  1. With these mock drafts, generally after pick 10, pick 15, etc they tend to vary wildly in their precision. And generally, since 2004, the giants have been in the bottom half of the 1st round, thus lower precision in mocking the giants 1st round pick. To your point, nobody had Prince falling to us. Though, I recall back in 2009, Nicks was in a few mocks. Walters football MAY have had us taking David Wilson at some point last year (I think I recall Wilson to the giants in one of their mocks) Attempting to mock anything after the 1st round is a real crapshoot, though it could provide a sense of what positions the giants might pick, and in what order of picks.
  2. So far, on DT, DE and LB, here are my Likes/Dislikes based purely on the Combine: Now I’m not saying all of these guys are going to be studs, but they should at least find a home and last in the NFL: Likes: -DT Shariff Floyd: May have propelled himself into the top 10 with his performance. His stock was already on the rise. Kinda wish he hadn’t participated so he potentially could have fallen to the giants #19 pick. -DT Montori Hughes: Tennesee-Martin: 3rd-4th round -DE/OLB Dion Jordan, Oregon. in my eyes and by scouts comments, was hands down the best front 7 participant. Top 20 projected pick, possible top 10. -DE/OLB Barkavious Mingo, LSU 1st round, possible top 15. -DE/OLB Corey Lemonier, Auburn. 2nd-3rd round projected -DE Margus Hunt, SMU. 2nd-3rd round projected -DE/OLB Michael Buchanen, Illinois, 3rd-4th round projected -DE/OLB Jamie Collins, 2nd-3rd round projected -DE Ziggy Ansah, 1st round projected. Workout looked great, but he’s extremely raw (more raw than JPP) -MLB/OLB Jon Bostic, Florida 2nd-3rd round projected (I'm biased in favor of Florida defenders, I'll admit) -WLB Sio Moore, Uconn 3rd-4th round projected -MLB Kevin Reddick, North Carolina 3rd-4th round projected -SLB Cornelious Washington, Georgia 3rd – 4th round Dislikes -LB Manti Teo, Notre Dame: Looked stiff, didn't help himself with the combine. -LB Kevin Minter, LSU: Didn't look like 1st round material (though the combine may not be a good projector for MLBs). -DE/OLB Demontre Moore, Texas A&M. Hard to assess this guy. He's top 15 projected, yet had an absolutely terrible combine for a 6'4 250 hybrid player. -DT John Hankins, Ohio State. Looked fat and out of shape. Only a two down defender in this league, projected as a 1st rounder, but shouldn’t be. Not participating, or limited participant (oddly, I like Okafor and Short, but they barely participated if at all) Obviously, a lot of high profile guys generally limit themselves or skip the combine entirely: -DE Alex Okafor (bench press only) -OLB Jarvis Jones, Georgia -DT Star Lotulelei, Utah, apparently now has a serious heart condition which may threaten his career -DT Kawann Short, Purdue -DT Jesse Williams (bench only) -DT John Jenkins -DE Brandon Jenkins
  3. All those subtle changes to the Cardinals and Browns franchise logos, and still they're two of the shittiest NFL franchises in history
  4. Tyler Wilson is the 2nd or 3rd best QB in this draft. At least, there's NO way Nassib or Jones are better than Wilson. I think we may see Wilson sneak into the top 15 of the draft, at least the 1st round.
  5. 2012, for some reason Fewell frequently moved JPP to the left and to the middle of the line, which isn't his bread and butter. JPP needs to be lined up strictly at the RDE position. He can do inside stunts of course, but don't line him up over or near the center, and don't line him up at LDE... he's clearly much more effective at RDE. Watch tape of him left vs. right side of the line; it's night vs. day. This is one factor that attracts me to DE Alex Okafor in this years draft. Okafor is a LDE and can compliment JPP nicely, plus Tuck is getting old and is injury prone.
  6. Maybe he can explain to Coughlin and Fewell that guys wear down over a season if you don't rotate in solid subs every now and then, plus demanding starters play through serious injuries.
  7. I agree... trade down. I like the late 1st, early 2nd round talent better (I have my eye on DE Alex Okafor). Pick up some additional draft picks. We have plenty of holes to fill, and I'm not sure there's going to be any free agency spending spree to fill them all: Entire defense, OL, TE.
  8. I don't see why this guy is being rated as a 1st or even 2nd rounder. He had a couple good games this year, and that's it. He's pretty much average. He's a 3rd-4th round pick at best.
  9. Definitely I think Reese will draft a DT in the first four rounds, but even if he does, I still think he needs to bring in another FA DT. Remember we're also losing Rocky Bernard (I presume Reese won't resign him, he's no good).
  10. I didn't realize Hosley graded that poorly. He's still young though and can develop, I wouldn't write him off yet.
  11. I'd still like to bring in another FA DT and draft a DT like Kawann Short or Shariff Floyd. We were really pathetic in the trenches against the run last year, mainly due to DT and LB. Plus, Rogers and Joseph have only 1 yr on their contracts, and Joseph has been just ehhh.
  12. Suitable replacements, or simply filling in our gaping holes at LB, without killing our cap: DeAndre Levy Justin Durant Nick Roach Brad Jones Jasper Brinkley Philip Wheeler Leroy Hill Rocky McCintosh Higher priced: Dannell Ellerbe
  13. The defense was inexcusable The offense was also horrendous. At one point, the camera cut to Gilbride and I noticed his eyes wandering. His mind was elsewhere today.... the fat fuck was probably thinking only about stuffing his face with ham and pies tomorrow.
  14. Webster really isn't worth 10 million either. We can likely find a FA of his caliber for half of that cap hit. I see us parting ways with some of the older guys, past their prime. Webster, Diehl, Tuck, Canty. I appreciate their contributions over the years, however they are dead weight at this point.
  15. "[Coughlin] also said Wilson earned his confidence in the kick return game." Well with four Dallas scores, he certainly had plenty of opportunities.
  16. I think we'll easily replace Ware, but what Ware didn't put up in numbers, he certainly contributed in PASS PROTECTION... His contributions there can't be understated. He was a very good pass blocking RB. I appreciate his time with the Gmen. Hope he catches on as a 3rd RB elsewhere.
  17. I can definitely see Ojomo lining up at DT on pass rushing downs, particularly 3rd and long
  18. It's the vowels in the last name that speaks to the success of Giant defenders
  19. Does he make the roster as our 4th DE? Do we possibly carry 5 DE? 1- He's done a tremendous job when given the opportunity in the pre-season. 2-He has a lot of vowels in his name, and Jerry Reese likes defenders with lots of vowels in their names (Kiwanuka, Umenyiora, Amukamara)
  20. Updated with rounds 2 and 3... lol Jaguars in Round 3
  21. Seems like a developmental prospect. On paper, looks very athletic; good size/speed.
  22. My guess is the giants are going to go with that safety from Maine Jerron McMillian
