  1. He's far too injury prone, just like Jones.
  2. Yep that's what I was thinking with that signing in my plan.
  3. The best jobs that former Giants/Gettleman/Abram's scouts can hope for at this point is to work for 3rd rate college teams. This is a drastic demotion. The NFL will not take them. The CFL will not take them. And good college programs won't take them.
  4. That's fine. I can live without Carter.
  5. Considering they're retaining Judge: So 2022 essentially will be a "throw away" transition year with another 10+ losses, to get us to the inevitable post Judge rebuild starting in 2023...rather than starting the rebuild now in 2022. Even more so if they're counting on Daniel Jones and Saquon as their QB and RB. In other words, there's really no point in watching Giants football in 2022. It's a lost season. And we're just delaying the rebuild.
  6. I'm thinking if we can bring him back on a 1 year "prove it" type of deal, worth $4-6M, that might be ideal.
  7. Cuts for cap space (+$33-36M): - Nick Gates (+$2.4M). Sorry but he won't return to form if at all next season, then is a FA in 2023 anyway. - Kyle Rudolph (+$5M) - James Bradberry (+$12M). Restructure if possible. If not, cut. - Blake Martinez (+$9M). Restructure if possible. If not, cut. - Sterling Shepherd (+$8M, post June 1 if I'm not mistaken. Otherwise it's $+4.5M) Trades (+$7.2M): - Saquon Barkely (+$7.2M). Trade to the Ravens for a 3rd round pick in 2023. Re-Signings ($7M cap) - C Billy Price. 2 years $6M He played decently down the stretch and is worthy of bringing back, at least for quality depth. - OLB Lorenzo Carter. 1 year $5-6M "prove it" type of deal. I might be fine signing him to a 3 year $20-24M contract as well, so long as the bonus money isn't so extensive that we can't cut him if things don't work out. Free Agent Signings ($22-25M) - OT Morgan Moses 3 years $30M, 2022 cap hit $7M - OG Laken Tomlinson 3 years $30M, 2022 cap hit $7M - QB Marcus Mariota or Mitch Trubisky, 1 yr, $3-4M - CB PJ Williams 2 yrs $7M. - RB Ronald Jones 2 yrs $7M. Mock Draft #5: OT/OG Kenyon Green, Texas A&M (I'm assuming Evan Neal is already taken before this). He might be best suited at RT. #7: OT/OG Ikem Ekwonu, North Carolina State. He might be better suited at G. #36: QB Carson Strong, Nevada #67: LB Chad Muma, Wyoming or LB Christian Harris Alabama #81: DT Travis Jones, UConn Rounds 4-5: Best RB, TE, CB Rest: OL and DL depth
  8. So the rebuild will start in 2023, and 2022 is just another pointless 10 loss season. In other words, delaying the inevitable.
  9. Leaked. I found a copy of the Giants/Mara's GM interview script for 2022: GM Interview questions #1 "What do you think of Joe Judge...do you want to keep him around? If the answer to that question is no, then the next interview question is #2a) Do you have any questions for us before we finish here today? If yes, #2b) Excellent, do you have any questions for us before we finish here today?
  10. The Maras will not hire a GM who doesn't accept Judge as coach in 2022.
  11. Well they're going to be a 10 loss team in 2022, so I am assuming Judge is gone after that. We'd have to be really stupid to bring back a coach with three straight 10 loss seasons. Coughlin, Schurmer, and Gas Station attendant guy got fired for much less.
  12. So basically, the rebuild will start in 2023, not in 2022.
  13. It's amazing. Jerry Reese who actually delivered a super bowl and a few playoff seasons to the organizations gets fired mid-season. Gettleman who's like 19-46 with four straight 10 loss seasons gets a suite in the owners box for the last game, and gets to "retire"
  14. As I said in the other thread, the giants priorities this offseason needed to be: 1) A future without Judge, Gettleman by firing these two, and preparing to move on from Daniel Jones and Saquon. Jones and Saquon are currently back regardless, but we need to make a decision on Jones' 5th year and we're stupid if we pickup Jones' 5th year option, which will likely be a $21M cap hit in 2023. I also think we should trade Saquon, but it wouldn't be bad if he was back next season. 2) Invest significantly in the OL.
  15. Or the Jets. I feel like the Jets are moving in the right direction.
  16. He's just going to be fired next year anyway, and it's just going to be ANOTHER new offensive system in 2023 anyway.
  17. They're just going to have to fire him next year anyway after another losing season, and most likely a 10-11+ loss losing season.
  18. He's clearly in over his head and just not capable of performing the head coaching job. He's a ST coordinator at best at this point. Peter Principle. He rose to his level of incompetence. Why even bring him back? Next year is a rebuild year. We need to be looking for a new QB, overhauled OL, new offensive system/coordinator. It's likely going to be another losing season where you're going to end up firing him after 2022 anyway. This team is not just a few tweaks away from being a winning team. What's the point of bringing Judge back?
  19. Agreed. And I'll add this. I get it for the people who want to say Joe Judge was dealt a bad hand, however in his two years in coaching, Joe Judge is 1) Clearly in over his head, and 2) Is the type of coach who makes bad situations worse.
  20. Not sure where you're going with this. Teams fire/hire GMs and Coaches, and cut/bring in new players all the time. The franchises who hire the right people build winning teams. We don't currently have the right people in the front office or on the coaching staff. We also have some big contracts we need to dump (e.g. Shepherd, Solder, possibly need to consider Bradberry), and long term need to plan on moving on from Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkely. In other words, a successful Giants future does not consist of Dave Gettleman (or Kevin Abrams) and his staff, Joe Judge, Daniel Jones, and Saquon Barkely. That's blowing it up. Moving on from your (unsuccesful) front office, coaches, and from your quarterback.
  21. We need to clean house and do a complete rebuild. We've seen enough from Joe Judge to know he's a bad coach. Show him the door as well. - Keep Daniel Jones around, but don't pick up his 5th year option. There may be no QB's in the draft worthy of a top 10 pick in this draft, but we may want to consider Sam Howell, Carson Strong, or Desmond Ridder in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. If we have another bad year, fine because the 2023 QB class is looking stronger with Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, and Tanner McKee. - They need to make a lot of cuts to free up cap space, including Solder and Shepherd. Finally address the OL: They need to bring in one premium veteran OL in free agency, then draft Evan Neal, Kenyon Green, and/or Tyler Linderbaum with the #5 and #7 picks. Beyond that, draft and bring in FAs for depth. No more pussyfooting around with the OL. We need to come out of this off-season having brought in at least three guys who can start day one on the OL. - I'm hoping it's possible we can bring back Lorenzo Carter on a one year "prove it" deal, for something like 1 year $5-6M.
  22. The supplemental draft is still around actually. DG drafted Sam Beal in the 3rd round of the supplemental in 2018 for instance...which of course was the start of Sam Beal's journey to never play NFL football, Lol.
  23. I'd definitely rather be the Bengals right now than the Giants. This Giants team is a mess, and more then just a few moves away from being a competent team.
  24. Right, that's what I'm saying. Bringing him to the Giants must have been a Reeves call.
