So Waller is already in mid season form.

We now have two actual LBs who can play, and depth at DT to be able to spell Dexter Lawrence and Williams once in awhile.

Jackson is good. Flott isn't starting material yet, and Holmes is looking like a backup/back end of the roster guy at best in this league. So we have Jackson, who's like a B+, but the rest of the CBs on this team each are a hard C. In coverage, our safeties are probably C's as well. But who knows maybe Banks, Hawkins, Pinnock, and/or Belton step up and develop into better cover players. I think realistically maybe one or two does. Even the LBs on this team aren't necessarily great in coverage. I'm fully confident in this teams ability to stop the run, but the pass game I am anxious. I hope I'm wrong on the latter.

We pretty much have no one else capable of starting at CB on this team, so yeah Banks and Hawkins are starting, alongside Jackson. It's also one of the reasons I'm not incredibly high on this giants team this season. They'll likely have a leaky secondary, plus the OL is still going to be shaky far too often. Don't get me wrong, Banks and Hawkins could be great in time, but year 1 there's going to be growing pains.

Yep. Anywhere from 7 to 10 wins seems to be the probable range for this team, barring any injuries.

Definitely. And if I recall Strahan came out of college pretty lean himself and didn't put up great (double digit) sack numbers until year 5. Even Tuck and Osi didn't really get going right away in years 1-2.

I think the pass rush will be decent, but just not enough to cover the deficiencies elsewhere. It'll be a B to B+ pass rush vs a secondary that's probably a C to C+.

Someone has to be the pessimist here. I believe we're a 7 to 9 win team. 9-8 or 8-9 seems most likely. We won 2 games last year that we had no business winning, which could have easily gone the other way. Then played like shit in that last Commanders game, yet still found a way to tie. We were 3-6-1 down the stretch. The OL I still believe will be a problem, especially the interior OL and ongoing growing pains with Neal. The secondary will be leaky. Pass rush will be decent, but nothing spectacular; not enough to substantially improve the pass defense. Thibs and Ojulari may max out at like 8 or 9 sacks, then after these two, no one else to put up big sack numbers. We're going to lose both games to Philly, another to Dallas (possibly both to Dallas). Beyond that, the team isn't going 10-4 in remaining games; probably 9-5 or 8-6 at best. A 7-10 season also wouldn't surprise me.

With no FB, and if we're only carrying 3 RB's, it might make sense though...especially considering our interior OL looks shaky going into the season, and Evan Neal is a work in progress.

With no FB on the team, and only one TE who can block, I'd be somewhat surprised if Schoen doesn't look to bring in a cheap blocking TE, after Tuesday cuts.
