  1. OR C: A or B, plus being able to run behind probably the best offensive line of all time, five 350 lbers.
  2. I actually think we should draft a DE somewhere in the first four rounds. Osi is basically gone after this season, Tuck is frequently injured. Who else is playing opposite JPP? And who is in the rotation to keep them fresh? A solid pass rush always improves the coverage. You can never have enough pass rushers on a team.
  3. I'm pretty sure ESPN has a sixth grader picking and writing these power rankings every week.
  4. Prior to the season, 8-8 or 9-7 is about where I expected the gmen to be, with a loose possibility of 7-9 or 10-6.
  5. To give the DT's and D-Line in general the benefit of the doubt, aside from the injuries to the DE's, a major reason the run defense is bad is because of a lack of good LBs behind them.
  6. No mention of Linval Joseph too? Our D-Line is getting pushed around
  7. He's been a surprising bright spot on the otherwise lackluster offensive line. I think he can be an everyday interior lineman.
  8. Sad to see a fellow Husky go on IR. He started slow, but was making good progress as the season progressed.
  9. I agree he's not a bad coach, and the problem is really the players and personel available (Jerry Reese), but if they don't make the playoffs, I think it's time for a head coach regime change.
  10. http://www.giants.com/news-and-blogs/article-1/Giants-add-CB-Blackmon-Coe-to-IR/d88cfe5d-0d3b-4cea-8acf-e8e7c2ff1036 The Giants swaped cornerbacks on Wednesday when they placed CB Michael Coe on Injured Reserve The Giants today exchanged cornerbacks on their roster, signing veteran Will Blackmon and placing Michael Coe on injured reserve. Blackmon, 6-0 and 208 pounds, is a six-year veteran who played in five games for 2010 Giants after joining the team on Oct. 28. He led the team with a 6.7-yard punt return average on 14 runbacks. Blackmon also averaged 18.3 yards on 13 kickoff returns and was credited with one tackle on defense and one on special teams. He finished the season on injured reserve with a knee injury. Blackmon came to the Giants after spending the first four years of his career with the Green Bay Packers. He was the Packers’ fourth-round draft choice in 2006, the 115th overall selection, from Boston College, where he was a teammate and close friend of Giants linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka. He played in 32 games with two starts for Green Bay, totaling 20 tackles (19 solo), two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Blackmon averaged 21.1 yards on 66 kickoff returns and 11.0 yards on 47 punt returns and scored three touchdowns. His best season was 2008, when he played all 16 games with one start, had 17 tackles (16 solo) and averaged 21.0 yards on 55 kickoff returns and was fourth in the NFC with an 11.1-yard average on 36 punt returns, including two for touchdowns. Coe, a four-year veteran, played in all 10 games this season as a substitute defensive back and on special teams. He had four solo tackles and a pass defensed on defense and six tackles (five solo) on special teams. Coe is the fifth Giants cornerback to be placed on injured reserve this year, joining Terrell Thomas, Bruce Johnson, Justin Tryon and Brian Witherspoon. In addition, first-round draft choice Prince Amukamara made his NFL debut Sunday against Philadelphia after missing the first nine games while recovering from a broken foot suffered on Aug. 6.
  11. To me, the running back question is meaningless because our offensive line is getting pushed around and embrassed - that includes in pass blocking as well. Don't get me wrong, they should play Scott more, but the O-line is my bigger concern.
  12. For better or worse, Fewell runs a "Bend, don't break" type of defense, which is why we don't get beat on the deep ball.Though, it explains why a team like SF was able to pick us apart on their 10-15 yard passes.
  13. My favorite part about the JPP pick now is knowing that the Eagles passed on him for Brandon Graham just a few picks earlier.
  14. Bass especially. At least three times sunday, he was standing there watching as his assignment blew by him and tackled the ball carrier.
  15. I'll never root for the eagirls, but watching the fledgling Cowboys get blown out is hilarious.
  16. The teams we have to watch out for in the future are the teams with second rate QBs and/or backup QBs. Our team has a penchant for making opposing 3rd string QBs like Charlie Whitehurst look like Joe Montana.
  17. True, but who do we have behind our starting 4dbs, and Deon Grant. And who covers Welker? Can Coe or Brian Williams cover a 3rd or 4th receiever?
  18. We'll need him for our post bye week schedule, particularly the NE game. Sure as hell know we can't put Webster on Wes Welker because Webster can't tackle.
  19. How about Jaquan Williams filling in nicely in the role of a nickle LBer, and even getting in there on running plays. He moves around well in space, and can really run. I didn't see him miss a tackle either. I think the future is bright for him, especially if he can add 10-15lbs and keep the speed.
  20. What the hell is going on at our practices that these guys always get injured?
  21. My take: Interesting Andrew Brown part II didn't make it, but I guess we have enough RBs. Also interesting we kept 5 safeties. I personally thought Tyler Sash looked a bit lost at FS, more of a SS type. Not sure what Derrick Martin can bring to the table, I hear he's good in coverage, only average in tackling. Phillip Dillard is a guy I saw cutting - he looked very lost at LB out there. LB Mark Herzlich , I know nothing about this guy... how did he do this preseason? He must have been one of the last to make the team due to the Sintim injury. Dodge is also not a surprise, but I feel this decision was too influenced by the media... Dodge will go on to be a solid punter for years to come on another team. Also encouraging, I caught Wetherford on the radio on WFAN, he was talking about the defense, and said that Goff is a monster on defense. I'm hoping he has a big year.
  22. Did DE Justin Trattou get cut? That kid was a beast in college for Florida, I wonder if he'll catch on as a 5th DE or potential OLB.
  23. I swear the mets training staff is secretly working for the giants.
