  1. I guess NY wasn't big enough for two C C's in two different sports.
  2. Sheriden blew, but he sent guys... the problem is he sent the wrong guys.... there's no reason why Justin Tuck should be downfield trying to cover DeShean Jackson, while Michael Boley is blitzing... Things like that happened on more than one occasion, and on more than one occasion, the D got burned.
  3. Really? Why don't you think so. I'd be interested to here the negatives on him. I'm also assuming we get a LB in free agency, because I don't think we can count on McClain being there - and after McClain there isn't much until the 2nd round. So Im guessing we'll go LB in free agency. I think Mays can be a real impact player on D.
  4. Have you guys seen this guy? If McClain isn't around at #15, I'd take him in a heartbeat. A 6'3 230 lb SS that can apparently run a 4.3 40. Could be a good tandem with Phillips and with Johnson in the rotation. Johnson's play was sub-par last season.
  5. Yeah, he's a top 4 pick though. We'd have to trade up.
  6. That's not bad. He's good to have around, but still need to add another DT to the mix. Hopefully Canty can pick up some of the slack. Alford should be solid too. Still, Linebacker is the most pressing need.
  7. I like it. http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-A.php
  8. http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2010/01/ny_giants_team_president_and_c.html Here's a link to the full interview/press conference with John Mara. He's furious.
  9. Right, and unlike shit franchises like the Lions, Browns, and Rams, this team is only a few tweaks and a new coordinator away from regaining playoff status. A defensive tackle, linebacker, possibly O-lineman, and a couple more elsewhere for depth. Can't say that about those other teams.
  10. Responding to the initial post, we giant fans have to be the most spoiled fans ever. Our team made the playoffs for four straight years, and wins one of the greatest super bowls of all time just two years ago. And now people are freaking out over missing the playoffs in one underachieving season. Disappointing? Yes, but no reason to throw in the towel. Not to mention the fact that this is a sport, unlike baseball, where you don't have 8-9 big market teams who usually can throw out a ton of cash and buy a playoff team most years. Can you imagine what it's like being a Lions, Browns or even Jets fan?
  11. Will the scope also be removing the sand that built up in his vagina this season?
  12. Rodgers-Cromartie makes some nice plays... but he always blows a lot of plays. Way more than Thomas ever blew.
  13. Even though Thomas gave up the pass to Muhammed last week, I still think Thomas should have made the pro bowl.
  14. Terrell Thomas for team defensive MVP, with Boley in a close second.
  15. Terrel Thomas can't be blamed for the poor scheming by Sheriden. If anything, Terrel Thomas is the giant's defensive MVP of the year.
  16. and zig-zag across the field in zone coverage, with no-one really covering him. Gotta put a man on him.
  17. In our legal system, if you have a consistent repeat offender, someone who commits a crime over and over again that get's taken into account when reviewing a crime. Flozels hit was bad enough, but the fact that the NFL refuses to discipline him beyond these fines the he keeps getting week after week shows that the punishments are not working. He's been fined like 80% of the weeks he's played in the last few years? The NFL has no system to control player misconduct like this, it has not worked. This fine isn't going to change anything. That's why they need to suspend him to get it through his head. If a guy shoplifts 12 months in row, do you keep giving him the same punishment after each month? Or do you take into account his repeat offenses?
  18. You watched him today too? He was wherever the ball was on every play. He's great.
  19. It seems the gmen are working on a more effective defensive rotation, so there guys don't get worn down over the course of a game My question is, why didnt the do this several weeks ago?
  20. I was checking out some mock drafts... even though we have awhile to go, they pretty much all had McClain and Spikes as first round picks, but most rated McClain higher than Spikes by several draft spots.
  21. I like the move with Canty. He was kind of a stiff at a Defensive end in a 4 man line, 4 point stance. He's only really suited for the middle of the line, or as a three technique linemen.
  22. How about that ILB Rolando McClain from Alabama. I only saw him once this year, but he was nasty.
  23. Some observations when the D has struggled this season. In no particular order of importance, but I'd have to say # 2 and #4 are huge, and show Sheridan's poor management. 1- 300 lb Defensive Lineman dropping into coverage into the middle of the field. When Spags dropped linemen into coverage, he only had the defensive ends covering the flats, not the middle of the field. 2- LBs not properly positioned or at proper depths on dropbacks. This has been going on all season. Granted, aside from Boley, it's not the swiftest LB corps, but Sheriden needs to account for this. 3-Defensive Line wearing down over the course of the game. Tuck and Osi spend the first 30 minutes of the game speed rushing or bull rushing, then have nothing in the tank the rest of the game. Tucks injury may be bothering him more than he lets on. Robbins and Bernard are clearly past their prime, getting old, and are barely average. The middle of the line is getting pushed around. 4- Secondary not properly positioned in the red zone or short yardage situations. it's almost as if the only time the gmen force fourth down is when they have 3rd and 7 or more to go. 5-Expecting an LB to cover the halfback all the time. The giants constantly get burned because their LBs can't cover speedy halfbacks. Boley can cover well enough, but not the other two. It should be Boley or a safety on the halfback most of the time. 6-Lack of physical play from corners. Terrell Thomas has been mostly physical, despite missing a tackle here or there. But Webster and Bruce Johnson need grow a pair of balls - at least push back on the skinny receiver blocking you. Dockery was physical when he was out there, then he blew some coverage assignments, now he's on the bench.
  24. Can they please try to involve Sintim as well, and see what he's got? Any also why not see if Travis Beckum can open up the middle of his field on offense? He's looked good in his few opportunities this season.
  25. Beat Dallas and Philly and we have a very good chance.
