Check out the bowl game vs Iowa towards the end. Robinson burns our own Dane Belton on 4-5 plays. Lol So you should feel better about Robinson...not so much for Dane Belton, lol. Dane Belton looks terrible. Maybe at best he can cover TEs but not WRs in the NFL.

As I said in the other thread, I have a feeling Robinson is the kind of guy who's going to make us eat our words (criticism) in the end.

Having watched YouTube (which I know I shouldn't do to try to judge guys), while we all poo poo'd Robinson in the 2nd, I have a feeling he's going to make us eat our words.

Half of these picks will have low cap numbers ($1M-$1.2M or so), so if they make the roster, they simply replace another player who was also making a low cap number, for only a small net increase or a net wash. For instance, say we keep Darian Beavers with a cap number of $1M, and he takes Cam Brown's spot, Brown has a cap number of around $1M, that it's essentially a wash. We didn't add to our cap number here.

If 2-3 of these guys end up as long-term starters, that's a success, and I think that will happen with this group. Anything else you get on top of that (e.g. contributors, role players) is icing on the cake. There was a few head scratchers in the 2nd-3rd but I think it'll be fine. That Guard they got seems like a decent prospect, and if Robinson is used properly he can work out. My only real issue is Brisker was there in round 2 and we didn't take him (I'm very concerned with our safety depth), and there were better corners then Flott available in round 3 pick 81.

My hot take. Joe Schoen grades: Day 1: A+ Day 2 (2nd-3rd): C+ Day 3: (4-7): B Overall: B+. I think we'll get 2-3 longtime starters from this draft, and maybe a few contributors.

What's the % chance of guys in the 4th round or later turning into starters? It's gotta be something like 15%? Very small. I wonder if any analytics gurus have crunched the numbers on this. Granted that doesn't mean these guys aren't helpful even if they're not starters.

Realistically if 3 of these 5 end up as solid starters then it's been a good draft.

Shoen might be the kind of GM who falls in love with certain guys and doesn't look elsewhere when it comes time to draft.

Okay so with Flott rounding out round 3 for the Giants, this has officially been a day of significant reaches by Schoen and co. 4th-5th rounders taken substantially higher.

Also, so given that we passed on guys like Brisker, Pitre, Bryan Cook....so we're pretty much relying on Julian Love to start at Safety? I mean unless we do a post draft free agent signing (who that would be and with what money I have no idea). I'm really concerned about our depth at safety. If X man goes down we're fucked.

And that was on a North Carolina OL that allowed 48 sacks on a disappointing 6-7 team. So he was the lone bright spot on that OL, in my view. He'll immediately compete for the LG spot.
