  1. Hey, finding people in other rounds including as FAs is fine, but that's no excuse for being an overall mediocre or below average GM. Herzlich is a career backup btw, and has been marginal when given the chance. And really....your counter to Reese being a disaster in the 3rd round is Herzlich?
  2. You guess incorrectly. How is simply asking for 1 out of 5 3rd round picks to simply hang around in the league (i.e. to simply not be out of the NFL) after four years the same as "every draft pick needs to be a first ballot hall of famer?" I think I've set the standard pretty low.
  3. Here's what I'd like...after 8 - 10 3rd round picks and their initial contracts (standard 4 yr deal), can two-three of his 3rd rounders picks at least just please remain in the league?
  4. In sum, he has all the athletic traits and size you want, good run blocker, but with concerns at pass protection especially with balance and technique. Hence, talk of moving him to guard or RT, not LT. Okung on the other hand didn't have nearly as many holes in his game on pass protection and balance.
  5. I'm not even saying 10 years...just don't be out of the league on the street after year 4, after doing barely anything.
  6. Huh? Weaknesses Balance issues a concern. Struggles with active, high-motor defenders. At times he ducks head into his run blocks, losing sight of a moving target. Narrow in-line power base due to lack of bend and excessive leaning. Weight creeps too far past his feet in both run and pass blocks. Inconsistent sustaining his block. On the ground substantially more than a tackle should be. Has to learn to run his feet under him at contact. Can improve as move blocker with better angles. Feet go dead when punching from shallow pass set. Gets caught punching from balls of his feet and without much bend allowing speed-to-power rushers to heat him up. Questionable instincts. On twists, dives down with defensive ends and will miss loopers around edge. Sounds like Flowers.
  7. Is that the only other possible outcome for third round picks? Lol...how about this...simply remain in the league...can they do that at least? Is that so much to ask? Lol
  8. The guy has had three years (as Seph pointed out)...what has he shown in those three years, including during his fill-in starting time for Hankins, to indicate he's anything more than a backup? I bet he's on track to be another 3rd rounder of Reese's that is out of the league/un-signed after next years free agency, or just a backup on another roster playing through 1-2yr low salary deals.
  9. Why not? He stunk when he was given a prime opportunity. He's a backup at best. I hope we draft Tomlinson.
  10. We saw what Bromley could do....in 2015 when Hankins went down. We had a horrible defense, particularly against the run.
  11. And more on him http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2685322-alabamas-dalvin-tomlinson-might-be-the-most-interesting-man-in-cfb
  12. Rich? There's maybe one or two 1st round worthy DTs, and maybe two 2nd round worthy DTs. Plus guys like Brantley and McDowell (projected 1st rounders) come with their share of risks as well. How about this guy in round 2? http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/dalvin-tomlinson?id=2557846
  13. Well good for him, he got his 10 mil per year. We'll miss you Hank. Now I guess this position turns into a higher draft priority. There are three SEC DTs that are potentials for the 2nd and 3rd rounds (Adams, Tomlinson, Gadheaux), plus I've seen some good things on Nazair Jones from NC.
  14. He's a solid starting DT...might never be a pro bowler, but very solid.
  15. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/cam-robinson?id=2558004 In sum, similar to flowers, great traits, size & length, and athletic ability for a Left Tackle, plus with impressive run blocking, but inconsistencies as a pass blocker with balance and technique.
  16. Pretty fair offer, given the current market and going rates for DTs such as Dontaei Poe and Bennie Logan who only got one year "prove it" deals for ~8 mil.
  17. Yeah, I'm not against drafting a person whose age 25 in round #1 or 2, but I would want them to be near NFL ready to be a starter.
  18. From Utah, so Mormon mission perhaps? Those usually last two years. Plus I think he transferred to Utah.
  19. DeShaun Watson is another one not to want...I don't get what people see in him. Perhaps that's why I'm not an NFL elevator?
  20. Bolles is a good choice for who NOT to want. Mine is DT Malik McDowell. Great size, but that's all at this point. Boom or bust type player. Cam Robinson is a close 2nd. This draft really sucks for OL, which is disappointing since it's our biggest need.
