Dude was arguably the best gunner on the team and I thought he'd be a real Joe Judge kinda guy. Sucks.

First of all, I can remember Saint Coughlin and Perry Fewell making players do push-ups when they fucked up. Second... they're making them do... CONDITIONING? Please no... anything but that! You can't make a professional athlete do conditioning! They're GROWN MEN! What's next, conditioning for the armed forces recruits when they fuck up in basic? Third, as someone who regularly has to motivate large groups of kids I can tell you... you can always start out "too tough" and ease up. If you try starting off easy and then wanna tighten the ship... good fucking luck with that. And finally, fuck Shannon Sharpe, Geoff Schwarz and whoever the other guys were. They're just trying to get clicks.

I think these guys definitely have the skills to be a good o-line (I was kidding about replacing Thomas, I think he'll be a good tackle for us). It's going to take a while to gel though with so many new/young players in the unit. If there's a full season, I'd hope they'd start to look decent by week 8 or so... but of course would be very happy if they could put it all together right away.

Also, Matt Peart has looked awesome and Andrew Thomas has been worked over by apparently everyone on the d - line. Clearly, Peart should be the starter.

Sounds like Gates is getting a hard look at Center. Would be great if he won the spot there with Phlegming at RT and Limeaux backing up the three inside spots. Have Peart backing up the two tackle spots and we might be a middling-to-good O-line this year.

If we get "Saquon up the middle for 1" more than three times per game I'm going to lose my shit. Shurmur called that tired assed play a dozen times each week and it never worked. He's not an inside runner.

I'd say it's unproven, but maybe not worse. We just don't know what we have. Thomas may be a huge improvement over Solder and Gates may be much better than Remmers, but until probably next season we just won't know.

I'm hearing Gates is in the mix at Center, but if I were the Giants I'd probably put him in the "first off the bench" role at Guard and Tackle like Kevin Boothe or David Diehl early in his career.

Hope he gets back on the team, if for no other reason than his name sounds like "cock girl." He'd pair really well with Kyler Fackrell on the radio play-by-play. "Prescott drops back... Fat Girl gets the sack... balls loose... and Cock Girl swoops in for the score! Fat Girl and Cock Girl with the double team on Prescott... and the Giants are up!"

The thing is too... some of these guys aren't going to recover from this. They'll get "better" but only have 70% of their heart efficiency when it's done. Their careers will be over. Also, what happens when you get the O-lineman that has COVID for 3 weeks but loses 30 lbs? Now that guy is already out of shape/weak and trying to block a 270lb defensive end or 330lb DT. There will not be a season this year. Maybe we get two games.

You know, we may finally not be a bottom-5 unit at LB for the first time in forever. Markus Golden was pretty decent for us last year, and between Carter and Ximines one should hopefully emerge on the other side as well. If not than Kyler Fat Girl might return to form and become a decent pass rusher again. Martinez was a pretty meh signing, but I thought Connelly looked really good before the injury and has been cleared to play. Mayo is at least serviceable and a good special teams player. Cam Brown looked better than decent in college as did Carter Coughlin at MLB and weakside, respectively. I'd be pretty happy if these guys ended up somewhere in the middle of the pack in the positional rankings this year and I think they might be able to do it. A far cry from the Spencer Paysinger - Mark Herzlich - Some Other Guy for sure.
