, you trade to 1.
  14. Not just that... you trade down and get say, 3 number 1 picks... and presumably get good players out of that... that's three guys you can get for a fifth-year option on the cheap.
  15. I look at it this way: Remmers > Hart Zeitler > Fluker Halapio = Richburg (Richburg doesn't play a full season ever and was poorly rated last year) Hernandez < Pugh (but again, Pugh doesn't play and Will H at least has room to grow) Solder > LT Flowers
  16. Yeah honestly it seems to be a league-wide thing. O-lines just aren't as good as they used to be. According to PFF, our line improved... slightly. Keep in mind too though, Pugh missed almost an entire season last year and I believe this is the second year Richburg is going on IR, so how useful are they really? Also, Flowers is being rated as a guard... last time he played LT his rating was a 48.4, which is historically bad. This line isn't great but I'd take them over the 2017 version, no doubt. 2017 O-line Bobby Hart - 55.8 Dj Fluker - 60.2 Weston Richburg - 59.8 Justin Pugh - 66.5 Ereck Flowers 63.5 Average: 61.2 2019 O-line Mike Remmers - 64.4 Kevin Zeitler - 73.7 Jon Halapio - 50.3 Will Hernandez 59.0 Nate Solder - 65.5 Average: 62.58
  17. Those linemen all HAVE been starters in this league until Hal Hunter, with the exception of Halapio. Hernandez is going backwards from last year as is the entire rest of the line. You might be right and it's possible the older guys are all washed up, but I'm willing to give DG the benefit of the doubt for another year or two. It seems weird that three guys who were solid-to-good NFL starters just all spontaneously suck. I'm not willing to give the benefit of the doubt to the coaching staff.
  18. I really WANT to agree... but honestly, this team isn't taking the steps necessary to succeed. This year, we had an easier schedule and a much less competitive division... but we're going to end up with a worse record. Since playing the Patriots very well: We ended up losing to the Cardinals, who have arguably a worse roster and another rookie QB. Poor clock management in this game as well. We lost to the Lions, another sad-sack team with another poor showing on clock management. We lost to the Jets, where players were clearly giving up on plays and their QB is a hot mess right now. We've had players come right out and say they still don't know the defensive playbook. We still inexplicably have Saquon Barkley run behind center or off-guard 10 times per game (not an exaggeration) for negative or no gain. We are consistently out-scored in the second half of games, noting that the coach is failing to make adjustments. We've had once-promising looking players (Saquon, Hill, Hernandez) take steps backwards. I'd like to remind you that Hal Hunter is the OL coach, who was so good he was out of the league two years ago, and coached a line that gave up an NFL-high 66 sacks in the prior year. He has never had success anywhere he's been and is a consistent NFL retread... a warm body with a name. Kevin Zeitler and Nate Solder are both playing worse than their careers indicate they should. At the end of the day, the coaching hires are on the HC, and from Hunter to Bettcher they've been bad hires (except on special teams). I don't want to have to hire another coach this offseason but honestly, this can't go on. Three coaches in five years is a really bad look.
  19. I wanted to give Shurmur another season but at literally every juncture the team hasn't made the step needed to improve. He's gotta go.
  20. Yeah he was terrible when he was just in his goofy little chair adding commentary once every ten minutes. No idea why they gave that dude a promotion.
  21. I went to bed when the Eagles scored their first TD, confident in the fact that we'd end up losing the game. What was it this time? Solder allowed 3 sacks in the 4th? Eli threw a pick in crunch time? Total defensive collapse?
  22. You think? I loved the opening playcall of Barkley up the middle for -4 yards. Haven't really seen that one this season yet.
