  1. Ahhh crap, mods please remove this embarrassment of a thread.
  2. http://deadspin.com/5373855/eli-manning-signed-his-work-in-dallas Eli Manning Signed His Work In Dallas By KOGOD, 11:30 AM on Sun Oct 4 2009, 26,979 views That's Eli Manning's signature on a column in the Cowboys Stadium's visitors locker room according to an NBCDFW user. "See the picture of a concrete column in the visitor locker room in the new Cowboys stadium," the NBCDFW.com user wrote. "I heard the locker room was spat on and had many used jock straps hanging from the mirrors and other places too. What class." If the story is true don't judge Eli too harshly, he was probably just trying to fit in with the older boys. He's so impressionable.
  3. http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2009/10/ny_giants_qb_eli_manning_will.html NY Giants QB Eli Manning will have MRI Monday afternoon on 'bruised heel' By Jenny Vrentas/The Star-Ledger October 05, 2009, 1:11PM Giants quarterback Eli Manning, who sustained what the team called a "bruised heel" in Sunday's win at Kansas City, will have an MRI later Monday afternoon, the team announced. More information about the injury will be available then. Manning had "some swelling and soreness" Monday morning, according to the team spokesman, and was administered ice and stimulation treatment. He attended team meetings and went through a strength program that was likely modified. After Sunday's game, Manning said he didn't think the injury was "awful," though the results of Monday's MRI will tell the full story. Manning was injured on a fourth-quarter pass to Steve Smith, during which he hopped in the air after planting his right foot then fell to the ground while throwing. He stayed in for the next play, a touchdown pass to Hakeem Nicks, but did not return with the game already in hand. Manning told reporters Sunday he felt "a little pull or strain" but that it was not an injury to the Achilles' tendon. According to a poster on that website, "Non contact injury. . .soreness and swelling the next day. . .I've seen this before. It does not bode well for Manning. Prepare yourselves for the bad news that will follow, although you can expect the Giants to put a positive spin on it. Eli will definitely miss some time, and possibly more. Also, Boss' injury may be significant, as well. Stay tuned. On a positive note, Tynes is feeling well today." Don't know how credible that poster is, but lets hope he's just a jackass.
  4. http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/foot/bruisedheel.htm Here's some good info on this injury... seems very minor.
  5. If, God forbid, Eli does miss significant time, let's hope Carr can do what Dilfer did with the Ravens in 2000, sub-par QB, great defense wins the championship - and it kills me to use that example. Eli's a tough guy, I'm sure he'll be fine.
  6. This is the third week in a row he's going to be fined for an on the field infraction. Lets see if he can make it four in a row this sunday without the NFL doing anything useful to prevent it!!! woo hoo
  7. Haha, I was just going to say, I posted a bunch of stuff about Rouse in the other thread.
  8. Yeah, it's disappointing. He's only 23. Hopefully he'll bounce back and the injury won't be career threatening.
  9. Let's all remember the gmen the Superbowl with James Butler as starting FS who was about 5 yards behind the receiver at all times. No reason to freak out. CC will be fine. I'm more concerned with CB depth.
  10. Think so? Thomas is only an average tackler, and Safety is a demanding tackling position. I think we'll be fine once we get Ross and Dockery back at corners. I'm comfortable with a rotation of Johnson, CC Brown and Rouse at safety.
  11. One thing going the giants way is TB has a banged up receiving corps.
  12. Bruce and Michael Johnson. Still paper thin with only 6 dbs, including an undrafted rookie playing the 3rd corner spot, and rouse playing backup safety. Worse, considering Webster and Bruce Johnson duck tackles. When we get Ross and Dockery back, we'll be in decent shape. Good thing we're playing cupcakes the next 3 weeks.
  13. Sep 23 S Aaron Rouse was released by the Packers. Rouse started last Sunday in place of injured SS Atari Bigby and had been expected to for at least a few more weeks. Rouse showed flashes as a playmaker with four interceptions through his first two seasons, highlighted by a team-record-tying 99-yard return for a touchdown on a pick of the Indianapolis Colts' Peyton Manning last season. Yet, Rouse has been flawed technique-wise in the past, due in part to being a taller player at 6-foot-4.
  14. Coughlin says he's "not at liberty" to discuss Phillips Posted by Mike Florio on September 24, 2009 3:55 PM ET Giants coach Tom Coughlin has addressed the report that safety Kenny Phillips, who has two interceptions in two games, could be heading for season-ending knee surgery. But Coughlin really didn't have anything to say. Kenny Phillips, there are a lot of circumstances involved here and I am not at liberty to say anything at this point," Coughlin said Sunday, per Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. "There are other things [beyond medical circumstances] involved," Coughlin said. "There are other circumstances surrounding not just Kenny but what's going on around. and I'm not at liberty to talk about that until those other issues get settled. That is the best I can do for you today. I am not trying to duck your questions. I am just telling you that there are other issues." Asked whether the other issues related to the availability of other players at the position, Coughlin said, "Maybe." When it comes to injured players, Coughlin is required only to submit a practice participation report, and to designate on Friday whether an injured player is probable, questionable, doubtful, or out. So Coughlin is fully within his rights to say nothing more to anyone. And the Giants probably would have preferred that none of this get out, since once it's known that a team needs help at a given position, the price for potential replacements might go up. Or, possibly, available players might be scarfed up. Safety Bernard Pollard, for example, signed this afternoon with the Texans. Maybe the Texans were dragging their feet on this one, and maybe once they caught wind of Phillips' condition, they opted to get the deal done. Source: profootballtalk.com
  15. We must have the same trainer who worked for the NY Mets this season.
  16. I've been telling my friends, Peyton, Brees, Rivers etc all put up wonderful numbers. Meanwhile, Eli doesn't put up flashy stats. But if there's 2 minutes left in the game, and the giants are down 3-4-5 whatever points and have the ball, I want no quarterback other than Eli in there.
  17. Just heard on SNY, so don't ask for a link. Tuck could reportedly miss 1-2 weeks. Good thing the gmen aren't playing Divisional opponents, or anyone really that good. Maybe we'll get Canty back this week?
  18. Tuck beat him on that play, and it was early in the game. Kiwi also beat him shortly thereafter, and Flozell tried it again. Where is the NFL with a fine and/or suspension? Defensive Linemen get penalized up the ass for hitting QB's, and meanwhile the league goes soft on Offensive Linemen.
  19. Yeah him too. The corners on this team have to make tackles. That's why I love Dockery. He flies up the field and likes to mix it up a bit. Webster could have single handily ended one of Dallas' drives last night.
  20. What I've seen in my rugby days, one time: One guy would hold the opposing guy up (basically locked in a ruck, or block). This way, the opposing guy needs to have both feet, or at least one leg planted, hard into the ground. Another guy comes around, stomps down or falls down on the opposing guys shin, blowing out the knee. Just an idea for Tuck next time. Maybe Canty can hold Flozell up, haha.
  21. The other thing is, Sheridan has to tell the corners, specifically Bruce Johnson and Corey Webster to man up and actually try to make a tackle.
  22. Sheriden had the D double covering Witten like 80% of the time. Sheriden seemed to have a bend not break scheme going for the secondary, and it worked. Romo did terrible last night. Only issues we had were with the run. That won't happen again, or at least won't happen frequently with this Defensive line.
  23. I wouldn't worry too much Jim. if it is a loss, it's only week 2. Not only that, we'll play them again. The gmen are playing, most likely, with a seconday of 7DB's, three of whom have injuries, and another is an undrafted rookie. On the positive side, dallas played, in my perspective, an awful Bucs team, with an aging defense and secondary, and a marginal offense that still scored 21 points and put up a ton of yards on the dallas D. I think their real weakness is their D, especially in the secondary. If Byron Leftwich can tear them up, so can Eli. Plus I doubt the giants excellent front 7 will give Romo any of the time he had last Sunday.
  24. I'm more concerned with the injuries to the secondary for this Sunday. Anyone know how Johnson and Ross are doing?
