  1. Tyler Wilson is the 2nd or 3rd best QB in this draft. At least, there's NO way Nassib or Jones are better than Wilson. I think we may see Wilson sneak into the top 15 of the draft, at least the 1st round.
  2. 2012, for some reason Fewell frequently moved JPP to the left and to the middle of the line, which isn't his bread and butter. JPP needs to be lined up strictly at the RDE position. He can do inside stunts of course, but don't line him up over or near the center, and don't line him up at LDE... he's clearly much more effective at RDE. Watch tape of him left vs. right side of the line; it's night vs. day. This is one factor that attracts me to DE Alex Okafor in this years draft. Okafor is a LDE and can compliment JPP nicely, plus Tuck is getting old and is injury prone.
  3. Maybe he can explain to Coughlin and Fewell that guys wear down over a season if you don't rotate in solid subs every now and then, plus demanding starters play through serious injuries.
  4. I agree... trade down. I like the late 1st, early 2nd round talent better (I have my eye on DE Alex Okafor). Pick up some additional draft picks. We have plenty of holes to fill, and I'm not sure there's going to be any free agency spending spree to fill them all: Entire defense, OL, TE.
  5. I don't see why this guy is being rated as a 1st or even 2nd rounder. He had a couple good games this year, and that's it. He's pretty much average. He's a 3rd-4th round pick at best.
  6. Definitely I think Reese will draft a DT in the first four rounds, but even if he does, I still think he needs to bring in another FA DT. Remember we're also losing Rocky Bernard (I presume Reese won't resign him, he's no good).
  7. I didn't realize Hosley graded that poorly. He's still young though and can develop, I wouldn't write him off yet.
  8. I'd still like to bring in another FA DT and draft a DT like Kawann Short or Shariff Floyd. We were really pathetic in the trenches against the run last year, mainly due to DT and LB. Plus, Rogers and Joseph have only 1 yr on their contracts, and Joseph has been just ehhh.
  9. Suitable replacements, or simply filling in our gaping holes at LB, without killing our cap: DeAndre Levy Justin Durant Nick Roach Brad Jones Jasper Brinkley Philip Wheeler Leroy Hill Rocky McCintosh Higher priced: Dannell Ellerbe
  10. The defense was inexcusable The offense was also horrendous. At one point, the camera cut to Gilbride and I noticed his eyes wandering. His mind was elsewhere today.... the fat fuck was probably thinking only about stuffing his face with ham and pies tomorrow.
  11. Webster really isn't worth 10 million either. We can likely find a FA of his caliber for half of that cap hit. I see us parting ways with some of the older guys, past their prime. Webster, Diehl, Tuck, Canty. I appreciate their contributions over the years, however they are dead weight at this point.
  12. "[Coughlin] also said Wilson earned his confidence in the kick return game." Well with four Dallas scores, he certainly had plenty of opportunities.
  13. I think we'll easily replace Ware, but what Ware didn't put up in numbers, he certainly contributed in PASS PROTECTION... His contributions there can't be understated. He was a very good pass blocking RB. I appreciate his time with the Gmen. Hope he catches on as a 3rd RB elsewhere.
  14. I can definitely see Ojomo lining up at DT on pass rushing downs, particularly 3rd and long
  15. It's the vowels in the last name that speaks to the success of Giant defenders
  16. Does he make the roster as our 4th DE? Do we possibly carry 5 DE? 1- He's done a tremendous job when given the opportunity in the pre-season. 2-He has a lot of vowels in his name, and Jerry Reese likes defenders with lots of vowels in their names (Kiwanuka, Umenyiora, Amukamara)
  17. Updated with rounds 2 and 3... lol Jaguars in Round 3
  18. Seems like a developmental prospect. On paper, looks very athletic; good size/speed.
  19. My guess is the giants are going to go with that safety from Maine Jerron McMillian
  20. And he ends up with the Bengals anyway.
  21. http://www.nj.com/sports/nfldraft/index.ssf/2012/04/nfl_draft_mohamed_sanu_victim.html NFL Draft: Mohamed Sanu victim of prank phone call saying he was drafted by Bengals When Mike McCartney got the call from Mohamed Sanu and heard the unexpected news Sanu had been drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 27th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft, it all seemed “normal,” as he put it. The agent for the former Rutgers wide receiver knew it was ahead of the projections for his client, who had been pegged as a second- or third-round pick. But the sound of Sanu’s family and friends shouting in the background of his South Brunswick home, the surprises already unfolding in the draft and the fact the Bengals had two first-round picks and could use another target for quarterback Andy Dalton all made sense to McCartney, a former director of personnel for the Eagles and an agent for nearly a decade. So he took to Twitter and wrote, “SANU to Bengals!!!!!!” along with another tweet about how happy he was for his client. “Everybody’s going nuts in his home. He’s like, ‘I can’t hear you, Mike, I’ll call you soon,’” McCartney recalled by phone today. “His brother calls me and he’s euphoric and going nuts. We’re all kind of high-fiving over the phone. And I said, ‘They’re about to show it on ESPN. I’ll call you later.’ “And then they show (Kevin) Zeitler.” Cincinnati had taken the Wisconsin guard, not Sanu, leading McCartney to believe -- or, more accurately, hope -- he’d misheard which team Sanu told him had called. When he called Sanu’s brother back and heard nothing but silence on the other end of the phone, he knew something was wrong. Sanu had been pranked and, in the excitement to answer the call and the chaos that ensued, didn’t notice the northern Jersey 908 area code. “My mind doesn’t work like that. It just doesn’t think, ‘Oh, this could be a prank call,’” McCartney said, adding: “I certainly knew he’d be numb (Thursday) night for a while. Nobody could expect anything different.” But Sanu rebounded very quickly, according to McCartney. “I’ll be all right. It’s meant to be that I’ll be with another team,” McCartney recalls Sanu telling him. “If it happens tonight great, if not it’ll happen (Friday).” This morning, the two spoke again and McCartney said Sanu told him, “I feel great. Today’s a new day. It’s going to be a great day.” This morning, Sanu tweeted, “Thank God for giving me another day and another opportunity to chase my dream. #thankfulandblessed” McCartney said neither Sanu nor his family members have expressed anger toward the young man who played the prank. In fact, Sanu didn’t call the number back; McCartney did. “It was some kid from Rutgers who said his friend got his phone and played a practical joke. He was apologetic,” McCartney said. “He said he doesn’t work for the athletic department and wouldn’t tell me how he got Mohamed’s number, wouldn’t tell me his name.” McCartney is a spiritual person (his father is former Colorado head coach Bill McCartney, who founded the “Promise Keepers” men’s ministry group as well as an organization called “The Road to Jerusalem”) and a mild-mannered guy, so he kept his emotions in check during the conversation. “I just said to the kid, ‘Do you understand how much pain you just caused? And it’s not just him, it’s his family. Do you understand what you did?’” McCartney said. “At that point, there was nothing more I could do.” Except to make sure his client and the family were okay. And they were. “It doesn’t surprise me at all the way he bounced back because that’s the way he is,” McCartney said. “Anytime I’ve shared with him a negative comment or something from a team that hasn’t been positive from a team perspective, he’s been great. He really has. This is an extremely mature kid and he is definitely resilient. That’s a perfect word for him.” He added, “He is a special kid. Sometimes you say that and it doesn’t sound right, you know what I’m saying? But I just, I love the kid. I really do.”
  22. SF 49ers have the following now RB - Frank Gore. Kendall Hunter, Brandon Jacobs, LeMichael James, Anthony Dixon WRs - Crabtree, Ginn, Manningham, Moss, Jenkins (and our beloved Kyle Williams) TE - Vernon Davis Pretty sick.
  23. “Rueben is an NFL-ready receiver. I think with receivers, it gets overblown with 40 times and speed and this and that. You need guys that are NFL-ready. What I mean by that is this guy is strong, he can catch the ball, he’s a good route runner, he is position savvy and he knows how to get open. To me, those are the successful receivers in the NFL. I think the guys we have now – Hakeem (Nicks) and Victor (Cruz), if you put them at the combine, you won’t notice them. But if you put them on the football field and they just take their game to another level. And this is how Rueben is in our eyes.” Marc Ross makes a good point here
