  1. Bleedin, you must have been stoked when you heard the Richburg pick. Leading up to the draft, I recall you thinking highly of him. I was pretty excited myself. Pencil this guy in as a solid starter for years to come. What I also like about Richburg and Bromley is both were team captains. I like guys that can lead and have initiative.
  2. Where did you get this info? And what rounds does this apply?
  3. Not speaking for just the giants, but in general, why is it that NFL draft analysts (the media) seems to like EVERY SINGLE PICK? These all can't be good picks, lol, they never are.
  4. Is this saying we don't believe in Jernigan and Randle as everyday starters?
  5. Nice job. And your # 2 is on the board.
  6. Right, plus after a 5'11 QB just one the SB, along with 6'0 Brees not too long ago, perhaps teams are rethinking QB height and can accept QB's with this stature. If Manziel was 6'5, he'd be the #1 pick bar none.
  7. I'm not convinced that at least two of the four teams, Texans, Jaguars, Vikes, and Browns, aren't taking a QB with their top draft picks. I think we'll see at least two QBs go in the top 10. My going out on a limb pick for the shocker of the draft is Rams taking Manziel with #2.
  8. Moncrief looked excellent at the combine. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/donte-moncrief?id=2543614
  9. Fortunately, the NFL dropped the 1st round time to 10 minutes, 2nd round to 7 minutes, and subsequent rounds to 5 minutes. Goodell also advised teams to hurry their asses up and make the pick when they know it... at least, in so many words. He knows viewers attention and ratings wane as these teams hesitate. If there's anything Goodell knows, it's TV ratings, haha.
  10. Rumors and draft predictions by the media are all over the place. This is nothing out of the ordinary. How exactly are the giants being more transparent?
  11. Where have they publically stated their interest in Martin?
  12. Every Mock draft I see, including major sites like CBS and SI, have the Texans not taking a QB. Am I missing something? The Texans currently only have Case Keenum and Tj Yates, right? For the life of me, I can't see the Texans not taking a QB with the 1st pick.
  13. Very possible, although I was hesitant to draft beyond one in the 1st round, since we've signed four lineman this offseason, and expect Snee back from injury. Really, in my mock draft, after round 4 I kinda stop caring as much since these guys have like a 5% chance of making it in the NFL for more than 3 years.
  14. I'm sold on Martin as a versatile lineman who can bring immediate value and be a starter for years. My mock draft goes like this: 1 - G/T Zack Martin, Notre Dame 6'4 308 http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/zack-martin?id=2543480 2 - DE Kareem Martin, North Carolina 6'6 272 http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/kareem-martin?id=2543738 3 - DT DaQuan Jones, Penn St. 6'4 322 http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/daquan-jones?id=2543504 4 - LB Prince Shembo, Notre Dame 6'1 253 http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/prince%20-shembo?id=2543835 5 - RB Raijon Neal, Tennessee 5'11 220 http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/rajion-neal?id=2549990 5 (compensatory) - WR Nathan Slaughter, West Texas A&M 5'9 185 (4.35 40, 44 1/2 inch vertical leap) http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/nathan-slaughter?id=2550007 6 - SS Jerry "Boo-boo" Gates, Bowling Green, 5'11 205 http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/jerry%20booboo-gates?id=2549900
  15. Everything I've read has indicated that Martin will have to play guard in the NFL, not LT. Are giant fans on here high on Martin because they think one of our FA's (Geoff Shwartz or Charles Brown) or perhaps Pugh will play LT?
  16. I can see the giants going any which way in this draft. I wouldn't be surprised to see any position in the 1st and 2nd round, with the possible exception of QB and CB.
  17. Lesson from 35 years of giants drafts... do NOT draft running backs from the Big 10.
  18. I'm convinced that Will Beatty got on the Mafia's wrong side... it's the only rational explanation for playing at the level of a high schooler all season.
  19. I wonder how much of the interview selections are an attempt by the giants (or any team) to deliberately cause misdirection to other teams. There's probably some of this to a certain degree, while perhaps the interview focus is on the middle round players? Also, wasn't Cooper Taylor interviewed last year?
  20. I agree that running games may open up in the near future, but also think OL's are paramount while RB's are secondary to a successful run game. I would not draft an RB in rounds 1 or 2, and would be hesitant in rd 3.
  21. I'm a fan of trading down and drafting for volume in rounds 2-4. That way, you don't put all your eggs in one basket.
  22. Apparently, GMs and coaches are not happy with this either. It's 2-3 less weeks to prepare rookies to play in the NFL. That may not seem like much, but consider they have only 10-12 weeks to prepare for camp, and now the NFL is biting into that, which makes up 20-25% of their preparation time.
  23. Anyone else annoyed that the NFL pushed the draft back by three weeks this year, to produce "hype" for it? It's actually led me to stop following the draft as closely, as I'm simply tired of waiting at this point. I don't have any figures, but I doubt it's producing any hype, and may even be hurting. Pro days are over, free agency is over, interviews are over etc... draft rooms are just sitting on their hands now and so are fans.
