  1. There are many reasons to be concerned about this OL but here are some reasons for hope...
  2. The Giants OL collectively played OKAY down the stretch vs bad teams (eg the NFC East) plus a below average Seattle Defense. But anytime they played half decent or good defenses, they got clowned. Andrew Thomas and Gates were the only two of five who demonstrated consistency and improvement down the stretch. I actually thought Peart and Lemuiex regressed a little versus their flashes mid season, and Will Hernandez is still a bust. DG and co are stuck with Skinny Buffalo syndrome. We're so starved for a good OL, that anytime we see the OL put up a D grade performance (versus their typical average F grade), we salivate as if it's the best thing ever. We're going into this season relying on 3 out of 5 guys to turn it on and figure it out, with no depth / plan B behind them (Solder sucks). It could work but it could also be a disaster and typical giants OL of the last 7 years.
  3. Interestingly the jets drafted 5 dbs with 5 out of 6 of their final draft picks, lol. Loading up. For the giants. I'm fine with the Aaron Robinson pick. You need at least 6-7 good DBs in the NFL these days...the 'rover' safety and slot cb are practically starters and on the field more than half the defensive snaps or more. Also fine with the Williams pick. Again, any 6th-7th round picks are real longshots anyway.
  4. This...plus a developing RT who could be hit or miss. The team could easily be a losing team thanks to a lackluster offense. DG after the draft: The Giants did not address offensive line in the draft. GM Dave Gettleman: “It’s really apparent that we have a little more confidence in our offensive linemen players than you guys do.” In other words, they're delusional.
  5. This season could just as easily go bad as it could good. A 10 loss season is very possible, but to me this roster on paper seems more like an 8-8 team....10-6 if we had a competent OL...I'm shaving off two wins just because the OL is so mediocre.
  6. The % likelihood of a 4th round or later draft pick starting more than 40 games in their career is so miniscule that it's not worth getting upset about any draft pick in rounds 4-7. The vast vast majority of these guys will be backups at best.
  7. I think the players we got should end up fairly good. The problem I have obviously is we didn't address the highly questionable OL.
  8. I've never been as satisfied on paper with every position group on this team other than the OL right now, lol.
  9. We're going to have just waves and waves of edge rushers and DL to attack the qb now.
  10. At this point, 4th round or later, I don't care if we draft OL or not. The likelihood of landing a starter is low at this point. I'll take a RB if it's a good one.
  11. Yeah, plus Percy Harvin also couldn't be relied on for the 8-12 yard intermediate routes that move the chains, but I feel Toney should be good there.
  12. I like Jared Hocker and Chandon Herring.
  13. He reminds me a lot of Percy Harvin, but perhaps better down field. Tremendous contact balance and elusiveness. Find ways to get the ball in this guy's hands and good things will happen.
  14. All three picks so far I think will be good players, but we keep insisting for the last seven years that we should enter the season with a mediocre OL, then we're astonished when the offense in general ends up being sub par. I suppose Trey Smith and Deonte Brown are still out there. G Jared Hocker, Texas A&M (aka David Deihl 2.0) and Chandon Herring, BYU are my darkhorse OL for the 4th round. Both helped produce two of the best college lines last year to support Kellen Mond and Zach Wilson respectively.
  15. Considering the giants are forgoing the 2021 season and setting themselves up for 2022 with a new GM and two top 15 picks, it's a decent pick.
  16. Is Aziz the one in the hat?
  17. It's unbelievable. But then I remember we have DG and I believe it.
  18. Me from earlier "DG has telegraphed what he thinks are needs. WR Edge CB" Told you I have DG pegged.
  19. OL are flying off the board. Not that it matters since DG is fine with our garbage OL.
  20. Yeah he's a stand up rusher all the way.
  21. He put up 28 beach reps, but yeah he's still undersized. Probably needs a good year in an NFL weight program to become anything more than a situation pass rusher.
  22. I'd love an all SEC giants draft by the way. 2 for 2 so far!
  23. Cool. These fing Nfl network clowns need to get their facts straight.
  24. Is it recurring now though? Nfl network won't shutup about it.
