  1. The Giants went into that first Reeves year of 1993 trying for one more run with Simms, LT and crew, and it actually was a decent 11 win team that made the playoffs and won the wildcard round (though Ricky Watters would hang 5 TDs on us the following week and the niners blew us out 44-3). Problem for Reeves is the Giants then: - Almost completely overturned the roster after 1993. - A few bad drafts in the mid 90s, particularly 91-96, especially on the offensive side (RB Bunch, TE Derek Brown, WR Thomas Lewis, RB Tyrone Wheatley), not to mention Cedric Jones. Granted they landed Strahan and Armstead at the time, but they didn't become impact players until later. Plus Keith Hamilton, Sehorn were good, but too many misses on the offensive side. - Tried to stick with Dave Brown way too long (by 1996. we should have known he was not the guy, but we even went into 1997 with him as the starter). - For all the good George Young did in 1980 - 1990, he never seemed to adapt to the 90's football world, especially the new free agency rules. The Giants seemed behind the curve on free agency in the mid 90's.
  2. I really like the way the colts have drefted and signed players since 2017. They certainly know about prioritizing and building an OL, THEN getting a RB.
  3. Those 2-3 players I mentioned aren't enough though. Gettleman's teams in totality are bad. To be fair, the roster heading into this season minus the OL, on paper/in theory, was decent. The problem and Achilles heel is the OL, plus of course the head coach is lost.
  4. I'm also tired of people blaming Glennon. Glennon was a decent backup QB before he got to the Giants. He put up a +80 QB rating, +60% completion %, +6 YPA for the lousy Jags and Bears (2017), etc before he got to the JOE JUDGE Giants. He never did this poorly.
  5. I'd just like to just add that I'm fully confident that Evan Engram, Barkley, and maybe even Daniel Jones will go on to have great post-Giants careers once they leave the Giants (but they'll be mediocre as long as they're here). Maybe even Will Hernandez will figure it out as well, but that's a bit of a stretch.
  6. Yep and Joe Judge is the next Bellicheck! Joking aside, it's interesting that a team like the Bears is firing Nagy, a guy who actually has a winning record and took the team to the playoff twice, and his only losing season is this year, playing with a marginal rookie QB, injuries, backup QBs, etc (and throughout his tenure, he really hasn't had QB stability). He's 34-30, but the Bears are getting rid of him. Meanwhile, we have a coach on the verge of putting up 22-23 losses in two years, whose QBs under his tenure (Jones, Glennon) have all done WORSE since he's got here, and we're guaranteeing his job for next year. On that note, just one quick point. Glennon is obviously not good, but my problem is before the Joe Judge Giants, Glennon was a decent backup putting up yards, high completion %'s, and far higher TDs, passer ratings, etc on other lousy teams (such as the Jags, Bears 2017) etc...yet he comes to the Joe Judge Giants and is doing far worse. In his starts for the Jags and Bears previously, he at least looked like he could hold down the position and manage a game. On the Joe Judge Giants, he looks completely bewildered. Plus Colt McCoy who we had to let go (no doubt a Joe Judge call) did quite well in his 3 starts filling in for an injured Kyler Murray. It's the sign of a bad coach. Joe Judge makes bad situations worse; he's in over his head.
  7. Right, these weren't exactly dominant Giant teams during that run...the Giants got hot at the right time. Granted, I'd take those 9-10 win teams in a heartbeat now. I'd settle for that over the next 5 years, LOL
  8. I'm not following. The Bengals have good players and a team playing well right now. How is that luck? Luck in terms of Joe Burrow panning out (so far?). I don't know if I'd call them a good organization but they seem to be heading in the right direction, whereas the Giants are fledgling.
  9. How so? They actually have some real players on that team. You know what's interesting too is Eli Apple and BJ Hill doing quite well there too. Starters even. Related, also interesting to see Ereck Flowers carve out a decent career at guard, plus you have ODB doing big things for a team in contention for the super bowl. The Giants organization is a joke up and down. Nearly everything they've done over the last four years (with a few exceptions) seems to be the wrong move.
  10. I think Joe Judge built the wall and got Mexico to pay for it after locking up Hillary and passing his universal healthcare plan.
  11. Wtf seriously...Dalvin Tomlinson, Kevin Zeitler, Colt McCoy (judge specifically wanted Glennon not McCoy), Devontae Freeman, BJ Hill, Kyler Fackrell...all of the above are currently playing for teams in playoff contention, and with nearly twice as many wins as the Giants or more, Lol. Meanwhile Markus Golden has a $3M cap hit and 11 sacks this season (also playing for a playoff team), Odell Beckham Jr caught a game saving pass today for a team vying for the #1 NFC conference seed, and Ereck Flowers seems to have carved out a decent career as a Guard, while our entire line minus Andrew Thomas (who had a few mishaps himself today) are complete trash. Eli Apple is actually doing decent for the Bengals too. This franchise is a joke. Evan Engram is going to turn into Darren Waller once he leaves, and Barkley into Barry Sanders, and DJ into Ben Roethlisburger.
  12. Bradbury got their early, and tried to come over the top of the WR. 4/5 times that's going to be called pi
  13. I mean we gotta hang on to him. You don't just ditch a highly regarded and respected coach like Judge.
  14. Pathetic. If they put anyone of us in at QB, we could just throw the ball away each down still have more passing yards than the Giants right now.
  15. It was he got there early...tried to come over the top of the WR
  16. This is not necessarily on Judge, but.... another boat pic, lol
  17. RIP. The guy was a legend. So were his games.
  18. Remember kids, it was Garrett who was the problem...
  19. Also how and why we don't have Saquon running routes more downfield (rather than behind the line of scrimmage) is a mystery, especially given that he can outrun most LBs and many DBs as well. You would think you would design plays like that, even if you want to use him as a decoy and to get the attention off other guys to free them up. They seriously on passing plays should motion a TE and/or WR to see if there will be man or zone coverage on the defense (I know defenses sometimes disguise their coverage and that it's not always the case, but stay with me here)....if there's obvious man coverage, motion Barkley to the slot and have him run a route downfield (even wheel routes), especially if lined up with opposite a LB or Safety. If there's not obvious man coverage, stick with his original assignment.
  20. More good effort. Check it out. I think Will Hernandez taught the WR's and TE's his patented "spin around in a circle and touch no-one" blocking technique. The team practices great though, I'm told.
  21. The Peter Principle definitely applies to Judge the last two seasons. He's in over his head. He's better as a position or ST coach.
  22. Yep...and plus I didn't see the giants play tough football yesterday at all. Check out our WR's for instance vs the Eagles. You had guys like Reagor and Smith going up attacking the ball in the air and making contested catches, helping out their struggling QB. What did we have? Golladay? Drop...Slayton in traffic with a ball thrown at him? Get's cold feet...Drop. Kadarious Toney in traffic with a ball thrown right at him? Get's cold feet, plays volleyball with the football, and has an interception returned for a TD? Guys like Leonard Williams and a few other defenders, plus Booker, are legit putting in the effort and are tough, but there's a lot of Giant players playing like pansies.
  23. And then solved the headset issue in one week after they revealed the depth of HeadsetGate! Judge was working diligently all season to confront the headsets then miraculously resolved the issue just like that. He even had the class not to brag about it too, or even mention it again...very humble hero who just wanted to do good. There's too many people out there who like to boast and toot their own horns, but not Judge...he just quietly fought the good fight and defeated the evil.
