That maybe true but the point is the Giants didn't want to overpay for Edwards or Boldin... they drafted what the team needs most.. a stud WR. And it's not like the offseason is over...

Well.. a few things to keep in mind.. we were paying Plax top dollar to begin with.. so Boldin making the same amount isn't a deal breaker. Secondly, Bolden isn't exactly a TO or a Plax for that matter... it's the Cards who did him dirty in a sense. I think Bolden in Blue this year and for years to come is more realistic now than before.. now that the Cards couldn't move him today. Besides, can you imagine Bolden, Nicks, and Smith out there?

But think about it.. if the Giants are unable to land either Boldin or Edwards, at least we can say we have Nicks... to me this was a no brainer... this 'Bey guy was drafted very early by the Raiders and from what I read Britt doesn't have as good hands as Nicks does... what's the worst that can happen really? We did sign that LB from Atlanta and the WR postion is by far our weakest link.. and it's about time we draft someone in the first to fix it.

I think he will be better than Plax.. only in the sense that Plax didn't fight for the ball and was tackled down when someone touches his towel. Good.. and Ike was pretty good.. and we had who for a QB? Times are different now.. we're an elite team.. we're missing a #1 WR.. aside from that everything else is patch up. We got Nicks and there's still a slim possibility of getting either Boldin or Edwards.

When was the last time we drafted a WR in the first round? Besides, I think this whole "learning the system" is a bit overstretched. It maybe a little more time consuming for a QB.. then maybe a RB or OT.. but for a WR, I'd day it's much shorter. How hard could it be learn a couple of plays etc?

I think we're wasting a great opportunity to land either Boldin or Edwards. Yes I'm very happy with our draft picks especially Nicks... But can you imagine having Edwards/Boldin, Nicks, and Smith on the field?

And I'm ecstatic about Hakeem... great hands which is pretty much why we picked him over Britt.
